Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty.

Location was good, right on the water, and just five-ten minutes walk from shopping/main square However, like everywhere in the world, the hotel is suffering from a staff shortage. The restaurant stopped serving at 10pm so coming back late from work one night we had to walk to the only open restaurant in town which is 15 minutes away (called Vite and not bad if you need a late-night meal). Our room smelled moldy and it took two days before management came to take a look. (They didn't do anything about it in any case) The wifi is shaky which was a problem during our zoom calls. Bottom line: a very attractive building with nice staff and a good location. If you are on vacation then it's a good option but if you are working while staying there it may not be the best choice.

We have just returned home after 4 nights at the Admiral. Beautifully restored warehouse/granary that gives a real sense of the history of the place. Superb location! Lovely breakfasts and the rooms the are very clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A special shout out for Gurkan who went above and beyond in giving us lots of helpful information about where to go and how to get there. Also told us where to go to get free Covid tests!

Very comfortable and well equipped rooms. Nice and quiet so we slept very well. We had an issue with the chromcast in one room which was swiftly and easily resolved by moving us into another room. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really great, lots to choose from and good quality.

My wife and I stayed here as a special treat for our 10th wedding anniversary. We let the hotel know about this and amazingly, on arrival we were told we'd been given a room upgrade! Our room was amazing! Bluetooth speakers in the bathroom (i need this at home now), bluetooth connectivity to the TV as a room speaker, very high quality finishes throughout, bedside light controls for all the lights, beautiful keyside views, very comfortable firm mattress with a duvet style topper to sleep on. Location is perfect for walking to all the main sites. It also has a well stoked taxi rank immediately outside the hotel. Price-wise... I'd say it's an expensive hotel for our budget but for the location and quality I have no complaints about that and felt it was very good value

Clean and relaxing room. Very convenient location. Everything in the bath room was modern designed and minimalistic type. There is no noise. When you look at from the room window you can see the new opera building. Next time when I will to Copengahen thats already clear which hotel I am going to stay.

Fantastic hotel in a great location, within walking distance of major attractions and landmarks. Very welcoming and out room was lovely - we had a waterfront room. Bed very comfortable and room had everything we needed. We were also able to watch a Netflix programme using our On the Go Sky which was transferred onto the tv in the room! All the tech was great. Had a fab meal in Salt the on-site restaurant. Great 2 days and would recommend.

It’s one big Hotel very charming in one old building, but inside modern. Very clean and our Luxery room comfortable with view to the harbor. We stayed five nights. We asked for late check out and they have been so kind to allow us one hour. The Hotel is fully booked was the answer. But in case we pay we could stay longer! We never had this experience in 5* Hotels! Now we have to kill 6 hours!!!! No yeah yeah

The Admiral is one of the best Copenhagen hotels located just one block from Nyhavn canal. It has beautiful decor in a old grain warehouse. The staff is friendly and always available to help. The rooms are comfortable. We did not stay with a water view as they are considerably more but had double deluxe overlooking a street of older buildings. It is in a quiet area. A definite upgrade than some of the other hotels I saw when driving around Copenhagen. I contacted guest services many times via email prior to my trip and they were very helpful.

Excellent experience. Room was spacious, spotless, quiet and well equipped; the bed was extremely comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast - and the outdoor Salt café. I found the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. The hotel makes great use of a historic waterside building; the beams lend character.

Room was excellent and the view amazing. However, the breakfast restaurant was obvious not ready for customers! The food was very nice, but the service - oh Lord - was terrible; there was never enough food, which meant that we was constantly waiting for the kitchen to fill up with bread, cheese etc. The waiters was so slow that a turtle would work faster! The dirty dishes was piling up on the tables and we had to ask for everything (cups, fork and knives, to have the table cleaned after the last customers etc etc. All in all, this meant that the last experience we had at the hotel was not very fine.
