The Rotterdam Marriott Hotel garners a spectrum of opinions; while the value is contentious, with criticisms of being overpriced alongside commendations for its reasonable pricing, guests consistently laud its prime location and cleanliness. The service has received mixed reviews, with instances of both commendable helpfulness and disappointing delays. Travelers enjoy the spacious and pristine rooms, despite some mentions of dated bathrooms and problematic air conditioning. The hotel's ambiance is appreciated for its comfort and cleanliness, and its central location is popular for those looking to explore the city.

This hotel provided EXTRAORDINARY customer service. Due to Paris being at a level 2 travel advisory, I had to scramble to figure out where to go from Brussels with my daughter who's studying aboard in London. When considering Rotterdam, I called and spoke with Noa and her help made me decide to travel here. After making my reservation last night for today, I called Noa (again) and asked if the rooms could accommodate 3 people and if parking is available. She was delightful and very helpful.

Upon check-in, Zuma exemplified great customer service. He was smart, friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel like the most important guest a the hotel. He showed us on a map what to see, where to eat & drink, upgraded our room (the view is fantastic) and even had Stroop waffles sent to our room.

This Marriott is a category 4 but can rival any higher category Marriott including Ritz Carlton in service, location, and style.

Keep up the good work!

We were here for two nights and wish we’d stayed longer. The hotel couldn’t be more centrally located but what makes it special is the team - be it the team at the reception, the hotel bar or breakfast. They are all friendly, professional and ensure that you are greeted with a smile (even behind the plastic screens and Covid masks). The attention to hygiene everywhere in the hotel and the filled dispensers with sanitizing fluid ensure that you feel “safe” when staying here.
The rooms are beautiful and spacious. If there was room for improvement it would be the showers. Most hotels nowadays have handheld shower heads which is very helpful when one is just average in height. However the showers here were only foxes ceiling showers which was a bit challenging.
Thank you to the entire team and we will definitely be back - hopefully someday soon.

As an ex-pat staying in a small apartment in Breda, I couldn't stand staying any longer at home and decided to book a unique half-board getaway in Rotterdam as all the restaurants were closed. I finally chose the Marriott Rotterdam for the lovely building as I am a big fan of architecture. Once I arrived in the room, I was so impressed the hotel upgraded us from an Executive room to a Station facing junior suite that had a breathtaking view of the station. The room on itself was lovely and had all the comfort we needed. However, the station view :) kept me awake even though the beds were very comfy. The restaurant was nice and cosy, and especially the Sticky fish was a delicious treat for us OMG really fantastic taste combination. However, the cheesecake afterwards was tasteless and dry, unfortunately. I was most impressed by the breakfast; usually, it is the most un-personalised hotel experience where the staff is only cleaning up. However, with the pandemic, the hotel placed the buffet on a movable cart that the waiters passed around to serve you making this experience super personal and very pleasant as I didn't need to go 5 times to the buffet as I usualy do.

The manager of the bar area, Iwan, was amazing. Very attentive to details, his staff and the customers. The front desk staff was very accommodating, held our bags while we traveled to Ireland for an evening and put our bags in our room when the airlines had to deliver our lost bag. I would definitely stay there again.

I visited Rotterdam for work and it was suggested to me to stay at this Marriott. It is in a FANTASTIC location as it is directly across the street from the subway station. I was able to take a non stop train from the Amsterdam airport to Rotterdam, then simply cross the street to my hotel which was super amazing after a 8 hour flight. The hotel is very modern and clean; I had a room on the 10th floor. Rooms are updated and incredibly spacious and the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable; I melted into bed every night. Breakfast is expensive of course, but very very good - you can order special eggs, waffles, pancakes, etc off of the menu and enjoy the buffet as well. My last night I had room service and honestly, it was the best meal I had while in the Netherlands.

The staff at the front desk is very proficient. The checkin and checkout is a breeze.

Sleep quality is fine and good noise insulation.

What is great is the location of this property. Just perfect for reaching out any place in rotterdam via public transport.

If need be also ask the reception for zacky chauffeur services if you are in a hurry.

