I along with my family booked 2 rooms for One night & and totally loved this Swiss chalet hotel with the lovely view of Matterhorn mountain . Mr. Friedmann at the Reception was very helpful and a nice gentleman.. Rooms and breakfast was also very nice and location of the hotel is just perfect in the mountains. I would surely stay here again for my next trip and recommend this hotel to all.
We have stayed at a number of hotels in Zermatt over the years but found this to be one of the best:. Comfortable rooms, good breakfast and dinner. Professional and enthusiastic staff. The Maitre d' in the restaurant and driver who collected us from the station in the hotel taxi deserve special mention. All areas of the hotel were spotless and well furnished. Comfortable lounge/bar. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.
First impressions were not great (misunderstanding about free pick up from the station) but this is a good place to stay...not flash but clean and well appointed..breakfasts were good and the bonus is our room had a balcony overlooking the Matterhorn.
A very cozy hotel situated very close to the center of Zermatt and the slopes! Extremely friendly staff, both at the reception and in the restaurant. Great breakfast buffet, varied and fresh offer. Delicious meals for dinner, and a great idea to include a picnic package for lunch. The manager was especially kind and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Holiday and look forward to coming back next season!
The location was good. We could see Matterhorn through the window. Only bad thing about the hotel is that the staff was unfriendly, actually very rude sometimes. During the breakfast, one guy showed us the table and then he left. There was no one around, so my wife took a coffee from the machine. Then the guy has returned and scolded my wife that she is not allowed to do that, but there were no signs. One evening, we wanted to celebrate in private, so we brought a champagne bottle and asked for glasses. The guy first thought we wanted to buy a champagne and when he realized we only wanted glasses, he was rude apparently. I would rate this with 3 stars only considering the location and view.
We spend 4 days in this very comfortable hotel, with very helpful and kind staff. We enjoyed a great view on Matterhorn from our room. The summer special offer included morning yoga with Laurence, we greatly appreciated it! Together with a good breakfast it gave us a great start into active days in the mountains! Thanks a lot!
Jun 15-16: After the train journey from Zurich, we were picked up by the hotel in the electric cars which roam Zermatt. The check in was smooth. The rooms are good sized, comfy with balcony space. The beds are nice and the night was pretty warm and we didn't feel the cold. The breakfast for Indians who are not non-vegeterians is limited to bread and fruits. Otherwise, boiled eggs are available. We were charged for omlette as it was not included. There is a variety of cold meats and yoghurt. The croissant is amazing - really light and melt in mouth. I remember having a similar one in Hermanus in South Africa. The staff was good and service for breakfast was excellent. Very helpful at the reception in guiding us for things to do in Zermatt. Sunnegga Express point is at a walking distance and even the main station is not very far off. Even the bus stop to go to Matterhorn is at a short walk. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommended it.…
We had an excellent stay at this hotel; we were so impressed by the room that we decided to stay an extra night and the staff were more than happy to help. Beds really comfy and room super tidy. Breakfast was a treat too. The view from the room was the best part - it was impossible to beat! Would definitely stay again if we return to Zermatt.
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights which is a short walk downhill from the train station. We were picked up from the train station but it is easy to walk as there are no stairs. The hotel was modern and well maintained. We had half board and the food was excellent. We really couldn’t fault the food and the staff were very nice. The only issue we had was that the shower points sideways in the bath so it almost impossible to have a shower without making the whole bathroom wet. We thought it should have been rated higher than a 3 star. We would certainly stay again.
We spent one night in this hotel in July. From the Bahnhof we walked about 20 minutes with steady incline to the hotel. We stayed on the 4th floor facing north. The rooms on the 4th floor facing south have a fantastic view of the Matterhorn from the balcony. I don't believe that the floors below the top level have this view. Our bathroom had a great skylight over the shower for natural light. While the room and bathroom were clean, no toiletries were provided except for a bottle of shower gel. The breakfast consisted of breads, cheese, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cereals, and coffee/juice. Additional breakfast items could be purchased. Service for breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was clean and pleasantly decorated. All staff were polite and very helpful. Transportation was available but we did not use it since we were walking everywhere. It was a 20 minute walk to the Glacier Paradise office and a Coop was available near the Bahnhof, a 10 minute walk from the hotel.…
