This cute little hotel is very good located at the marina bay and has a stunning view over the bay and the beach! Close to the hotel is the best bar in Sines! Staff is friendly, the room was very clean and with enough space! We felt very comfortable there!
We booked this as a cheap overnight on our way from Lisbon to Lagos. We'll start with the bad thing - parking. Basically it's a nightmare but I can't see it would be any different for anywhere else in Sines to be honest, it's just a small town not designed for cars. The hotel its self is just finishing what appears to be a major refurbishment and is certainly aiming at the 'boutique' feel. Our room, while not enormous was perfectly acceptable, had a nice useable balcony overlooking the beach (and the LNG/oil terminals - sadly, you can't get away from either of those if visiting Sines) and had been refurbished to a high standard with a very comfortable bed, a well appointed bathroom and neutral decor. My only disappointment was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast was typical for Portuguese hotels and served in the downstairs bar (which appears to be still on the 'to-do' list for the refurb, but has the most amazing 1970's throwback bar area!). It's was perfectly acceptable but nothing special. The staff were friendly and welcoming and it's an easy stroll into the town centre. Overall I'd give the hotel a solid 8/10.…
Just checked in to the Veleiro and one would expect that for 150€ per night that the service would be better than what it is. The views are nice, the room we got is clean and has a very nice view. The staff at the front desk however make you feel like you’re intruding and they rude. I wasn't even done checking in and I wanted to leave because of their attitude. This place needs a reality check because for 159€ per night, travelers can do better and shouldn’t have to put up with rude staff members who don’t appreciate your business. Spend your money elsewhere.
We paid too much for a terrible bed that creaked like it was going to collapse every time one of us moved to the point where I tried to sleep on the floor. Overpriced view but considering you can't sleep at least you make the most of it. Don't be fooled by the pictures. You need a decent bed. No apology or even acknowledgement when we mentioned it. Worst stay in Portugal and we have travelled from one end to the other
Was a tad hard to find and the staff were pleasant enough. The wifi doesn't work in room 1 even though they say it should it doesn't. It would only work if we left the room and went down the hallway close to the router. They are doing work some rooms but don't tell you that until after you have booked which isn't great as the work starts fairly early. Breakfast wasn't great the only thing I ate was the fruit. It does need renovating so I would wait until thats done before staying here again.
In my view there are two basic essentials a hotel must offer. First is cleanliness and the Valeiro is certainly clean. The second is to get a good nights rest. In this instance the hotel let itself down as firstly the bed we had was so creaky that the slightest movement made us think someone was at the door and secondly I think if someone had sneezed in the corridors or a room adjacent we would have said "bless you". The location of the hotel is great and the view over the sea from our room was superb we just missed some sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Old fashioned and not really comfortable. The beds were very hard, light in the bathroom was so so, as was the lighting of the room. No lift. Wifi not very good. Very friendly staff, simple breakfast. Sines is a town to visit once, as far as I am concerned.
The hotel rooms have a great view over the sea (Vasco da Gama Beach), staff friendly and good breakfast! You pay for a 2 star hotel, so cant expect 5 star service. Minimal room, but clean and great balcony. Id say it beats many 3 stars ive seen. Breakfast has fruit and real nutella. In the heart of the city centre, a few steps to the beach, restaurants and castle. (And supermarket and pharmacy.) I absolutely reccommend this hotel! Simple, but good.
If you ask for a room with sea views, then you are ok. The views to the bay are wonderful. The hotel is a bit worn down, but the service is good, breakfast is just fine. It's difficult to park near the hotel and there are good food in restaurants nearby.
I spent the night here with my wife, the staff was super nice, the room was clean and comfortable, no ocean view for us we didnt asked for it. The breakfast was nice too and the price was reasonable. Overall it was a good experience.
