Hotel's Favourite
I last stayed at this hotel over 20 years ago. How it has changed. It appears to have undergone a total transformation. I was kindly upgraded as a Hilton Honours diamond member to a King Junior Suite who was a spacious room with work desk and a well-equipped bathroom.
The hostess in the executive lounge was superb. She was very welcoming and clearly took great pride in her job. The happy hour offer in the evening was comprehensive with a very good selection of food and drinks. The lounge is very comfortable and light and modern.
Breakfast did not disappoint. The buffet was varied and included what you might expect as well as some Dutch specialties.
The hotel is very well situated for the shops in the city centre. It is also close to the central station if you are travelling by Eurostar as I was.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to everyone. I am looking forward to a return stay very soon.

Stayed at the Hilton Rotterdam for a weekend during January. The room, on the executive floor, was well appointed and functional although I would have preferred a proper door to a bathroom not a sliding one!
The executive lounge served a great breakfast as well as evening drinks/ canapés which I think were worth the extra cost for access.
The one downside to the hotel was the noise from “boy racers” in posh cars revving up and zooming by the casino opposite at ungodly hours. It’s a shame the local authorities don’t try to do something about it but if this is the norm for downtown Rotterdam (I live in Central London and it was worse than Knightsbridge in the Summer) then really the hotel should do more to soundproof.
Tip: My room was 1011 - perhaps even numbered rooms, facing the other street, would be quieter.
The executive lounge served a great breakfast as well as evening drinks/ canapés which I think were worth the extra cost for access.

When booking this hotel it is relevant to know that the hotel has a great location Overall most staff members are very friendly and truly want to help. The BF is great, although I hope the hotel stops forcing guests to use a plastic disposable gloves (nasty for the environment). There are other ways to comply with COVID safety and still serve a buffet. But as said, the BF is really nice! What I also appreciated is the sanitation level. The rooms seem to be very clean.
On to the negatives. The hotel has 1 main issues in my opinion; there is no bedding system. The mattresses lay on a thick wooden plank. Terrible. Not 5 star worthy. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and consider a solid bedding system fundamental. This is being penny wise and pound stupid. The hotel claims that some guests love sleeping on this wooden plank. I guess this is different for each person, but for us it did not meet our expectations. Even with an extra topper, it is still extremely firm and low comfort. If they change this, we would love to come back.

I had booked a city one night trip, just to get out of the house during these uncertain times. I booked a Junior Suite which came with access to the executive lounge with unlimited snacks and drinks from 18:00-22:00. I found out when I arrived at the hotel that there is no executive lounge due to Covid and they had placed some snacks and two tiny bottled of wine in the room. Which was okay.
The room did not have working telephone and the AC was not working. I asked them to have it checked. They suggested i should be moved to another room instead. Which they did very quickly. Now the next room TV, Refridgrator and coffee machine did not work. someone came to look at it and was busy with for 30 mins in the room and at the end he said he will make sure i get coffee sent in the room in the morning. which never happend.
They did not change my room number in the system, so when i arrived to have breakfast, they asked me if had made a reservation for breakfast. Later we found out i was still registerd under the inital room number and then i could have my alreday paid breakfast.
At the time of Checkout the staff did not bother to even ask if i had a good stay or if everything was okay. They just said we will charge yoru credit card and thank you.
I booked this stay to relax and i did everything but that.

An exquisite experience!
Staying in the heart of Rotterdam for a few days
The rooms are quiet, clean and modern… The breakfast is a five star dining extravaganza… Custom-made fruit, smoothies, fresh-baked on site, pastries… Bicycles available at the front desk for a modest charge.
I’ll be staying here again for sure!

When considering a stay in the Rotterdam Hilton, the following might be useful info. Nice position in the city is the main asset. The lobby is not very welcoming. The space seems too big and the colours too beige. There is an executive lounge that might be fun when serviced and -therefore- used by guests. The rooms are not big and the bathroom too small for a five star establishment. Good shower, no bath. But it seems there are rooms that have both. The bed is hard, even with the requested topper. For the rest a good space. The bar is tended by kind youngsters who do not know what a Manhattan is but with Google assistance make a rather good one. Dinner at JAQ is simply tasty. Breakfast is a disappointment as the ‘American Pancakes’ are the ready made ones from the supermarket I once tried at home and only need a microwave to heat them. Attractively presented but PLEASE make your own.
So would I go again? Yes. Rotterdam does not have a great choice in the city center. There is a Marriott around the corner but, well, it is a Hilton that offered my family a good and comfortable time years ago. I would send them a message beforehand though, about what can be done to get back to what Rotterdam Hilton stood for. Perhaps it is all about the presence of a few of those experienced staff we ran into way back then. A true 5 star city hotel needs them.

Excellent hotel, centrally located in Rotterdam near city centre and train station.
We recently stayed here for 2 nights and we booked a club room with lounge access.
Hotel was reasonably priced for Rotterdam, we stayed here and took the train to Amsterdam because hotels were half the price in Rotterdam. Train station was 10 mins walk and connections to Amsterdam were quick and easy.
Parking is chargeable and off site - about 10 mins walk. Was a little unclear about this. This was a little expensive but expected for city centre parking.
Room was large and spacious. Very modern and clean. They provided our son with a put up bed and we had a top floor room with nice views. Breakfast was served in the club lounge, and we had complimentary snacks and drinks in the early evening including wine and alcohol. Overall a very nice stay. Hotel is very modern and centrally located for those wanting to explore. Highly recommended.

We had two interconnecting rooms which were both clean and spacious with good views of the city and comfortable beds. The location is excellent, lots of restaurants and shops nearby and easy to get to other parts of the city. The measures taken to respond to Covid seemed appropriate and well managed, particularly the breakfast buffet which was replaced with a range of breakfast options served on trays, the Energizer menu was delicious. The service at the front desk was a little slow, and despite having booked parking as part of our advance rate, there was some confusion over this. But otherwise we had a comfortable stay in this very central location.

In my world the Hilton conjured up images of a grandiose establishment but reality sometimes bites. Our stay was not a bad experience , however I felt that the room and lobby although clean was dated, back to the seven tee's. The huge loose carpet in the lobby looked grubby. The room was supposed to be serviced daily , but we had to ask for things to be cleaned. No complimentary water, no expresso machine in the room just a kettle. waiting in a que to ask for help. From the moment you walk in to the lobby, the décor is dated, cold and unwelcoming, much like the weather at the time, the staff did warm things up a bit, friendly and helpful, the lifts were old and temperamental, only complimentary filter coffee on offer in the lobby although there where basic pastries on offer, a good cup chino with the pastry would have gone a long way, guests love complimentary stuff. The location was good a few blocks away from Central Station, with tram stops across from the hotel . We prefer a more personal feel and the previous hotel we stayed in, delivered that and offered more and cost less. I think more suited to a corporate clientele.

Sorry I can’t give good answer for streaming as I don’t do that but normal WiFi is good
Dear guest, indeed you would need an adapter for your electrical devices in the Dutch Hilton hotels. A hairdryer is available in your room already. We do have a limited amount of adapters available at the reception. Should you need any other information, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
