Hotel Berg is a newly renovated four-star boutique hotel on two floors located above a small marina in Keflavík, where most travellers begin and end their journey in Iceland due to its short distance to the international airport. Hotel Berg is only a 5-minute drive to the airport, yet has quiet surroundings, as it is well away from the noises of the airport. All guests enjoy free access to a warm outdoor sitting pool on the rooftop. Ideal place to relax and enjoy the view, as well as to catch the northern lights or the midnight sun depending on the season. The hotel has 36 rooms. They all have free Wi-Fi, a fridge, a flat-screen TV, bathrobes and a desk. A private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer are also in every room. Property amenities besides our pool, include free coffee & tea, a spacious lounge area with a fireplace and a bar, free 24/7 shuttle to the airport for guests who are scheduled to take a flight, 24/7 front desk service and free Wi-Fi in all common areas.

Detailed Reviews
We arrived very early in the morning after an overnight flight from North America, and although our room was not reserved until mid-morning the very friendly staff sat us down to have breakfast while they got our room ready early so we could take a nap. Bliss! Comfy beds in a very quiet hotel (and the breakfast was good too). Very convenient for the airport and there is a bus into Reykjavik - taxis are very expensive. We were only there for a day though, so walking round Keflavik was all we managed this time. Definitely interested in a longer visit in the future, though and very happy to stay at Hotel Berg again (and next time I will remember to bring my swimsuit!)

This was our fifth stay here, and it was fantastic as always. The staff here, especially Ruth (I hope I'm spelling it correctly), are so friendly, helpful, and interesting to chat with. The location, just a little bit outside of the center of town, is perfect; quiet, yet still easy to get to. The beds are so comfortable and the showers are hot with great water pressure. We love the heated rooftop pool, and the front desk offers drinks for sale even after everything in town has closed for the night. We will absolutely be coming back again next year!

The hotel lobby/bar area has a floating globe and a wood burning fire, what else do you need... The woman at reception when we arrived (sorry I didn’t catch your name, you were wearing fab boots) was really helpful and we felt instantly relaxed and welcome. After 4 full on days/nights based in Reykjavik we came here for 2 nights to be close to the Blue Lagoon, Bridge between Continents and the airport for our early morning departure.
Rooms are modern Scandi design and cosy (I want the bedside lamps and rugs). The beds are mega comfy and the bedsheets are super soft.
I can’t sleep with feather bedding and the hypo-allergenic pillows were brilliant. Other more expensive chain hotels will just drag out dusty lumpy foam or fibre pillows from the bottom of a cupboard.
We stayed in a superior double and felt like we had plenty of room. Bathrooms are bright, very clean with spacious walk in shower. There is underfloor heating throughout the bathroom and bedroom which is a nice touch.
Breakfast was excellent and the evening restaurant food is excellent too. We ate there both nights and enjoyed both equally. Lamb was cooked perfectly and I loved the beer mushroom starter. Also give the Baileys Martini a try.
The pool is warm and a great way to end a day of sight seeing.
The airport shuttle is a fab service and if you are coming to the hotel it won’t cost much in a taxi as it is only 5-10 mins away.
Last but definitely not least, the people that work there are what make this hotel feel special.
They couldn’t be more helpful and professional if you ask for something but their personalities shine through and its this which makes you feel like you are in a home away from home. You can tell that they are a happy team and it really carries through in the overall relaxed vibe of the place. Ruit, Julia, Tea, Balasz, Ervin and the woman with the cool boots —— THANK YOU for making a perfect end to our trip. We couldn’t stop smiling all the way home.
We can’t wait to come back.

I contacted the hotel two weeks prior to my stay to check we would be able to use the pool facilities as I understand covid may have an impact.
The hotel advised me the pool was available for use, However when I arrived this was closed for maintenance.
When I approached the hotel about this, they couldn’t tell me why the pool was unavailable or how long this work had been planned. It was not an emergency repair as the pool was being worked on for over a week. The fact this hotel planned maintenance and knew the facility wouldn’t be available but emailed me and said it would, just shows the type of hotel this is.
The free airport shuttle we booked did not arrive the following day either, meaning we had to get a taxi which one member of staff very kindly arranged and was very helpful.
Hotel Berg have now explained they offered a superior room to compensate (£10 more then room I booked) this does not compensate and the room was no different to the one I booked.
The superior room is supposed to have a double bed, but we had single beds so clearly this was not the room they advertised again.
This hotel false advertises in order to receive the money so I would suggest to others to be mindful of this before booking a stay here.
Other hotels have stayed in during my time in Iceland have been fantastic and had no issues such as this.

