The trademark of Iceland, the great Geysir, gave the hotel its name and Geysir is situated right outside the front door of the hotel. Haukadalur is one of Iceland's most famous historical sites, both ancient and today. The farmer's son from Haukadalur, Sigurdur Greipsson, founded a sports school in his father's inheritance at Haukadalur, which he operated with his wife Sigrun Bjarnadottir for a period of forty-three years. Today Hotel Geysir is run by descendant of Sigurdur Greipsson, Mar Sigurdsson (youngest son of Sigurdur and Sigrun) and his wife Sigridur Vilhjalmsdottur along with their children, Mabil Groa and Sigurdur. The Geysir-Center, which is directly opposite the geothermal area of Geysir and Strokkur, consists of a whole building complex with elegant restaurants, souvenir shop, outdoor and clothing store, snack shop, Geysir museum with multimedia show and camping area.

Also there is a golf course, fishing, hiking trails, outdoor paradise the Haukadalur woods, Langjokull glacier tours and other activities such as highland tours.

Therefore it is perfect for day trips because of many different possibilities of entertainment. His landmark of Iceland is a spectacular natural phenomenon beyond description. The geothermal field surrounding the Great Geyser is the definitive geyser, having given its name to the geological phenomena. The Strokkur, another famous geyser located nearby, gives a performance every few minutes, shooting a tower of water and steam 30 meters into the air. There are other attractions apart from the magnificent geysers.

For example, Blesi, a hot spring with water the colour of turquoise delights the senses. Walking about this natural wonder, one experiences the intensity of the forces of nature. Night time offers a fascinating view of the bubbling hot springs and the northern lights. A pot of boiling water takes on new dimensions. We place great pride in that all are equally pleased at the arrival and departure and your stay will be pleasant and memorable.Hotel RoomsThe hotel has twenty four double studio rooms in bungalows beside the river and twelve rooms in one wing, just two minutes from the thermal fields. All in all, this has to be the perfect framework for rest, relaxation, and getting charged up for the next activity. Access for disabled people is available both in hotel rooms, restaurants and toilets. The hotel has hot tub indoor with water from the geser, which are good to relax after a walk around the area.

Iceland is an island capable of tempting visitors to a host of activities. One should however not forget that vacations are also for taking advantage of time by relaxing body and soul to the utmost. To reach this level of relaxation it is essential that the surroundings be conducive to this.

Nestled close to the Strokkur geyser and hot springs, Hotel Geysir is lauded by guests for its enviable location and the spotless and stylish comfort it provides. The rooms, with their spacious and clean design, are a hit, although there are occasional mentions of insufficient lighting and missing kettles. While some guests find the hotel pricey, especially the dining options, the high-quality experience often justifies the cost. The service at Hotel Geysir earns high marks for friendly staff and attentive dining experiences. Amenities, including a comprehensive breakfast and modern rooms, are well-received, despite some opinions of an overly dark or jazz-heavy atmosphere.

One of the two best places we stayed in Iceland (we stayed in 8 ), the hotel is very modern the reception area is really nice, the receptionist was super nice when we arrived, the downstairs bar is nice and relaxing if you are coming down from upstairs (reception Area) go past the bar, we entered from the downstairs entrance after visiting the Geyser, it's, great space to relax in.

Dinner was a joy, we had prebooked the dinner package and the menu was great, good choices and it tasted delicious, the service was friendly nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast, WOW! the best we had in terms of selection, you have to have the herring with lava bread, the selection here is phenomenal, take your time to enjoy it it's not a place to rush breakfast!

Our room was spacious great shower and toiletries, we had a radiator under the shelve by the sink made my deodorant interesting to use in the morning LOL, but not n issue, the beds are comfortable, the room is quite and well laid out , the only issue is with the lighting, I used my phone to illuminate the area around the coffee machine, great coffee .

