Hotel New York is located in the beautiful former headquarters of the Holland America Line, situated on the banks of the river Maas in Rotterdam in The Netherlands.A visit to Hotel New York is both a journey into the past and into the future. The nostalgic building symbolizes the departure of many emigrants with hope and tension of their new homeland. The agitated history is still touchable in the building: many pictures and suitcases of the emigrants, as well as the 6 former board rooms are keeping the history alive.Hotel New York has 72 exceptional hotel rooms, 7 unique halls and meeting rooms. The ground floor features a large café-restaurant, where 400 guests can enjoy an extensive or simple a-la-carte meal in any price category from early in the morning until late at night. High ceilings, colourful lights, sturdy nautical elements and robust tubes and pillars provide a maritime and industrial atmosphere, where everyone feels at home!

A very unique hotel that managed to maintain the original character of the cruise line headquarters it used to house. Our river view room was spacious and very comfortable. The shower was glorious and the bed super comfortable. Breakfast was also quite good, especially the fresh orange juice and egg station. A few minor points: I would have put underfloor hearing the bathroom, since the tiles were ice cold and the towel heater wasn’t strong enough to heat the bathroom. The floor length curtains block the radiators, so I would have made those shorter. And finally, housekeeping entered the room before we checked out, luckily I at least had underwear on

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel New York. Always a party! The rooms are lovely, the staff are so attentive and friendly. We definitely recommend the breakfast, we have never enjoyed such a delicious and extensive breakfast in a hotel! The hotel is a perfect base from which all interesting places can be easily reached. This is a vibrant city with wonderful cultural offerings, there is so much to see!

This is a historic building, the former home of Holland Amerika Lijn. The building retains its history and character. As a result, this is not a modern new build, but rather a proud, historic building, still able to boast of 21st century comforts. The reception is rather hidden away, as the ground floor is mainly dedicated to the restaurant, bar and wonderful terrace (a must try in the sun). The food at the restaurant was very good and it was lovely to have a drink at the bar. Due to its popularity, it can get crowded, so book in advance. Reception staff are very pleasant and check in was seamless. I also borrowed an iron and board from the reception as the rooms don't have one. The hotel has a smallish lift, but a wide, ornate staircase. The rooms are on the upper floors and all slightly different. Mine was large with a good view of the Maas. My room also had a bath in the room and a regular walk-in shower in the bathroom. Flatscreen tv, safe and coffee machine were all present (thankfully no instant coffee). The rooms had excellent temperature control, which is fabulous. Perhaps due to the age of the building, you could hear some noises through the wall, but this was the only negative comment. The hotel is in a lovely area on the south of the Maas, by Erasmus Bridge. This area is super trendy and actually much nicer to stay in. There are a couple of other hotels nearby (NHow, Bruno) and a wonderful food hall. The cruise terminal is a couple of steps away and the water taxi office is right here. All in all, I would recommend staying here, over the city centre, as it is only a short walk away.

I stayed in the hotel on invitation of a business relation so we could all attend the Maritime Award Gala. The room was far from the standard rooms you see in other hotels. My rooms was very spacious with large window to two sides of the building providing a very nice view over the port of Rotterdam. I had a very good sleep and a perfect breakfast in the morning.

What a great hotel! It is full of history and tradition. It was the perfect choice both for location and a precursor to our voyage to Nieuw Amsterdam. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked the tower room. A great quirky experience and a phenomenal view. We were able to easily explore Rotterdam.

Outstanding deep feeling of historical times of twenty century American immigration wave. Really historical building near piers, stylish and decorating. Clean rooms, outstanding breakfast in ground level restaurant (dinner as well), best restaurant staff. Some remarks - front side provides stunning river view , but inner rooms or raer side aren't give any view. The hotel is not cheap!

Nice hotel in the former Holland America headquarters building. Great location overlooking the harbor. It's a short walk to the metro and trams and the water taxi is right out the front door. Front desk was super helpful, Gesse helped us find a laundromat and offered some fun travel advice. We will stay there again on our next trip to Rotterdam.

Let me start by saying that although the location is beautiful and the room was spacious (we booked the suite after all), I can't remember the last time I was literally disgusted by the condition of a hotel accommodation. Saying that the room was filthy would be an understatement. Some examples: - The coffee cups we were supposed to use had stains from previous guests. - There was tons of dust and other unspecified organic (?) material behind our night stands. Really disgusting. - The blinds were covered in a thick layer of dust. - The window glass was dirty and covered in stains and dust. - There was a binocular next to the window which I think it was meant for the guests to use, but when I picked It up I noticed it was dirty, covered in dust and a hair was stuck on it from a previous occupant. - The room was generally so filthy to the point that I think a renovation is in order. I have a very mild dust allergy, and I started to sneeze uncontrollably after entering the room, something that never happened to me before in a hotel room. Now, I would probably accept this from a small motel in the outskirts of the city, but not from a suite in a 4 stars hotel in the center of Rotterdam, which cost over 400 euros a night. I am truly disappointed. I am attaching photos to this review so that it's possible to see what I am referring to.

This is a very good hotel, in a historic building. Big rooms, nicely decorated. Very good restaurant in. The hotel. Great breakfast and a location with magnificent views on the city of Rotterdam. Staff is very friendly and efficient. And if you come by car, public parking directly at the hotel.

We were restaurant guests only, prior to boarding a Holland America ship. The wait staff were friendly. The kitchen staff cheerfully accommodated my need for Gluten-free, Dairy & Egg-Free foods. I enjoyed the avocado “toast” and watermelon salad (feta on the side for one of my guests). Mom raves about her croquettes. Favorable pricing. Large dining area