This was only hotel I've ever stayed at with no free morning coffee in the room or lobby. Instead you could pay $17 for the breakfast buffet. Luckily we found a great bakery (which the name escapes me) a mile down the road.
The "bar", which we were looking forward to after a long day on the road, had little choice and was the reception desk.
The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is that the rooftop hot pool felt great and had a good view, but even this was in bad disrepair with large sections of tile missing and loose tiles on the sides and bottom.
As for the room itself, there was a weird switch set-up where you had to discover a master switch inside the room to turn a light on, and the bed was much too soft for my bad back. The shower in the bathroom was designed so that it was nearly impossible to take a shower without soaking the entire floor. The topper though was that when I woke up in the morning I discovered dried blood on my pillowcase and pillow, and it wasn't mine. When I told them about it at the desk while checking out, all I got was "oh, sorry." They might have at least offered us a free cup of coffee.

The room was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was not served until 7am not the advertised 3am. I requested a cold breakfast box as our flight was very early and was advised it was not possible despite having paid for it on the given facts. The hotel has a 3 or 5 course tasting menu which we found uninspiring.

I had read so many wonderful reviews, so when I was able to get a reservation coming off the cancellation list, I was thrilled. The staff is amazing, the restaurant for dinner —Fiskarinn— is really delicious; however, the rooms are small (fine), but the walls are paper thin, so we heard all our neighbors, above and beside. The rooftop pool is really a hot tub for 12, but it’s still really a nice amenity. The best thing is the free shuttle TO the airport—that is worth its weight in gold as taxis are so expensive.
Breakfast starts at 7 am and they will make you a breakfast to go bag if you have an early flight, but it’s the same price as the regular breakfast, so skip that unless you want to pay a lot for pastries in a bag.
There is no lunch served on site, but there is a restaurant really close to the Hotel Berg, which offers great food for lunch (and maybe for dinner, but we ate at the hotel).
PROS: roof top pool; free shuttle TO hte airport; great restaurant for dinner
CONS: loud rooms, can be hot, even though the windows open, away from the center or Keflavik.

We stayed here for one night rather than stay at the airport overnight. It was so close to the airport and a free shuttle was provided and arrived in time, dropping us for our flight in minutes the next morning. We checked in about 10pm and were able to use the pool (heated to 40 degrees) under the stars. The room was extremely comfortable and new. Robes and toiletries provided. Would highly recommend.

The hotel itself looks quite nice and modern and is situated right next to the ocean with a great view. We booked a junior suite and found the room to be quite comfortable yet the air a little bit stale.
Because we were travelling with a baby we needed space in the room, so we asked at the reception if it is possible to help us fold in the spare couch/bed. Unfortunately they couldn't help us because there is no one working in housekeeping in the early afternoon. When I tried to close the bed myself I noticed that the backrest was already broken so I didn't even bother to try it myself.
But the worst parts about the stay were the pool which needs immediate renovation due to rust and peeled of paint in the water and the breakfast. I have never in my life experienced a hotel where you were allowed to only eat one egg per person. That's a big no no imho. Don't know if it is hotel policy because of bad experiences or if the lady who works there by herself in the morning would be too busy if she had to fry multiple eggs for the guests.
Dinner was great though!

The standard room is quite spacious and comfortable.
Bathroom:
- A large counter was appreciated; no deforestation desperate searching for somewhere to put stuff down
- Shower had a full door and the tiles immediately on front of the shower door were heated-- genius and no flooding of the bathroom floor!
- Shower was huge, water pressure was great, temp was nice and hot.
Room:
- Pillows were decently firm/filled
- Nespresso machine, electric kettle for hot water, and mini fridge (no freezer) were nice touches
Noise:
- We could clearly hear people coming and going from other rooms, which wasn't ideal at 2-5am.
Overall it was a very nice facility and a great place to stay if you need to be near the airport. They have a free shuttle for airport drop-off but no pickup. Would stay again but would be sure to wear earplugs next time.

That would be best answered by the hotel itself. It may change depending on weather too. I would write them.
There is a bus that will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon has a luggage storage facility that is secured ($). It is Iceland so everything is costly. You can either just pay for the transportation to and from the airport or include the cost of the Lagoon as well. However, unless you want to take a local bus from the airport you will need to taxi to the Hotel Berg (3 miles). They pay for the taxi when you leave only. It will cost about $30 to take a taxi 3 miles.
I stayed there in August. The hotel paid for a cab to the airport, a short ride. As for your excursion to the Blue Lagoon, check the other answers, which are comprehensive.
It was included. It was also very early, as many of the departing flights are early. Heavy to carbs, pastries, etc.
I just stayed there, November 2018. Checkout time is noon, which is very generous. They can extend it to 1pm if necessary. We had some time between checkout and our flight at the airport, so they stowed our bags for us behind the reception desk while we did a little sightseeing.
