This hotel (which caters for the gay travellers) is fantastically located in the heart of central Bairro Alto yet it’s so well stuck in a secluded street that none of the noise and hustle & bustle of the area will ever bother you!
The hotel is super comfortable and stylish, you can tell someone put a lot of thought into the design of every nook and cranny here! This is a true boutique hotel but at a very reasonable price. Breakfast is gorgeous. And you have amazing local restaurants and bakeries within walking distance
Staff could not be friendlier, honestly they’ll go the extra mile in order to make your stay pleasurable. I had to stay an extra night as my flight was cancelled due to bad weather in London: I had already checked out but was still in the area when I was informed of the cancellation. I didn’t hesitate to go back to the hotel, where I was accommodated for an extra night at my originally discounted tariff!

We were amongst the first guests after the corona shutdown and we want to stress how wonderful the entire hotel staff has implemented hygiene regulations. We felt extremely safe.
The very considerate team was very cautious whilst offering a super friendly, accommodating and efficient service.
The hotel itself is a dreamy oasis in the city with beautiful architectural details. The pool and garden make you forget you are in the middle of the city.
Our suite was spacious and quiet. The design is impeccable.
A special thanks goes to the bartender Paulo who made lounging by the pool even more enjoyable :)
No doubt we will stay at the late birds hotel next time in Lisbon

If you are the type of person who would like to hold a glass of wine, standing at the pool chatting with other guys and making new friends is the place to be!
We were extremely disappointed with our stay at the hotel. The air conditioning was not working and they offered us a fan! The management was insisting that is working and nothing wrong with it. We didn’t sleep much due to the very hot weather. The room was not particularly clean and when they removed the air conditioner cover to allow more air in the room, t was dusty and a layer of fluff was released into the atmosphere. The size of the room was fine but the wardrobe was very small. The bathroom was very small, however, they offered a good quality shower gel, shampoo and soap. One thing I was really amazed at was the management provided you with the safe box code! You can’t choose your own. I have never experienced this.
The breakfast was not that impressive. Was not much choice and they were items missing from the buffet all the time. The quality of the food was poor. You can order a cooked breakfast and omelettes. I had an omelette the first day but was not that good. The coffee was very good but again you have to order it and it felt a bit uncomfortable asking for things all the time.
The balcony was spacious with nice furniture but was not a private one. Was a communal balcony, meaning people who stay in the rooms next to yours could walk to your room freely. I haven’t felt safe.

The location is great. The tram 28 runs just outside and will take you along the nicest parts of the city. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated. The owner kindly described how he transformed the building from its dilapidated state. The balcony was a delight, looking onto the garden and pool. Very convenient for the far venues which were sadly closed.

The Late Birds was a cosy hotel in a great location, but we felt it missed the mark in the breakfast room and around the pool. The pool is a welcome spot to cool down after a warm day discovering Lisbon, however be aware that access is not restricted to hotel guests and is open to friends, other travellers and Lisbon locals who purchase a day pass. This results in a lack of availability for the lounges, and as a non-smoker, made it impossible to enjoy the pool without those fumes. The breakfast was also so minimal that we preferred to eat out during our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable, Our room was located on the second floor, where there is a shared balcony between four rooms. This provided the opportunity to overlook the pool, however the open access to the balcony across all four rooms created the sense of intruding into other people’s space.

We stayed at this awesome property last weekend. The boutique hotel is beautiful and the poolside area to relax and make new friends is amazing.
Breakfast was included in the price and it was much cheaper to book with them directly.
The owner is so friendly and was chatting with us for a long time in the lounge area. He even helped us repack!
The service was brilliant too and every staff member always had a smile on their faces.
We had a lovely time and will definitely come back to it. I can't think of staying at any other place.

We enjoyed waking up in the premium suite (top floor with terrace) overlooking the Christ the King (Almada) statue. Incredible view, very romantic. The scale of the hotel is perfect for traveling during COVID-19. There are just enough rooms to enjoy people watching by the pool and make a friend or two, without the traffic of a larger hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunset cruise on an antique sailboat with the other guests-lovely group of international professionals. Prime location and very reasonably priced for the quality of stay. The Late Birds has just the right mix of privacy with natural opportunities to meet and socialize with other guests. The rooms are very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was perfect. For anything, I needed the staff was eager to help. The hotel has rock-solid wifi with modern fast speeds which made this perfect for me to catch up with my work video calls so I could stay longer. The location is perfect and within walking distance of the lively areas of the city yet hidden away on a quiet side street.

Wonderful location, super friendly staff, variety of activities within the hotel. The pool and garden area would definitely be the feature of the property. In the heat of Lisbon, the pool is a wonderful place to spend a whole afternoon. Enjoy a lovely cocktail from one of the talented bartenders at a very reasonable price.
The room was extremely clean, with plenty of hanging space for clothing, comfortable bed and pillows, and each room includes a Mac Apple computer. A well stocked mini bar and snack basket is also in each room.
The property also includes a lounge with selection of books & magazines. Sip on an early evening cocktail while listening to Live music from their entertainment… or jump on the piano yourself and tickle the ivories.
The breakfast (which is included) offers a variety of pastries and fresh squeezed juice. We also took the weekly sunset boat cruise with several of the guests. I definitely recommend taking the cruise as it was a lovely way to bond with the other guests and staff.

In fact our guesthouse is an All-Male Gay Urban Resort focusing on the Gay Male community.
Our aim is that every guest feels comfortable and behave in a safe environment and for that purpose we have created common areas (some of them are "cloth optional or naked") which allow our guests to socialize more easily.
Furthermore, during high season, our guesthouse is fully booked and we have already planned some parties. For that reason and to make sure you won´t feel uncomfortable, we´ll probably not recommend you our place.
