The structure is in the middle of the street which connect Katapola and Chora. Rooms are beautiful and clean. The service is professional and tidy up the rooms and change the towels every morning. From the balcony you can see the port of Katapola which is very suggestive. The owner Spyros is very professional and kind and he gave us a lot of advices about restaurants, beaches and other things to do in Amorgos. Better than a tourist guide. I suggest to stay there for visiting Amorgos.
I need to start with the personnel: Very, very polite, friendly and accommodating! The rooms are quite spacious. The bathroom was refurbished and spotless, clean, hot water available immediately. Quiet, clean. Located between the Katapola harbor and Chora. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Very polite owner. There is noice from the nearby main road of the island. A reason that a tourist can not have a good sleep at a room like that in general, is that when other guests or the cleaning lady close the door of another room, the noise can wake up a dead man. Especially on islands with winds. Owners should think to invest on doors that have a brake like the 5 star hotel room doors. Another reason is the short time, motels/hotels etc, give for the breakfast serving time. I do not understand why breakfast is not served until 12 o'clock especially if the breakfast room is not used for lunch also. Whith the current practice if I want to have breakfast in my hotel during holidays, I must put on wake up call, as if I was not holidays. This hotel has small rooms but they are clean. The location is perfect. Value for money…
Located over the Katapola bay (1km) you must have one of the sea view rooms. 5' from Chora of Amorgos and this should be your central base to visit all the Amorgos beaches. The room was very very new, clean, with excellent accommodation and furniture. Spyros (your guy to help you) was very polite, smily and helpful and high representative of Greek Philoxenia. The room was daily cleaned by the two super happily and friendly girls. The place is quiet even in front of the hotel is the main road from Katapola to Chora and the gas station. A vehicle is needed for your daily excursions. I'm very pleased I stayed here and I'll certainly propose it to all my friends and family.
This hotel is located between Katapola (Amorgos's main port) and Chora. The recently renovated interior of the hotel offers spacious rooms, soundproof windows (very important since the Hotel is practically on the road), a lot of facilities (A/C, TV, a fully equipped kitchenette, hair-dryer) and a great sunset view from the balcony! The staff is one of the best I have encountered in my 20+ visits in Cyclades islands, more than willing to help with suggestions and recommendations for your perfect stay in Amorgos. Unfortunately, the location is convenient only if you have a car; both Katapola (2 km downhill) and especially Chora (3 km uphill) are in considerable distance if you choose to go on foot. A good thing though is that a bus stop is right outside the Hotel. In general, transport with buses during June-July-August is very convenient, with frequent connections. Furthermore, we felt the mattress being "on the hard side" and the pillows being either too thick or too thin. Overall, Castelopetra offers a fair deal for staying in Amorgos and I can't do anything but recommend it. If they replaced the mattresses and pillows with new ones we would easily be talking about one of the best value-for-money hotels in Amorgos.…
