We love hostels because of their communal feel and hotels because of their privacy. At CityHub, we combined the two: more than enough ways to mingle AND your very own, private cabin. We call those cabins Hubs.

Really small so don’t expect it to be too comfy. Bathrooms feel unsanitary, don’t like the way we have to go down to get towels if we want to have a shower.. Should keep some in the bathroom. Everytime, I’d go into the shower the lights would turn off because of the light sensors. Everyone is super loud in the morning, I could hear people stomping up and down the corridors and the housekeeping are very loud, they don’t care that guests are sleeping. Receptionists are friendly so the extra star is for them. Got bad recommendations though. Honestly, I wish I stayed in another hotel for the same money. Cityhub shouldn’t be so expensive for what it is.

Great stay - my first time staying in a hostel and I really enjoyed the experience. Everything is very modern and convenient. The location is great and walking distance from lots of tourist attractions and yummy food spots. The hostel is situated in a very vibrant community area, so it can get quite noisy but once you’re inside your hub you don’t hear anything! The hubs themselves are cute and the bed is super spacious - you get the option of a bottom or top hub, I recommend a top hub if you want to feel slightly more comfortable. The hubs have Bluetooth speakers, an app to control lighting and to speak to the host for any issues. My hub was clean but not as clean as I thought it would be, there were some marks on the side, random hairs and the air-con vent was very very dusty. Apart from that, everything else was perfect. You have a wristband that allows you to charge things to your hub, lock up your belongings and open your hub door which I thought was very handy! I really enjoyed my stay and it was a great first hostel experience, would definitely stay with CityHub again as it was a bargain!

After stay at the Copenhagen CityHub I thought why not give this Rotterdam one a go as my experience before was great. Well firstly my god it was noisy, I had requested a quiet pod in the hotel as I'm a very light sleeper (even with earplugs in and pillow overhead lol) . So I was placed near the toilets/showers.... Ding ding ding alarms should have been going off then as the amount of banging those toilets/showers doors and the thumping of the people who sounded like they was thumping past all the pods (request a top pod in future). With ear plugs I was woken up early by other pod users who didn't have a care about anybody else who would have even been asleep as long as the could have a chat in the hall ways as loud as possible. So if you are going out and getting drunk this hotel is perfect for you but if you are on a sightseeing trip and wanting a early night we'll best of luck with that. None of my USB chargers were working in my pod but luckily I had brought a plug with more than 1 socket on it for charging. You get what you pay here and for a single person it's the cheapest option in the city. Lockers are huge and fitted my large suitcase in very easily. Staff very helpful as usual especially the American guy. Would I stay again, I'm afraid I wouldn't at this one as far too noisy for me. Maybe big groups shouldn't be all put on same floor and then they can meet in area downstairs and chat as loud as possible as they want at any time that suits them.

Nice set up in that you self check in and get a wristband which opens all the doors. The staff are very friendly, realised I was out of sorts and took me to my room and even offered a drink. The hub itself is comfortable, nice lighting. Slightly on the warm side for me but you can request a fan. The showers are routinely cleaned, but frustrating having one hair dryer for a room with multiple showers. One point removed because sadly the noise carries here. Other guests aren’t particularly considerate at not banging doors or stomping and so earplugs are worthwhile. Location itself has been perfect for getting around Rotterdam. There are a lot of bars, places to eat and a coffee shop and Spar close by.

My impression was the place was overseen by one particular 'host'. There were a handful of nice young 'hosts' enjoying their jobs.Generally Dutch people are friendly. Carpet in my hub was dirty as was base of inner door. You get used to the hub.Bring less. Shower gel and shampoo not for sensitive skins.Bring own tea and coffee.Supermarkets nearby do good food options/pastries/bread/salad.Try recommended breakfast once each!Bring ear plugs for revellers running and storming by pods early hours. Party seemed to continue on my floor.I rarely saw anyone in bathroom in a week.Generally OK but not as tidy/clean as I hoped.I generally wiped surfaces shower ledge, loo and sink bay.One loo was ?? on arrival. Dried 'choc' piece? Thought it was a 'fly'. Well situated. Pleasant chill area ground floor.Sometimes people hanging around outside. Safe though...no problems. Secure.

Super cosy sleeping boxes! The wifi signal is good. You can make a beautiful atmosphere in your box with lighting and music. There’s bath robes to use for walks to the bathroom / shower. There’s soap, shower gel and shampoo in the bathrooms and showers.

We stayed in Cityhub Rotterdam for 3 nights. The hub is great for a few nights stay, the common areas were really clean and we slept there really good! I'm sure it depends a little of the people who are your "neighbours" but still. It was also nice to eat evening snacks/breakfast at the lobby, where you got for example coffee/tea/alcoholic drinks quite cheap to drink and great staff who you can ask anything. Would absolutely recommend this place to stay in!

Stayed here for two multi-nigh stays. I have always wanted to try the pod concept and this was certainly a nice way to start. Spotlessly clean, white crisp sheets and duvet, towels and bathrobes provided. Funky lighting that I controlled from an app on my phone, handy USB chargers on each side of the bed. I booked a double pod for myself and would have found it a bit hard/small to share with my husband but as I was travelling along on this occasion it was great. I found the bathrooms were always spotless and rarely encountered anyone else in them. The showers had amazing water pressure and great temperature control. One night was rather noisy as a young group of party-animals was staying on my floor and they were very drunk and loud; that was annoying but I had brought headphones will me and just listened to music until they all passed out.

An interesting place, one could almost envisage space travel to be like this: the rooms are really 2 opposite hubs with separate entrance doors on opposite sides. In effect your neighbours are sleeping below or above you, depending on their choice of hub. The staff are lovely, very helpful but also very young. This is a place for young, limber, tech savvy 20 to 30 somethings, not for the older, weary boned. That was my own fault, I chose the cheapest option without checking the place out. The facilities are OK, the nice thing is you can bring in whatever you want and consume it wherever, there is no restaurant and whatever bar there is is self service, if there is licenced staff that is, otherwise it stays shut, but there is a communal area where teas and coffees from the vending machines can be consumed. The toilet and washing facilities are not en-suite, which means they are all heavily used, especially during a weekend like the one just gone when it is very busy and the place is full. In that respect they are fairly clean but I expected multiple cleans a day due to usage, and that did not happen A big plus of course was the geographical location, at the beginning of De Witte de Wit straat in the centre of Rotterdam. Incredibly busy part of the city, and yet no problems with noise inside In summary, a nice place if you are looking for a bed only, in between pub visits, and are not too fussed about creature comforts

We only stayed at Cityhub for two nights and that was great experience, staff were very nice and friendly. A bit more expensive than we thought but they deserved the extra cost. Most definitely we will be back to Cityhub again.
