The H2OTEL Rotterdam is a hit for its cozy atmosphere and unique long boat design, with guests frequently commending the well-lit, stylish rooms and the friendly service that boosts their stay. Its central location is a favorite among travelers, offering easy access to city attractions.
While rooms are celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, some guests have noted issues with natural lighting and noise. The on-site restaurant with picturesque views and a varied breakfast selection is also a highlight, though opinions on value vary due to additional costs and basic facilities.

Detailed Reviews
Glad to have spent the weekend with the hotel. Worth the money, but honestly for a little bit more, we could have gotten a better room at a neighbor hotel. Had a good stay and it was worth it especially for the unique boat hotel experience but probably not staying here again in the future.
Pro's:
> location. About 10mins walk to the erasmusbrug, 4mins walk away from markthal, the cube houses, and Rotterdam Blaak station where you can ride the tram, metro, and train.
> staff was friendly and accomodating
> you get a €5 voucher for being green and not opting for room cleaning services (min 2 nights stay). I really dislike having the room cleaned if it's just me staying anyway, but with Corona, this is even the safer option we figured. We would rather not have anyone enter the room, especially considering that cleaning personnel would go from one room to another.
> pizza from the resto smelled absolutely delicious (we regret that we didn't get to order)
> room had aircon and it was working and kept room cold (very important for me who loves the cold)
> had hot water kettle, instant coffee, sugar, and cream
> had soap and towels (no toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush unlike other hotels)
Con's:
> biggest con is that we absolutely hated the bed and pillows. I knew people who complained of soft beds but I never got that experience until a stay with this hotel. You sit on the bed and you sink so much into it already. Even the pillows were useless and were even more like throw cushions. This was the most unbearable part of our stay here, but we managed since it was only for the weekend. We woke up on day2 with sore back and had difficulty getting up from the sinking bed due to our already sore legs (from all the walking we had the previous day)
>not a big deal but I didn't like how for the lower rooms, you had to access them by entering thru the lobby. Would have been great if we could access them from the back instead.
> restaurant closed at 9pm. So if you want some midnight snack, you'd need to order it early and eat cold food. Also, if you came in late (like us), again, you can't order anymore. They also opened late in the day at 2pm.so we were really wanting to order pizza for breakfast but if we did, that would mean cold pizza for bfast
> no refrigerator in the room
> no microwave (so yes, cold pizzas)

We had a wedding in Rotterdam on Vessel 11 and since our kids couldn't stay up till the end, we were looking for a hotel close to the venue.
Ibis city center didn't have a breakfast buffet due to COVID-19, something the kids were really looking forward to. So we rebooked to H2otel, two junior twin rooms with breakfast.
Good location, on the edge of the city center pedestrian area.
Staff was very friendly. We asked for two keys for the room our kids would be staying in, that was no problem at all. Rooms were small, but fine for one night stay, on water level. There was no window that could be opened, but the airco provided cool air. In the room the kids were staying in the airco was on when we came back to the room, which was very kind of the staff.
Basic amenities are present, but one room had an alarm and the other didn't. Nice shower, be careful not to flood the bathroom.
Breakfast was fine, not very elaborate, but plenty of choices.
We prebooked parking at Wijnstraat 78 trough parkong bee with a reduced rate.

I am from Rotterdam myself and my girlfriend and me stayed in the H2otel for 3 days. We're both really difficult sleepers so we're always having problems sleeping in places that are not our home. The only negative thing I can think of is the noise the air-circulation makes but the lovely people of the hotel provided earplugs and so we slept like a baby. The room was a very cozy (small) room with a nice window to look out to the water. The people who work there all we're very helpfull and are always smiling. The food they make in the restaurant was very good. The hotel was very quiet in the night so you can get a nice sleep. The energy of the people who work there will make your stay very plesant. The vibe of the hotel (that is a boat on the water, that's why the name is H20 tel) is very nice and I will recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to stay in the centre of Rotterdam for a good price.

We saw few ads for H2otel and thought that it would be a great place for our weekend getaway. But the photos are outdated and misleading and the "private" terrace that we paid extra for was actually shared with others.
There are no fridges in the rooms, water damage on the wall, mold in the bathroom and the front desk staff are pretty unhelpful...
The hotel is in a prime location but there are other hotels in the area that could give you a better experience for either the same price or cheaper.

