Very sophisticated, mid century modern beautifully simple design, understated luxury, a great night’s sleep. Very good breakfast, excellent service. If I had to say something that would be the inability to adjust the air conditioning, very very cold! The hotel is new and everything is spotless clean, very well lit, very high room ceiling, light, airy, quite, abt 10 minutes drive from Rotterdam airport, about 15 minutes walk to the cube houses and the Markethall. I was really and obviously positively surprised about the originality and sense of comfort that this modern looking place suggested to me. No noise in the hotel. The staff was competent and with respect to the hygiene rules they were precise to apply the known directives concerning the Covidaffair (not evident in the netherland) Breakfast? As it should be for a good hotel.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at this hotel. It’s beautifully decorated with very nice rooms. Also dinner and breakfast were all you could wish for, and it’s nice to have a drink in the bar. Staff is very friendly and the location is almost directly at the entrance of the metro, so you can discover all of Rotterdam and the citycenter is a short stroll away. No complains whatsoever!

Visually, the rooms are attractive. However, the commode area is in a separate little room; and the shower and sink are in another little room, located on the opposite side of the suite. Besides being highly impractical and unsanitary, it is dangerous to navigate across a darkened room during the night. Too bad, because the location is excellent, with a restaurants, shopping, and the subway station all close by. Unfortunately, Marriott really goofed on the design.

Our family stayed here for 7 nights at the end of Nov.
The hotel was located at a wonderful location in Rotterdam. Less than 10 minute walk to Blaak and Markethall which was important to us. All our day trips started from Blaak and all of our dinners were at the Markethall. Having easy access to those 2 places along with 3 closed by grocery stores (Albert Heijn, Dirk, and Aldi), made our trip with a baby easier.
Our check in process was simple and efficient. I informed them of our early arrival (14:00) our room was ready when we arrived, along with a great crib. We had breakfast downstairs every single day, and every staff we encountered was helpful and friendly.
We wanted some separation in the room from the baby, since she sleeps at 8pm while we sleep at 11pm. the corner room we were given on the 6th floor did a good job at that. Although the lighting in the room was a bit lacking, but it didn't feel dingy and uncomfortable. Floor heating was a nice touch, which made the crawling baby very happy in the winter.
Our room was cleaned every day in the afternoon after the baby's first nap and before the baby's second nap which was very much appreciated. the staffs accommodated all of our requests quickly and efficiently. They have also acknowledged my Platinum status and asked for my preference in gifts.
WiFi worked perfectly through out our stay. Using the hotel as a base, we were able to quickly get to cities like Den Haag, Gouda, Delft, Schiedam, Dordrecht, and Delfshaven from Blaak. With quick access to Metro and Tram, we were able to also explore what Rotterdam had to offer. Our room had a shower and a bathtub, although the shower has no door which made a mess of the bathroom. The bathroom amenity was a bit lacking in quality, they should seriously consider upping the quality of the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful, I much appreciate all the hand squeezed juices.
Our stay and points hasn't posted to my account after 2 weeks. Which I am now reporting to Marriott. Hopefully the issue is corrected soon. The stay doesn't even show up on my history for some reason.
Overall it was a wonderful stay and we will def. be back and visit.

According to social media, Slaak Rotterdam opened in Dec 2019. As a Marriott Bonvoy member impressed with the Tribute Portolio thus far, I decided to book at Slaak. The Slaak is about 25 minutes walk to the centre, but I needed to be near Kralingen so the location was good for this trip.
The decor is great, food is too. The room is huge according to European standards. Huge.
I enjoyed the fitness room which had cold A/C. It is a pet peeve of mine when a gym does not have cold air blasting. Everything was new and clean. I just think that they were wasting energy keeping the cooler on even though it was empty (you can ask the staff for refreshments).
Despite the hotel being new, there were noticeable small carpet stains in some hallways and within the room.
The customer service is okay. It seems the hotel front desk staff shares the stand with the host for the Didot 34 restaurant of the hotel? Maybe that is why when re-entering the hotel they are so buy talking amongst themselves they cannot greet their guests? Even upon leaving the hotel to catch the flight back home, the front desk said goodbye to the taxi driver and did not even bother making eye contact with me.
In summary: 1. Big rooms 2. New 3. Customer service is lacking.

I can highly recommend this stylish and modern boutique hotel. Staff is very friendly and supportive, both at the reception desk as well as at breakfast. Design of the communal areas and the rooms are very contemporary, a style that makes a great fit to the contemporary urban style of Rotterdam itself. Center of the city is walking distance and the hotel is easily reached by both car and public transport. All in all a great experience! JC

Had originally planned to stay for two weeks whilst working nearby but job was extended and ended up here for four weeks. Fortunately the hotel was very comfortable, food was excellent when I didn't want to venture further afield, and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant - special mention to Meghan who should be up for happiest Marriot staff member of 2020! Had minor issues with room keys and having to move rooms due to a leak but all were dealt with professionally. The bottle of beer and note left in my room after another long day at site was a small but welcome touch. If I return to Rotterdam then would definitely stay again. Only negative would be the cost of adding breakfast (17 euros per day) if you're only a cereal and toast kind of person.

Don’t usually say this but I was truly blown away with the decor and design of this hotel! We had ‘loft’ room in the older part of the building with high ceilings which was beautifully decorated throughout, with three huge windows which we were able to open - something I really appreciate in hotels.
Large desk and seating area was great for working and for the night we chose to order in, staff even gave us plates and silverware for our order which was a nice touch.
Also really appreciated the separate shower and toilet rooms as well as the underfloor heating, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Didn’t use the restaurant but the bar area was beautifully decorated and had a good atmosphere.
Staff were very friendly and also allowed us to leave luggage upon check out.
Super handy for the tram too and a lidl underneath, would definitely stay again.

Very friendly, very nice hotel. Good price for quality
Food is good, very nice there is a central bar downstairs where you can get a drink for your room.
I have been staying here for a couple of times and they know you by name after a few times!