Would I stay here again, absolutely I would go back tomorrow, there are some items at breakfast I would like to try and there is plenty on the a la cart menu I would like to try

We stayed for 1 night in March. We were in a deluxe room with a small balcony. We arrived just before Covid19 was everywhere and the hotel had sanitisers as soon as you entered.

The hotel is new and in a great location, just opposite strokkur the geyser that spouts every few minutes.

The rooms are really beautifully appointed with very comfortable king sized beds, a coffee maker and selection of coffees, and kettle with tea selection that included fruit teas.

The bathroom was a bath with a hand spray, so no actual shower unit. The toiletries included shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and were great quality and locally sourced. The place uses geothermal heating so is nice and warm, we were there after a big snowfall.

We booked supper in the restaurant and they had vegan options as standard. The meal was very enjoyable with a vegetable tower as the main.

Really fabulous staff who even de-iced and cleared the snow from the car before we left!

If you’re visiting Geysir this is a great place to stay.

Me and my housband stayed at Hotel Geyser(Iceland) for one night in July in the suite and we had amazing experience!

The location on the hotel is premium, next to the Strokkur(geyser)which is one of a very few natural geysers to erupt frequently and reliably.

The hotel itself is designed by great designers that were thinking about every small detail.
If you want were cosy atmosphere in a hotel that in every corner is filled with elegant Scandinavian design this is the place to stay.
The staff is very kind and trying the best to provide excellent stay.
In the restaurant you will get fine dining experience, they are using only premium ingredients and fress food.

The rooms are designed with style and elegance and you could feel how important is for the hotel to give to the guests luxurious Icelandic experience.
In the room you get premium coffe as much as you like in nice designed cups. This is an extraordinary place!
I truly recommend staying in Hotel Geysir.

I am looking forward coming back!

Very lovely designed hotel, the location is directly across the road from the Geysir, which is great because we had terrible wether so when the rain eventually stopped meant we could pop out to take photos and also pop back to Gulfloss waterfall which is a 10 min drive away. The room was really large, I'm not a lover of wet rooms, but thats a person preference. The bed was really comfy. The room was the coolest id stayed in, in 10 days which was a plus for me.
We had the buffet lunch and was really surprised at the quality, mushroom soup was delicious. (Lots of tour groups stop here for lunch) Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the buffet breakfast, it had most the things you could want but wasn't particularly tasty and would definitely benefit from having someone cooking fresh eggs, as the scrambled and fried in the Bain Marie were hard, but I think I was more disappointed because the lunch was so good.
The bar in the evening was lacking in atmosphere, and really would have benefited with the fire being lit, but it its really hot there as its in the lower ground floor, also there was no notices regarding happy hours, we had to ask the staff and even then the barman tried to charge us full price. These are all minor things, overall the hotel was very good.

At the time of our visit, Hotel Geysir had only been open for a month. Minerva greeted us with such warmth that I loved it from the get-go. It was our first of 2 nights in Iceland and we were exhausted from our 6am arrival and drive from the southern route of the GC. The landscape was starkly beautiful and the Hotel fit in so well. It is modern with clean lines with well placed organic elements that made one feel in-situ, which made me feel at home in Iceland. Though there is no geothermal hot spring on premises, the extra large soaking tub and Icelandic bathing amenities were amazing! The room was well appointed and the bed was plush and comfortable.
In the morning there was a delicious breakfast buffet (which was included in our stay) that included some traditional foods (salmon, muesli, skyr, eggs and cold cuts, etc.) which kept us satisfied for most of our day. The Geysir visitor center is across the parking lot where one could buy souvenirs (I wish I had!). I might recommend getting up early to go there because next thing I knew, throngs of tour busses to visit the Strokkur Geysir, filled an empty parking lot in the blink of an eye.
I had another lovely interaction with Minerva who embodied excellent service with a beautiful personality. I can’t say enough about this quality because it truly doesn’t matter how luxurious or rustic, if the staff isn’t naturally kind or caring, none of it really matters to me.