Now onto the things which needs improvement. Room 1218 has a problem that when you start the coffee machine the electricity goes off.. electric wiring problem for this room does not warrant a premium.. charging for this room upgrade was actually a downgrade for us..

Options for the breakfast should be improved.. options are not that great.. but yes one thing that is worth mentioning is the staff at the restaurant.. very prompt.. i like that..

Overall the stay was good but still considering the price paid.. seems there is a scope for improvement..

I recommend this place for sure.. but please do verify of the upgrade to any room is free of trouble..

Very nice hotel in the center of Rotterdam right across from the central train station. I received a friendly welcome, and check-in was extremely fast and efficient. My room on the 8th floor was spacious, with an excellent bed. The bathroom was also spacious and had a bathtub and a separate shower. The mClub is very well-kept, and the breakfast they serve in the morning is delicious. The only downside is that the windows in the room cannot be opened.

We only spent one night here but the staff went above and beyond and we greatly appreciated all of their extra touches. We are Marriott Reward Members and they did acknowledge that. We had two rooms which were a few rooms apart on the same fourth floor. We arrived early via train and were able to leave our luggage with the front desk who had our luggage delivered to our room and waiting for us when we returned from sight seeing. The staff gave us some helpful tips in making our way around Rotterdam which was very much appreciate it. The proximity to the train station made it very convenient. We walked directly out of the train station and across the way to the hotel. We went to Kinderdijks by using the tram just outside the hotel and then riding a waterbus to the windmills. This made it very helpful as we only used public transportation. We returned to the hotel before we headed to Amsterdam for an evening dinner cruise on the canals. It was very easy to get to Amsterdam and we were grateful for a much quieter atmosphere to stay. Our rooms were very quiet and comfortable. There was plenty of room and a comfortable chair to relax in. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet before leaving. October was a quiet time of year to visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Rotterdam. We booked because the hotel is conveniently located across the street from the train, bus, and metro station but the hotel is excellent in its own right.

We had one of the curved window rooms, which was very large even with a rollaway bed. The bathroom is small given the size of the room; the shower is tiny and there isn’t much counter top space. The hotel has thoughtfully placed robes, slippers, and a bottle opener in the rooms. The M Club has a beautiful view and a wonderful evening spread (3-4 hot dishes, cold appetizers, cheese, and dessert). Breakfast in the restaurant was a buffet or you could order off the menu.

Will definitely stay here again if I return and have recommended it to others.

I had to travel in the middle of the pandemic for business reasons. I was booked by the host in the Marriot in Rotterdam. On arrival we found a dark and very depressing lobby, with. very unhelpful staff. We where staying for 1 night, but they insisted that we booked 2 (no intention to). But secretly took 2 nights off the credit card.

We arrived at 21.00 not having to eat, and the hotel was not willing to facilitate any food strange enough. When we asked for a solution we where told we can google for delivery and can eat in our rooms.

On departure the next day we where asked to pay for 2 nights otherwise they would not give us the key to our car.

Utterly disappointing attitude for such a large brand.

It took over 30 minutes wait to get my car back and depart having paid 2 nights iso 1.

Besides this rooms where old, beds very uncomfortable.

If you can avoid it for now recommend you do.

Dear PaulTravel22, Thank you for sharing your experiences from your stay. I am very sorry to hear that you feel this way about your stay. Even though we are extremely grateful for all the feedback we receive from our guests, we want inform that we disagree with some points made in your review. Your reservation has been made via Booking.com for two nights. None of our hosts has been involved during this booking process. Therefore, the reservation has been made by the Booking.com policies which we are not able to change for our guests. We informed you about this at check-in, so you could inform the company which made your reservation for you to contact Booking.com. As well we had contact with the company who booked your reservation at your check-out and we did not charge their card for two nights. We offered them to use the extra night for a stay in the future, since they book with us quite often. Again, I regret the fact that you have experienced your visit this way as this is not what we stand for at The Rotterdam Marriott Hotel. Our guest’s wellbeing is our top priority. Please note that we will share your feedback about our rooms and opening hours of the kitchen with the responsible teams to improve our services in the future.
