Stayed at the Ibis for a few days and the location isn't great as it's not actually in Setubal. It's more than an hour's walk into town with some stretches of the road on highways with no pavements so it was a bit awkward.
We arrived in the evening on Sunday and there were no restaurants open nearby & the hotel restaurant wasn't open either so we had to drive to Burger King to get a meal.
There are only two floors at the hotel and rooms are along a long corridor so it's quite noisy with the movement of guests and the banging of doors.
The room itself is a room of two halves where the bedroom bit looks quite dated & window was old but the bathroom looks modern and recently refurbished. It's like they couldn't quite be bothered to refurbish the whole place!
The room was a good size with ample storage space & did feel clean. The bed was comfortable & the hotel does seem to be making an effort in terms of environmental credentials - toiletries are in dispensers which can be topped up & they smelt v nice! Also there are recycling bins in reception.
Some things can be improved though. There is no bin in the room and no tea/ coffee making facilities or a fridge which would have been convenient. The quilt is a tad thick for warm weather.
The hair dryer wasn't very useful as it just blows out warm air & takes forever to dry my hair even when it's on the highest setting. There weren't many electric sockets in the room, with the main ones near the window so if it's open when it's raining, they could get wet.
The door to the toilet opens in an awkward way so it blocks access to the rest of the room.
We paid for brekkie one day (7.50€ per person) & the good thing was the availability of fresh juices and the environmentally friendly jam & preserve dispensers. Bread rolls & croissants were cold & didn't seem fresh; cold boiled eggs tasted sour so they could have been off. We were glad to see pasteis de nata on offer & the pastry was nice and crisp but the custard was way too sweet, which was a shame.
We did enjoy the pool which looked fairly clean other than some weird bits floating in it and the resident cats are adorable! Pool towels can be obtained from reception, if needed, which was convenient.
If you have access to a car it would be a good place to stay for the price but if you are on public transport, you would be better off staying somewhere alot more central with easy access to the delights of Setubal!

The IBIS sign, mounted on a tower, is easily visible from the main road, which makes it easy to find
Arrived in heavy rain - the spacious parking is near the front door, but there is also a useful portico to unload bags.
There is a useful snack bar with a good menu, swift service
There is a computer work station.
Good friendly reception staff, who know the area and were able to make local excellent recommendations and provide a street map!
Good parking.
Good breakfast.
Swimming pool.
My room was clean & quiet.

Still with single use plastic. Reception staff very useful and friendly. Room window very dirty, in need of a very hard cleaning. But the room was clean and very quiet and nice and sunny. Overall the hotel was better than i expected.

I, female, staid 4 nights at the IBIS in February 2020. Housekeeping stole some of my cosmetics and I wondered why the housekeeping crew kept smirking at me. At home then I realised the missing items. Plus the Sunday receptionist, male, argued with me for 20 minutes in front of other guests that I need to pay for 5 nights, not 4. He tried to confuse me by counting the check-out day as a day to pay. Not until I asked for the manager he finally relented.

Stayed in this hotel at the beginning of June for two nights. On arrival I noted that the AC seemed not to be working. Contacted the staff who told me that there was no AC just a ventilation system. When I pointed out that there was a full AC control system I was told that it was just a ventilation system (avoiding the AC remark), meaning that the AC was probably broken and they left the temperature and speed control system just for a show. The system was always set at maximum speed which meant it was really noisy and that we could only chose between off and noisy mode. Again, when confronted with this I was told it speed and noise would decrease in time (which it didn't). As a consequence, on a fairly mild temperatures (at about 24/25º) weekend it as almost impossible to sleep in the room either due to the heat or the noise. Contacted Ibis which didn't due much to compensate for all the hassle. I would avoid this hotel during the summer, if you care for a good night sleep.

This hotel is on a major road but it was not an issue as we did not hear the traffic and the hotel is set back quite a bit from the road. There is nothing immediately outside the hotel except a cafe across the road. However this cafe is family run and serves typical Portuguese style food at very reasonable prices. The menus are in Portuguese but the soon to be new owner speaks very good English and is in the process of introducing English menus. We were only here for one night and had all our meals at this cafe as Hotel Ibis only provides prepackaged meals. About 15 mins walk down the road is an Intermarche supermarket and add another 10 minutes further is the Allegro Shopping complex. Along the way there are quite a few restaurants. The hotels looks like it has been recently renovated and displays trendy decor. There is no lift in this hotel but if you have a lot of luggage perhaps request one of the many rooms on the ground floor.
The room had a single wardrobe and adequate space for luggage storage. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows and the bathroom was compact but acceptable with nicely done shower unit.
Unlike some of the previous reviews, we were greeted by a delightful lady in reception who was very helpful and welcoming. We did not have issues with any of the staff who were pleasant and courteous.Breakfast buffet is available for $6.90 which appeared attractive but we did not have any.
The Wifi and aircon were excellent. A lot of English TV channels which was great. Lots of free parking available within the hotel grounds. There s a great swimming pool which will be great for the warmer months.
Overall: A good value. No surprises. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in was speedy and staff was friendly. Our room was small but efficiently designed, which is what we can depend on with Ibis. The room was absolutely quiet. There was an excellent breakfast with good variety of choices.

What a disgusting rude bunch of staff. On arrival, blank expressions and no interest in us. The two gentlemen serving seemed more interested in the football on the tv. The older of the two was just plain rude. We've stayed at this hotel a few times before, the first time in 2007. We also stay in numerous other Ibis and accor hotels all around Europe with our work, so are qualified to comment on this particular hotel seeing as we spend around 5 ot 6 nights every month in one. We can honestly say the staff here (with the exception of one in the morning who managed a smile) are rude and should NOT be working for the Accor group. When I was poured a Gin and Tonic, there was no conversation, and once he'd finished making it, he just walked of leaving it his side of the bar for me to reach over and take - and presume that he'd finished it. The rooms are dated, bar one, which we had in June 2016 (show model) with rather dirty carpets etc. On complaining to the manager, it was a rather lame response and a miserly offering. We were also overcharged at the bar. The staff had no knowledge of the Accor loyalty scheme either. PLEASE AVOID. This is NOT an Accor group hotel. All the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there and the older gentleman acted like he didn't like to serve people. Disgusting stay. We will go back and next time we will demand better service. I just hope it is the same staff as they will do their job next time around for sure.

OK hotel but it seems like the hotel need some maintenance.
Tried dinner at the hotel. All dinner is microwave heated. It seems like the staff don't know how to use the microwave. Burger that was red in the midle. Warm applecake, that was warm outside and frosen in the middle.

In our room the bathroom was new but the bedroom hadn’t been refurbished. All communal areas have been refurbished.
Hello,
To answer your question on the facilities of the rooms.
The rooms are ok, good bed, private shower, we do not remember if hterewas a hairdryer because e always take our own with us, so we did not pay any attention to this item. But for the rest you have everything you need this is what we are thinking.
There is for sure no iron in the room.
On the reception they are very riendly and helpfull, and they told me also that they have the intention to renew the hotel very soon.
I hope this satisfied your demand.
For all Ibis hotels you need to check accor hotels website if animals are allowed in the hotels.