Location of the hotel is very central, room is good size although there are two single beds even if we booked one double on booking.com. We found dust on the floor in our room which was removed later on when highlighted. So from cleaning view point it was not a great experience considering we paid 130 euros for one night.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel from check in until it was time to leave.
But then the downside came when I got a call from reception at 11am to leave the room, when I had actually upon check-in, gotten permission to stay until 12 noon.
Then when returning the room key, I had one more complimentary drink voucher I wanted to use for a coffee but then when that took more than 5 minutes as the lady was running around looking for items I opted for a fanta instead but the girl at reception did not even know if I could get the fanta with the drink voucher and told me I had to pay for the cold beverage. This totally baffled me and put a damper on my experience because I cannot understand why someone works reception and does not even know the basics. (upon check in I had already used 1 of 2 complimentary drink vouchers for a fanta, as was offered by the guy who welcomed us upon arrival).
I loved the location and would love to return if staff were trained on every miniscule thing.

It was okay. The view was good, we had a private terrace so that was nice.
The bathroom could use some improvements, there was a heater, because there is no other heating in the room, that was so rusted that it looked bad. It was also missing a wheel. There are no mini fridges too, we ordered a bottle of Cava but there was no fridge to cool it. A big help was that we had the terrace.
The double beds are two separate beds next to each other, so they drift apart.
Also, the day after we spend the night housekeeping knocked on the door. There was no no-disturb card to hang on the door so we told them it was not needed (no problem). After a hour another person knocked on the door from housekeeping that we had to answer. He asked if his colleagues cleaned the room. So we had to tell again that it was not needed. It was weird that someone came to check…
On Sunday the fire alarm went off for two seconds in the morning aswel, there was no fire drill or anything…
It was a messy stay with a lot of unnecessary hiccups.

The hotel is very centrally located, which is its main, and important, quality. The price is definitely ok for what you get!
We had an upper deck room, with little (shared) terrace attached (it was a bit scruffy, but it was winter as well). Not much daylight in the room itself, véry small window.
Room is well equipped with large bathroom and room itself also large enough.
Breakfast (which is optional) is not worth the price though. Enough charming places nearby which offer much more choice and better quality for the same price.
(Summary: definitely no complaints, but no enthusiasm either.)

We liked our stay at the H2Otel and the good location especially. You can reach the city center very quickly and have a wide range of good cafes, restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. We walked around the city all day and were able to see a lot from there.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
A hotel on a boat is of course also a nice thing and has a special charm. The room itself was not bad, but did not excite us positively either. At one night, it was a bit too loud for sleeping with an open window, but that is the price for a central location. With the window closed it was fine.
A hair dryer would have been a nice thing. We did not find one in our room.
All in all, a pleasant visit. The Hotel is - especially for short trips to Rotterdam - a good address.

Stayed at H20tel for the first time in the Junior Room.
The room was much smaller than anticipated, from the pictures that are available online. The AC installed in the room operated at a very low power, so we became quite warm overnight. The bathroom had all the basic amenities needed, and the water pressure was good, but lack of a proper shower curtain made the entire space wet fast. Breakfast was quite disappointing, as no warm options were available when we got to the restaurant. The only truly redeeming factors of the hotel were the friendly staff at the reception and the great location.
In a nutshell, the hotel has much to improve upon and we will not be returning until then.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We have a few parking spaces at our disposal in the parking garage near H2OTEL. These cost are €17,50 a day, from checking in at 3PM until checking out at 11AM the next day.
The maximum drive-through-height is 1.85m (6 foot). Due to limited availability we advise you to reserve a parking space in advance.
Sincerely, H2OTEL
Hi, the room we had was big enough for a travel cot, but I don't know if they provide them.
Regards Wilma
Which port do you mean? Rotterdam has several ports. You can see a lot of them by Spido, a company that organises regular boat trips for tourists through big parts of the harbour. You can walk to Spido (under the Erasmusbridge) in 15 minutes from the hotel.
