I just stayed one night here and it's too short. The place is just a museum itself and I spent a lot of time to walk around to appreciate each room and detail of decor. The staff treat every guest with personal attention and call their names. It's full of hospitality and wonderful experience since the moment of checkin. The hardware is excellent, every detail excellent and elegant. I think I don't have to talk much more as you can see the pictures which speak for themselves! Food is nice too, I tried the tasting menu for dinner which is very good (the only bad thing is I became rather drowsy at the later stage of the meal for jetlag 😓 otherwise I would enjoy the meal slower and longer). I love the breakfast (not a buffet) very much too. It's low season when I was there and it's best season for me! Price excellent. Very few guests during my stay which is a plus for me. The distance from Sintra city centre is 15 mins on foot which is better than I thought. I took Uber to this place from Lisbon, fast and hassle free. This hotel is definitely one of the highlights of my Portugal solo trip. (another highlight is staying in a castle in Obidos🥰). A lifetime experience. I can come to visit Portugal again for the sole reason of staying in this kind of accommodation or castle. Love it too much.…
Perfectly located close to the best attractions of Sintra , this gorgeous palace certainly transports you to a bygone era of hospitality and attention to details , all thanks to the extremely hands on general manager Graziela and her fabulous team . This is a super well kept historical property and the specials touches around the entire hotel makes you immediately fell at home . Wow ! What can I say . Thank you all at Palácio dos Setais for such an incredible stay. I will certainly return but , next time I must stay for longer .
The staff are exceptional in their friendliness, efficiency and willingness to please and this, above all, made our stay so enjoyable. The spaciousness and grandeur of the hotel building cannot avoid impressing and its location close to the centre of Sintra is ideal. The food in the restaurant was excellent - the chef even cooked, especially, a dish I remembered from 35 years ago! With comfortable and large bedrooms with high quality linen on the beds it was a real treat to stay in this outstanding hotel.
Get ready for the kind of opulence, service, and quality that seems to be more and more rare. The staff is amazing, the food fantastic, the location perfect, and the attention to detail immaculate, down to providing device charging ability (yes, it is sad that this is not the case in most hotels). And finally, if I could take that bed home with me, I would! Oh the comfort!
Loved my time here! The staff went above and beyond which made this very beautiful property even more special. Extremely convenient location to all Sintra landmarks. It was very easy to park our rental car and walkable to downtown stores and restaurants. The front desk had great recommendations on where to go. The garden and interior of the palace was a breathtaking view/attraction in and of itself.
Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. The location is some distance from the centre of Sintra, 10-15 min walk, and on return walking uphill might be quite tiring for some people. The room rates are expensive, but the building and the rooms are well presented, so if one can afford- highly recommended
Gorgeous hotel! I will remember how blessed I felt to have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful property. The service was formal, I have never been called "Madam" so many times in one day. The whole thing felt like a bit of a fairy tale. We were with a group tour. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Everything was well done.
There was a time when I could visit Europe as a child of wonderful parents or on an extravagant honeymoon and experience hospitality from a hotel staff that made you feel like royalty. I don't get the chance to visit Europe or in this case Portugal as much as I like but what I tremendous experience to know that certain properties continue to make every guest feel like they are so special and so welcome. Tivoli Seteais is exceptional in the hospitality sector like very few properties I have visited in the last 30 years Maybe America has such properties, but I wonder if they are 3 times the price and I sadly know that 99% do not show the personal attention my wife and I received. Going to a highly rated restaurant 30 minutes from hotel great ... learning from hotel that a marathon was closing streets at the hour we would need to return ...could have been terribly problematic. Thank you, Diego Just a sample of thinking we were the only guests of such a beautiful hotel. Housekeeping EXCEPTIONAL, Restaurant and Staff EXCEPTIONAL. The Trimbles will be back soon Thank You ever so much James and Gita Trimble …
The hotel is a beautiful palace. The staff, every single member, was wonderful. When we arrived we were greeted and allowed to check in and drop our luggage. We were early so they kept our luggage for us, suggested a good lunch place and sent us on our way. We ate, visited Pene Palace and returned to the hotel. Unfortunately there was a “technical” issue in our room that required maintenance. So rather than being able to shower we had to wait another 45 minutes or so. We were exhausted from our travel day from the US but situated in the bar and given a very nice drink for our inconvenience. As soon as our room was ready we were made comfortable. We were in room 8, which is just above the reception area. It is a lovely room. However, I would not stay in it again. I would request a room in the other part of the palace or at the back. Because it was above the main door, we had people out smoking under us much of the time, including stinky cigars. They also stood and talked and it seems to be a place the local police hang out during the day so it was quiet noisy at times. Had we had a different room, I am sure it would have been 5 stars. I would definitely come again.…
The property is beautiful and the rooms are first class. I only give a 3-star review due to the restaurant and bar which were touted as popular and required a reservation. We were the only people in the restaurant and earlier in the bar, and had to hunt down a server. This was at 7:30pm, so not an irregular hour. The menu was not exciting and what was served very bland and not what we had been led to expect. You are better off finding a cafe in Sintra.
