Guesthouse 1x6 is a unique, artsy family-run Boutique Bed&Breakfast near Keflavik Intl. Airport, overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Yukiyo & Andi – a binational couple from Japan and Switzerland – are paying a lot of attention to detail. International artists have contributed to the house as artists in residency. Guesthouse 1x6 has just been awarded again with the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award - now for the 5th time in 5 years. Attention to detail is paramount and the wellbeing of our guests ensured by the singular choice of building material, 1x6 is the size in inches of the timber used to create the unique interior. You are invited to enjoy the one of a kind thermal bath in the garden with a temperature of around 40° Celsius. We offer a total of 6 guest rooms - all of which have access to a shared bathroom. Transfers from/to Keflavik Airport can be ordered at extra charge and we are happy to book excursions and tickets for the Blue Lagoon.

A visit to Iceland is not complete without a visit to 1x6 Guesthouse in Keflavik. The hosts are warm and welcoming as is the organic coffee! The rooms and the guesthouse are filled with lovely, unique details and artworks, and to top it all there is a wonderful hotpot in the garden. The guesthouse is super clean and the products in the barthrooms are from the Icelandic company Sóley, that uses herbs from around Iceland in their products. The delicious organic breakfast is beautifully presented and if you are vegan, you’re safe! Thanks to Andi and Yuki for making our stay in Keflavik so perfect!

Had the perfect start to our trip, staying at 1x6 for the first night. Andi & Yuki welcomed us in and we felt very much at home. After a very nice dip in the hot tub and a good night’s sleep, we woke to a delicious breakfast that Andi and Yuki had prepared, full of local ingredients and tasty homemade bread. Andi gave us some great recommendations for our trip with a healthy dose of humour...really enjoyed our stay at 1x6.

Andi & Yuki (and cat Kiki) were the most gracious and fun hosts. The guesthouse is perfect for those looking for personal interaction with friendly locals who go above and beyond to make sure your visit is exceptional! The guesthouse itself is modest in size and utilizes eco-friendly building materials as the medium of a variety of artistic applications. The hot pot out back was phenomenal and the breakfast was way beyond our expectations! All the ingredients were high quality and the presentation beautiful. Even though our group of five adults arrived during covid quarentining restrictions, Andi & Yuki made sure that we all could greet each other through windows and even served our family members who weren't yet released their breakfast and coffee in the garden. Andi speaks 7 languages, and Yuki's homemade breads, jams, and chocolates only added to our fondness of this couple. They kept us up to date on volcano and regional events before and during our stay despite the constant changes. They also suggested restaurants for us to try and we were impressed with the ones we visited. Kopar in Reykavik and Fernando's in Keyflavik were our favorites. Our 16 day trip to Iceland was incredible, but our stay with Andi & Yuki is among our favorite memories!

We had a fantastic short stay at Guesthouse1x 6, thanks to the warm, wonderful welcome we received from Andi and Yuki. Our room was super clean and comfy and we loved the hot pool. We had to leave for the airport really early or we would definitely indulged in the fabulous breakfast.
Yuki served us divine chocolates and Andi made me the best cappuccino of our 12 days in Iceland. The personalized welcome, the cool artwork, and the location all made for a special experience, and we can’t recommend Guesthouse 1 x 6 more highly!

We chose this guesthouse first because it was close to the airport. But the property itself has much more to offer. The house is nicely decorated and you get immediately the feeling of coziness and “ a home away from home”. Although the bathrooms were shared everything is done to make you comfy like bathrobes and good big towels.
The owners are wonderful people making you feeling home when you enter the car at the airport. Their main goal is to share their love for the place and Iceland with you.
The big extra is the big hotpot in the garden. Again slippers, the bathrobe and towels give you all the comfort to enjoy the 40 C heated water.
Andi the owner arranged the transfers to and from the airport and was really doing everything necessary to make it going smooth even at 6 am :)
All in all if you need a friendly, clean and cosy place upon arrival or before returning home this us the place to be!!
Yuko does great cookies and chocolate which we were offered upon arrival.
We will be back

I stayed in this Guesthouse first time 4 years ago and now going back to Iceland there was no doubt that I really wanted to stay here again...
I booked directly on their website. It was easy and communication was clear and very friendly.
The Guethouse is really amazing - it is relaxing and all rooms are decorated with beautiful art and everything is spotless clean. Everything served in the cozy kitchen is delicious - and to top it all, Yuki and Andi (the hosts) are just beautiful people.
Can´t wait to go back again

1x6 Guesthouse is by far one of the coolest places we've ever stayed! It was our first stop during our 10 day Iceland trip. The space is outstanding, having been decorated by different artists with delightful little touches everywhere you look. Andi and Yuki were excellent hosts. They offered to fill and turn on their hotpot for us, even though we were the only guests they had that night. Breakfast the next morning was impeccable, with homemade breads by Yuki, omelettes, yogurt with Icelandic berries, and delicious coffee - easily the best breakfast we had during our whole trip! Andi and Yuki were so welcoming and helpful! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Beautiful little bed and breakfast, cozy rooms, hot tub is amazing and we even saw the northern lights while we stayed here! There's also an amazingly cute cat, and Andy/Yuki were super friendly and kind :)
Shared bathroom is maybe not for everyone, but it's really not a big issue and is kept very clean - hosts promote everyone being conscientious towards the other guests so it should be in good condition when you need to use it!
Rooms have all the bits you need for your stay (and they even have good tea which is always good to see for a British person - rest of Iceland only seem to have Pickwick's which is..not great)
It genuinely made our holiday complete to stay here, our hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, and we went away feeling like we had a second home in Iceland!

The proximity of this guesthouse to the airport makes it the perfect place to stay at the start or end of your Iceland trip. But it's much more than that. It is a real treasure, with the welcoming hosts, the comfortable rooms, the beautiful artistic decorations, and of course the wonderful hot pool in the backyard. It would definitely be worth spending more time there, and it's a shame we missed the breakfast due to our tight schedule. Hopefully another time!

What a lovely place to stay. Andi and Yuki were phenomenal hosts. The location is just 10 minutes from the Keflavik airport. I’d recommend staying here at least on your first day and last day. It’s incredibly convenient to get in and just be right at your location. The pickup and drop off service is worth the extra fee.
The accommodations themselves were comfortable. The room was nice and tidy. The bed and pillow were very comfy and I’m pretty particular about that. The bathrooms are shared, but there are two and they’re always clean. It was never an issue at all.
The geothermal pool is amazing. We were fortunate enough to see the volcano eruption while sitting in there, watching the sky light up bright orange. The walk to the water was just about two minutes, which is definitely worth the view.
It’s only about 30 minutes to The Blur Lagoon and maybe 45 minutes from Reykjavik. I highly recommend staying here as opposed to Reykjavik as it is peaceful and serene.
Finally, the breakfast was delicious. I’m a picky eater and every single thing on that plate was excellent.
You cannot go wrong staying here. There’s a reason it has 5 stars.

No problem, you can book the night before arrival as well so you can check in right away upon arriving at Keflavik as you will also be jet lagged when coming from the west.
If you don’t want to book early check in, you should store your luggage in the rental car. It’s perfectly safe in Iceland. If you don’t have a car, it doesn’t make sense to come here just to store the luggage. It’s cheaper to use the luggage storage at the airport.

Hello
A maximum of 3 rooms are sharing one bathroom, but if the house isn’t fully booked, you might get your private bathroom for your family.
You can also book 3 rooms and get your private family bathroom.
We are a small private guesthouse with a familiar atmosphere, but if sharing isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other places with private facilities.
Best regards
