Reception was smooth and we were soon on our way up to our room. First impression is good but after a shower and settle in we discover that there is not a single place to hang your towel. The room was clean and the TV channel selection and picture quality was good. Reach for a beer from the mini fridge and discover there is no bottle opener! The evening draws in and we discover there is a relaxing low level of lighting but no light over the work desk and no reading lights over the bed, a spare socket for the important phone charger is found by scrabbling around on the floor and when you leave the room the electric goes off so the phone you left to charge is still empty. Retire to the downstairs bar and order a gin and tonic; when the bill comes it is €13. I can buy a full bottle of Gordon's gin for €10.90 from garrafeiranacional and a bottle of Schweppes tonic for €1.80 and still have change out of €13! So to bed; it is large and comfortable and I have a good night's sleep. Down to the breakfast buffet and there is a good selection to choose from. Fresh coffee from a 'pod' machine and a selection of fruit juices and we are off to a good start. Go to the hot food selection, plenty to choose from though the scrambled egg looks disgusting; opt for the fried egg, beans, mushroom, bacon, hash brown and sausage. Back at the table I discover that nothing on my plate is hotter than 40ºC, the ideal temperature for bacteria to thrive and the fried egg appears to be made from soft rubber. The bain-marie under the hot food shows 77ºC so why is the food actually stored at such an unhealthy temperature? The cold selection was however quite good though the pastries were deemed to be a bit stale by my companion.
The hotel is close to the Oriente transport hub, shopping, the Large Altice concert Arena, the aquarium, National exhibition centre and the impressive Euro site; with a good nudge from management this hotel could be very good; as it is, beware of it's limitations.

5 years later I've returned and I was positively surprised by the changes and staff attitude as in 20015 I've stayed at Olissipo and it was not my best experience.

I've stayed from the 1st of July to the 3rd and during the check-in, I was told that I was the first guest after the lockdown ...that got me curious....

Check-in perfect and all the information was given so I did not have any doubts.
Bruno, the Bellboy, took my luggage up to my room, as I was carrying 2 huge bags (70 Kg in total ) and showed me al the amenities.
The room, that I knew from before, is spacious, well equipped and in the closets you can keep all your clothes.

I was really impressed by how clean the room was ....SPOTLESS!!

In the bathroom, that has a bathtub, you will find good quality products from the Portuguese brand Portus Cale.
The beds are excellent and they will provide you with good night sleep.

During my short stay, all the staff was amazing, inquiring if everything was ok and if I was enjoying my stay or if there was anything they could help.
The service at the Bar and Restaurant is very good and the waiters attentive.
At the moment due to Covid the breakfast it's not a buffet it's a La carte but of very good quality anyway .

I sincerely enjoyed my stay at Olissipo especially all the attention given by the staff.
Hat's off to Bruno that on his own free time offered himself to helped me to carry my heavy luggage to the train station.

I can honestly recommend you to stay at Olissipo Oriente during your time at Lisbon.

We were very well served by the staff. Olissippo is a decent 4 star hotel, with facilities like you'd expect like a bar and restaurant and decent rooms. It's in great location of you want to explore the Expo redeveloped area of Nations Park and the Oriente area. What stood out for us was the excellent customer service. We changed the date of our booking and then the room, twice, and all was dealt with charm and attention by the multilingual staff. Also, the breakfast was very good for a typical 4* establishment - better than average for a good price of €10 ph. Overall, highly recommended.

Stayed here for a conference and the hotel was fabulous . Good , large rooms , well equipped , superb professional and friendly staff . For the price I can’t praise it enough . Beautiful coffee in the bar for 2 euros !! And I ate in the restaurant . Really well cooked pork and mushroom risotto and a nice glass of red for €20 ! Can’t recommend highly enough with only a €7 taxi to the historic centre of Lisbon

This is our first time in this hotel. I can't complain about the room as it was very clean and modern, also the bed was very conformable, the bathroom was modern and no shortage of shower gel, shampoo etc. nice thick towels and bathrobes. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although the bar could do with being reconfigured as it is just a bar hidden in the corner of a big room, there was no atmosphere at all, it lacked ambience. As for breakfast, all I can say is it was a bery big let down. We arrived in the restaurant at 8.30 am. There was only thick toast bread which I don't particularly like, some mixed bread rolls, no croissants, no scrambled eggs, they did have fried eggs that looked like the texture of rubber, no bacon, no cheese slices, no cold meats! in fact there was very little of anything. When I asked a member of staff why was there a lack of so many breakfast foods, and so early? The answer was they had a large party in earlier! Sorry, but it is a hotel in one of the busiest areas of Lisbon that has business people and tourists all year round, and they should have some idea how many guests should be arriving for breakfast each morning, and food should be continuously refreshed, other hotels manage without any problem, and I can say that as we have stayed in plenty of hotels around Oriente and downtown Lisbon over the years. We had just arrived back from a trip to the UK the previous evening, but had we had been going to the airport that morning, we would have hardly eaten anything as it took a good 25 mins. before they brought food from the kitchen to the buffet.......

Warm welcome at reception and quickly checked in. Staff top drawer, very professional and obliging. Room very comfortable, spacious and clean with all the amenities desired. Perhaps they could rethink not including a sachet of coffee or milk, for those, of which I am sure there are many, that do not drink tea. Breakfast second to none, delicious, plentiful, with plenty of variety and all fresh. Coffee also good. Always enjoy starting the day on holiday with a glass of sparkling wine, which was also included in the breakfast. Very convenient for the Altice Arena, Oceanarium, Harry Potter, Casino and airport. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights, not bad value at 110 euro a night. Starting with a negative the breakfast experience was manic, there was 2 coach loads of people all trying to have breakfast at the same time, the food kept running out even though the staff were trying their hardest. Not much better the second day there was only 1 coach load. The room was clean and had a comfortable bed, the walls are a bit thin you can hear everything from the next room and corridors. Staff were very friendly, 4 euros for a beer not bad, free nuts and crisps were offered each time.
Would I stay here again?
Yes 👍

Spacious hotel with good amenities. Clean rooms and good service. Good food and great location.
Zero soundproofing means you can hear noise from other rooms- literally word for word conversations, toilets and showering / waste water drainage.
Sleeping was an issue as a result, which is a shame, as we will not be returning or recommending for business or leisure.
Please soundproof rooms, the cost is worth the investment in the long term !

We overnighted here as the hotel is only a three subway stop from the airport. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful - friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with terrific beds and a great bathroom. The hotel breakfast was very good. Only a few blocks from Oriente Station and a couple of blocks from the waterfront, you can't beat the location. What really impressed us is that although we were only staying one night, the hotel put a complimentary half bottle of port with mixed nuts in our room, and two delicious cookies - unexpected but appreciated! Gestures like these really count when you're traveling!

This hotel suited us well for exploring the former Expo site area including the Oceanarium. The hotel offered us a good night’s sleep despite its busy location with a railway and casino in the vicinity. We found the hotel’s staff very professional and helpful.
