The hotel is a lovely restored set of old buildings with rooms set off a picturesque enclosed courtyard. Rooms are full of character and comfortable. My wife and I first stayed here in 2013 and it was peaceful and very enjoyable…… However, there is now a Cuban bar with loud music using the same courtyard until the early hours of the morning, the bedding did not fit the bed, there was no water or coffee provided in the room despite asking and having a lovely coffee pod machine. Having to telephone ‘reception’ at 0030 to ask when the music will stop to be told it says on booking.com there is a Cuban bar is pretty poor! So if you like late nights/early mornings - great, however for a boutique hotel it has an identity crisis. A decision needs to be made as to whether it’s a hotel or a nightclub/late night bar! We are regular visitors to Lefkas and there are much better hotels!…

I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of our hotel that need updating. In taking great care of our charming hotel, our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere. I would also like to take the chance to comment on your points: 1.We are surprised that you didn't like our Cuban bar confessing to us that is the best bar of Lefkada where you want to sit in and watching you during your stay enjoying our Cuban Bar, drinking cocktails, smoking cigars, dancing salsa and singing together with our singer...Keep that in your mind that we love our job and we take care that your nights aren't boring and the same. 2.Concerning the bedding that was not the proper size, this is the biggest size that we can find here in the local market. However we ordered a bigger size to an international provider but it hasn’t arrived yet due to pandemic related delays 3.Concerning water and coffee supplies, we removed everything from our mini bar due to COVID measures. We waited you to deliver water and coffee capsules but you didn’t come to get it when you returned. We will be more careful to avoid any unpleasant experience. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. 1) The room was ok with some character but it was completely impossible to sleep as there is a nightclub (Cubana) right under windows of the rooms with outside very loud music up to 01:30/02:00 (rooms are not at all soundproof). 2) The owner was not nice and insulted me treating me as a thief ! Some explanation : when I booked thru Booking.com I of course indicated my VISA references (which were right conversely to what the owner claimed afterwards !). This is a small hotel and there is no permanent staff in it ; so when I left (it was about 08:30), I saw nobody and therefore assumed in good faith that I would be debited automatically (as is often the case with hotels booked thru Booking.com site). I had just walked 5 meters in the street that somebody litterally jumped on me from the house in front of the hotel on the other side of the street (apparently the family who runs the place lives there). Instead of being calm and explaining me (which he should have done when I checked in) that payment was not automatic, he shouted and insulted me treating me 'a thief' and other words I would not repeat here ! I have been travelling in 190 countries in the world (see my site at-home-everywhere.com), being in hundreds of hotels, and this is the only time where I faced this kind of situation being litterally insulted by the staff of the hotel. The owner also shouted at me that I never wore a mask in the place which is completely untrue. To summarize, I do not recommend at all this place.…

First time we telephoned at the client to confirm his reservation and find out his arrival time and he started shouting that he is paying a lot of money because is a roaming international call and he hang up the phone insulting our receptionist. This was an unacceptable behavior by the guest. Secondly in the check in procedure we kindly asked him to provide his passport and to wear his protective mask. He refused to wear it continuously during his stay and he never showed us his passport. Finally we waited this morning in the reception for the check out procedure and he never came, leaving as a thief quietly without paying. He was stopped by the security team of our hotel with our receptionist. We kindly asked him to return and pay his reservation otherwise we will call the police to handle the situation. He told us that he has given his card but it was an invalid card with insufficient funds. After that we mention the police he accepted to pay, he left continuing his insults and threatening-blackmailing us that he will write a bad review in booking.com and trip advisor. This is the first time after do many years that we operate our hotel that we have such a horrible guest insulting us and not respecting us. It’s such a shame for him.

Excellent accommodation, in the center of Lefkada, clean, tidy, warm (my visit was winter), comfortable beds, perfect WiFi and Manolis more than helpful and friendly. I hope the next time I come back I will not be alone, because the place is romantic too. I have to note that the pandemic safety protocol is being totally followed. The wine bar of Manolis, right next to the accommodation, is awesome, do not forget to visit it too.