We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful new hotel just next to the geysirs. Our room was very luxurious and spacious with an enormous bathroom and a deep bath. Luxury products were provided and the entire area around the hotel was very peaceful. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and then dinner in the restaurant which was very relaxing with excellent service and a small selection of local tasty food. The breakfast selection was also extensive and delicious.

I just spent two weeks in Iceland, staying at hotels all across the island. Hotel Geysir was definitely my favorite.

The room was large and comfortable with the best beds and pillows of any hotel we stayed in. The rain shower had the most water pressure and hot water of any place we stayed. The wifi and internet connection was flawless.

The hotel restaurant was also outstanding. Best breakfast buffet of the places we stayed. We also enjoyed their special holiday menu for dinner. A bit pricey, but no more than a nice four-course dinner in any fancy hotel.

The best thing about the hotel, of course, is its location. Literally across the street from the Haukadalur geothermal area (Geysir and Stokkur geysers), 10 minutes to Gulfoss, 30 minutes to the Secret Lagoon in Fludir, and maybe an hour from Thingevellir National Park.

So the hotel is beautiful, we had suite which was amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and we let the hotel know before we arrived and when we arrived and even at the dinner itself. People next table to us were also celebrating birthday the had cake with candles and the waiters celebrated their birthday but ignored ours.

At the breakfast (11am) we wanted to order bottle of Möet but were not allowed to do that because you can't order alcohol. I thought it was weird since champagne breakfast is a standard in good hotels. Here they did not have it and did not allow you to order it. I talked to the waitress and asked if she could ask her managers if we can order 3 mimosa at least to make a birthday toast and we were allowed to do that.

At check out the manager was going to charge us almost 9000 ISK (80USD) for 3 mimosas. I told the manager that we were not allowed to order Mõet and the fact they did nothing for us celebrating birthday even though we mentioned it 4 times, we also let know we could not sleep because of party on the floor above us. Instead of just waiving the 3 mimosas she let us wait while she was trying to call and find the right price to charge us. Which I found odd considering they forgot his birthday and we could not sleep because of noise normal thing would be just to waive that. She waived one glass after I asked in a joke are you gonna let the birthday boy pay for his.

We spent a lot of money at this hotel 2 suites couple of bottles of wine. Beautiful rooms but the customer service experience totally ruined that for us. This could have easily been 5 star review hotel grounds 5 star but service is 1 star. We stay in many luxurious hotels all over the world, this suite was one of my favorite but again customer service is just not there.

We were transferred from our original accommodation to Hotel Geysir, and it was a real treat. A very modern design with big spaces and lots of areas in which to unwind with a book, glass of something, or someone to chat with. Our room and bathroom were wonderfully spacious and very well appointed. The bed was amazingly comfortably and the curtains certainly ensure that no light gets into the room so sleep is easy to come by. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast, and our evening meal was sublime with fabulous food beautifully cooked and presented. Whilst the range of offerings at breakfast was fairly standard, the quality is amazing. All the staff that we met were incredibly friendly and nothing was any trouble. The fact that it is just over the road from the geysers is an added bonus and means that one can enjoy these natural phenomena before the crowds arrive. A wonderful stay; thank you Hotel Geysir.

Exhausted from a day of hiking and viewing the Strokkur geyser, we needed rest. Check-in at the GeysirHotel was effortless and they even helped us with our question about where to pay the parking ticket we got in Reykjavík (hint: download and use the easypark app and avoid tickets). The room was lovely, sunset from the bar magnificent and both food and service in the restaurant were top notch. The room, as well, was perfect for our needs and the shower was magnificent. Five star end to a five star day.

The construction of the new hotel building did not affect our stay. There is a nice a la carte restaurant, a large counter restaurant open at day times. We stayed in Little Geysir cottages and could use the Little Geysir building for breakfast in the morning

Hi there. When we stayed our room was at the front of the hotel and we could not hear anything. I believe most Icelandic hotels have some sort of soundproofing. Have a wonderful stay. It is an amazing place. And dont forget to go to the Geysir restaurant on site. Lovely food.
