We took a cruise to Norway from Amsterdam and were looking for a comfortable hotel to rest off our jet lag before the cruise. Though we love Amsterdam, we’ve been there many times and hotels are very expensive. We decided to think outside the box. Rotterdam is a beautiful city, only a 30 minute train ride from Schiphol. This Marriott is way more convenient to Rotterdam Centraal than any hotel is to Amsterdam Centraal. You literally walk out of the train station and roll your bag right up to the doorstep! Price wise this hotel was less than half the cost of a similar level of service in Amsterdam. Our stay began with a warm, friendly greeting thanking me for my loyalty with an early check in, explanation of my lounge access benefit and an upgraded room. The lobby appears upscale, comfortable and well appointed. They have a full-service restaurant, bar and a 24 hour snack/necessity store. There was always someone available to help if we needed something. Not only is the hotel adjacent to the train station, it is just steps away to the city centre and about a 25 minute walk to the port area. We found the room very comfortable with plush bedding and towels, separate shower and tub, coffee/tea in room, USB plugs, a couch, a desk and great views. The mClub Executive Lounge was nice, on the 12th floor with great views. A nice variety of food was offered at breakfast time and happy hour each day. Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are offered all day. This was one of the nicer lounges we’ve experienced in recent travels. Location, comfort, price and nice staff. What more could we ask for? I’m a pretty critical person (read my other reviews) and could not find any fault in this stay. I recommend the Rotterdam Marriott highly.…

A typical Marriott hotel; the way I have liked it for decades, while travelling for my business. Now, being retired, it's still - for me - the place to stay. If I really have to give some constructive criticism: Guest services from the room, by phone, should be more alert and more professional. After having to wait for quite some time, someone finally answered with "yes hi" .. seriously? My second point would be the M Lounge Club, or what it is supposed to be. Either do it properly, or don't do it at all. But having an absolutely uninterested chap running the place, lacking enthusiasm and focus towards his guests is a total miss. And on top of that, when the tidbits look so poorly, it's an embarrassment to the hotel. Some products go faster than others, so make sure there's a steady refill. Again: do it properly, or don't do it at all. I've seen many hotels, in my life, but this ' experience' was absolutely disappointing. Hence the four stars and not five. And yet .. Marriott hotels will always be the place to stay for me. …

A very nice modern hotel in a very convenient location, offering very pleasant and efficient service. We were there for four nights in a junior suite and had nothing to complain about. We had access to the M Club which was very convenient in the evenings and for a quick breakfast, although the hoice of appetizers could have been better and sometimes they ran out of glassware, etc. but it was a nice place overall. The hotel was just across the main train station and very near shopping and dinning streets, but I have to add that there are no great restaurants nearby, everything is what you expect to find in a mall. However we found no fault at all with the hotel.

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights while he attended a conference in Rotterdam. The location is great…near the centrum where there are lots of shops and restaurants. It’s also right across from the central train station. As Bonvoy platinum members we had lounge access. This was probably one of the nicest lounges we’ve been to. The hours were great, 4 hrs for breakfast and 4 in the evening. The food was plentiful and replenished often. Breakfast had more than enough to start your day. The evening had a wonderful selection of drinks and appetizers. The front desk staff recommended 3 restaurants for us and we were happy with all 3. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel in the center of Rotterdam right across from the central train station. I received a friendly welcome, and check-in was extremely fast and efficient. My room on the 8th floor was spacious, with an excellent bed. The bathroom was also spacious and had a bathtub and a separate shower. The mClub is very well-kept, and the breakfast they serve in the morning is delicious. The only downside is that the windows in the room cannot be opened.

There are some exceptional elements to this hotel. Most include the service and the generally good breakfast. However if you scratch beneath the service there are many flaws: No 24 hour room service Water not being updated regularly Cleaning at erratic times Location very far from harbour area and main eateries Breakfast table included the bar and not nice tables, very oversubscribed Dirty cutlery on a couple of occasions Great hotel but you will be away from the main areas in Rotterdam.

Unfortunately we failed to meet your expectations regarding some areas. My apologies for the inconsistency you observed in regards to the room cleaning and cutlery provision. I regret to learn that the location of the hotel did not meet up with your plans for the city. Of course depending on your plans, your preference for the location differs. When it comes to the proximity to the train station, shopping areas and highlights as the Market Hall and Cube houses, I would say the hotel is conveniently located as those areas are within a 10 minute walking distance. The harbor area is indeed a 30 minute walk and a bit further away. I truly hope we have the pleasure to welcome you back whenever your travels bring you to Rotterdam again. I really liked this Marriott property. It felt new, clean and welcoming. The bar area was cool to hang out after a day out. The member's lounge was very spacious with great views and excellent breakfast, though, unfortunately, the coffee machine was broken 2 of my 3 breakfasts there. The room was spacious and clean. Its location was phenomenal in terms of the train station: across the street. Often in Europe saying you are staying by the train station is a bad thing. Not in Rotterdam! While the core of town was a good walk away, it was easily doable and, worse case, all the trams you'd want to take are off the train station anyway!

Stayed 4 nights for a work trip Good: Very clean Big rooms Comfortable beds Staff are very helpful Good breakfast in a lovely room Location is great Bad: Views from the back of the hotel are grim. Request the front. On the last night the air conditioning malfunctioned, made a lot of noise and disturbed my sleep. Staff did what they could to help, including offering a room switch. Next morning the manager gave me a partial refund for that night stay, which was more than I asked for or expected. Great credit to them for that and I won’t forget it.

Great location and great service. From people in the bar-restaurant (pillars) and from the ladies behind the desk. They respond quick, nice, and to the point. Except when we came with a warning (for a very slippery shower floor) when the response was "I hear you", without any action whatsoever. However, our stay was good. Two point to improve in room 520: (1) shower floor (nearly fell down three times, not having had any alcohol or medication, just saying) and (2) the bed. The mattress was old. It had a whole in the middle. Not good at all.

One great experience!!! Lovely room , excellent location, served very well plus they surprised us for my boyfriends birthday with a small sweets gift and also complimentary drinks from manager , which meant a lot to say the least . Very Grand throughout. Central station also bang opposite. So grateful I booked there x
