Overall the hotel was pretty good, beds were fine, the pillows left something to be desired. But the continental breakfast was fantastic! Judy was kind and welcoming and baked some amazing pastries that were available everyday. Thank you Judy!

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is clean and modern, in a great location a block from Centraal Station, adjacent to tram stop "Weena" through which many of the tram routes go. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast is continental style, with prebooked timeslots; well managed & efficient, all fresh & kept well stocked.

The hotel is a short walk from Central Station and a tram stop for several lines is right by the front door. Check in and out was efficient and friendly. At check in you have to pick a half hour slot for a table to be reserved for you for breakfast the following morning: this reservation must be renewed for each day you stay. Breakfast is totally self service and when we were there staff were constantly replenishing food and drink without quite managing to keep pace with what was needed. Our room was facing a car park and was quiet. Rooms on the other side were facing a main road with trams on and might not be so calm. Unfortunately, we were allocated a room which linked to the next one by an internal door (locked). The occupants of the adjacent room were very noisy and the sound came straight through the partition door with little reduction.

I’ve stayed in worse hotels, but this must be the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever been in. Rooms are tired (although to be fair bathrooms seem to be updated), carpets are stained awfully. On arrival no shower gel, no iron in room (had to use some random conference room with ironing boards set up in?!). Also was initially given a room with 2 singles despite being a single male traveller, took ages for them to find a double despite the fact they apparently weren’t so occupied this week. Also you are given a token for breakfast; you can show up at either 7, 8 or 9am. Apparently anytime between 7:30 and 8:00 is not acceptable as you are given a 30 minute slot only; I did ask and was begrudgingly told I could probably be a little bit late since they were so quiet (wasn’t given a token for the second morning). I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous rule, it wasn’t even a cooked breakfast! Beds are hard and get super hot, pillows are like rocks (all 4 of them). Room air conditioning seems to be on a part time contract contributing to the stuffiness. Pretty noisy from all the trams outside too and the paper thin walls ensure you can hear everything. Also for some reason my room access card randomly stopped working…another trip to reception again. All this for €330 for 2 nights. Rip off - never again.

The good: PERFECT location, by the main train station, shops, and restaurants. Clean rooms. Average breakfast- slices of ham/chicken, cheese and breads. Hard boiled eggs, a small bowl of fruit, and jams/Nutella. Good machine coffee but horrible orange juice. The bad: If you need to iron anything, there's no iron/ironing board in any room. You have to bring your clothes down and they take you to a conference room across from reception that seem to have the only iron in the hotel. When I went there was one other person using it. There's, of course, the awkwardness of crossing the lobby full of people with your clothes and hangers on hand, and then being in the room waiting with another person. To top it off, there is no where to hang the clothes once you are done with the first piece. That was a substandard experience, not what you would expect of any well known hotel chain. I also had issues with the internet. I was not able to connect all week. Luckily there were other places I visited that had better connectivity.

Great location within easy walking distance of the main station, very affordable and the rooms are actually quite large and quiet. If you want a simple and functional hotel for a few nights in Rotterdam, this is ideal. There is parking on site (call the front desk for directions, as Weena is very busy and you could go around and round). No gym of which I am aware but plenty of easy jogging on the streets outside. There was a queue at check in when I arrived, and it seemed to take a while, which was a little irritating. There are also a couple of oddities about the place - the disco blue lighting option in the bathroom being the most memorable one, as well as needing to know when you are going to eat breakfast the next morning - I can see that this might be a problem when the hotel is full, but both mornings I can down breakfast was nowhere near busy, so it seemed a bit of an overkill. It is a pretty standard, no-frills budget hotel breakfast, but the coffee was good. The staff were friendly. For the money paid, fine.

Budget hotel located at a good location, about 5 min walk from central station, and there is a shopping centre nearby (within walking distance). Room was clean and spacious. Customers were assigned to different breakfast time slots due to the smaller size of dinning room The reason of giving 4 stars is there was always long lineup at front desk for check-in during the evenings. Noticed one of the front desk staff took a long time to do a detailed explanation to clients. Understood this is necessary but where there was a long lineup waiting for check-in, the hotel management either had to deploy more staff to help out or the front desk staff had to summarize the explanation to speed things up. The other reason of giving 4 stars is one of the front desk staff looked nasty when I asked for a box of napkin. Not sure why she would give me the nasty look which was their cleaning staff forgot to put a new box in our washroom and I did not make a blame on them. Did she know that I had to spend extra time to go down to the front desk and wait in the long line for a box of napkin because they were short of people and the other front desk staff was spending a lot of time to deal with other client?

We arrived to this hotel only to know that the room was not quite ready for check-in as promised. It was also a bit surprising to find out the bad knowledge of English from the woman at the front desk. A part from this we were quite satisfied with our stay, the room was absolutely up to expectations and in excellent condition. They also have an efficient system in order not to get the breakfast room overcrowded. I have to say that we also appreciated the breakfast, which was small but fresh and tasteful with the exception of some rotten eggs. Efficient check-out procedure is also worth mentioning.

I felt welcomed since the beginning with Daniel, such a welcoming host. He explained me everything and was very detailed and attentive to my questions. The room had a nice view, cleaning was also very well made although I didn't need. And the breakfast, amazing, had a variety of things to choose from. Judith presence made it better, she's so nice and kind made me feel protected in a way just by her explendit service. I love staying in this hotel. My congratulations to the staff and in highlight to this two amazing people that are Judith and Daniel.