The Aigli is by far my favourite hotel in Greece thus far. It’s not like anywhere I have ever stayed and you leave there having made friendships with the owners and their team. The reviews below claiming lack of peace and quiet, no sleep, etc, are way over the top. The music is confined to the separate Cuban Bar during the week, and only brought out into the courtyard on Friday and Saturday nights. Yes, you can definitely hear it from the rooms, but after a big day, plenty of fun in the sun and a few cocktails with Gabriela and Manos (and team), you don’t really find it that much of a bother. In Greece, one must expect late nights, music and dancing....this is the culture. If you want to go to bed with your family at 9pm, you are best to stay in an airbnb, rather than a boutique wine bar in the centre of a buzzing town. My husband and I travelled with our 8yo son and he immediately formed friendships with the owner and staff’s 3 daughters, who spent time with him, played cards, took him to the park and even baked him a birthday cake for this 9yo big day. Breakfast is freshly made to order and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast cook even went to the trouble of buying bacon especially for my son and cooking it to his liking every morning...plus a delicious chocolate milk shake to go with it. The rooms are immaculate and very nicely decorated. Gabriela has very stylish taste. Nothing has been overlooked. There is plenty of space too. The team at The Aigli are also very helpful with advising local “hidden gems”, tours, tavernas and places to “steer clear of” if you want a more traditional Greek experience. Dimitris even tried to get my husband out of paying a parking fine we copped for parking in a “residents only” street (which was unmarked), but going with him to the appropriate authority to explain the circumstances. If you’re not a party animal it’s probably not the place. We didn’t in fact end up staying here although we had booked to do so. On arrival we discovered our room opened out into a pretty courtyard that functioned as a bar promising Cuban music till late at night. A cool bar and Cuban music are great but not right outside my room. It was hot and the air conditioning didn’t work — I discovered later we should have been told the air conditioning only worked with all windows closed. The four poster bed looked attractive but was not firm enough for my liking. But the real problem was a very pervasive smell that seemed somewhat chemical. What it actually was I didn’t find out. The reception was closed shortly after we arrived and wasn’t going to open again for several hours. Rather than waiting around we simply moved on elsewhere. Not very satisfactory — right in a bar and club, no information re air conditioning, uncomfortable bed, a nasty smell and no staff available.…

Dear Susanne M, I was very disappointed with the content of your review. However, after investigating the particulars of your stay in detail with all team members I was even more disappointed to learn that the content of the review was not an accurate reflection of what actually happened. Firstly our reception is open and can receive any complaint anytime. We are surprised that you couldn't operate the well known DAIKIN air-condition unit although we had explained you its operation at the moment of your check in. Secondly we are proud for our housekeepers who maintain our hotel very clean and our online rating for cleanliness is one of the highest among the hotels in Lefkada's City. Our mattresses are the Kyros version of Media strom, the top choice with the highest standards mattress for professional use with a cost of 1000 euros each. Thirdly, our hotel is proud to have two of the most famous bars of the island, the wine bar Mavros Lagos and the Cuban bar Cubana for giving to our customers an alternative solution of entertainment. If you had called the reception we could provide you some earplugs. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. We visited Aigli for few days and we loved the location, the kindnes of its staff and the beauty of its rooms. The hotel is surrounding a smal yard which is for breakfast in the morning and transforms to a nice music paradise with cuban music in the evening/night. Gabriella, the owner was very helpful and kind to us.There were some minimal issues with the facility overall like some broken light bulbs and clogged drainage in the shower but this are regular things to happen during high season.

This place has huge potential. Location great, nice rooms, nice staff and breakfast BUT it’s no longer a hotel. The courtyard is part of the bar, if you want to sit out there in the afternoon or evening it doesn’t feel one bit private, it’s a bar. As a result curtains always drawn over the room to avoid people in the bar looking into your room. Evening it’s SUPER loud. Live music. Tons of people. Great bar atmosphere but at the expense of people trying to get some sleep in the hotel. Real real shame. Need to lower their prices if they want to prioritise bar over hotel guests. Would suggest they focus on bar and close hotel as this is not proper hotel service or respect to guests.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a lovely experience unlike anywhere else we have ever stayed in Greece. The owners were very friendly and the rooms were lovely. The room itself was immaculate and decroated with antique furniture, comfortable (4-poster) bed, TV and coffee machine. The bathroom was like a mini spa with power shower, body jet shower and a steamer. It also provided fancy toiletries that smelt amazing with bath robes and slippers to make you feel extra special. We were on the ground floor and our doors opened up onto the patio where the bar was so we could sit out in the evening, drink cocktails and listen to the Cuban music. The evening had a very fun vibe to it with live music everynight and a massive selection of wines and cocktails. The freshly blended melon and gin cocktail was a personal favourite. We would both 100% recommend this place if you want something fun, friendly and a little bit different to your traditional Greek hotel. My only regret is that I wish I was better at dancing to Cuban music, maybe next time I can get some lessons!…
