A long story short, the air conditioning unit in our room wasn't working properly. When we complained to the front desk, they acted as if the a/c was working fine and told us to give it another hour to cool down the room - this after waiting 3 hours for it to cool down. We said we would but if it didn't we wanted a room change . They said that was impossible because the hotel was fully booked. After waiting SEVERAL hours, there was no change. 27 degrees in the room. So, we asked for a room change again. A different man working at the front desk at that hour (11 pm) explained that the a/c unit wasn't working properly because it needed gas. They put us in a room in the attic that they don't rent out - low ceiling, no windows, no view. But the a/c worked like a charm. Why they didn't offer us that room when we first asked is beyond me. Anyway, the next day, we explained that our experience at the hotel was far from what we expected and paid for, and we expected some kind of a discount on the room. (I forgot to mention that the hot water tap in our room broke off and they had to get a plumber in to repair it.) They refused to make amends for our troubles and suggested that 27 degrees in a hotel room was quite acceptable. Anyway, very disappointing stay at this hotel.…
We stayed in this hotel for one night as it was close to Pisa airport which we were flying out of the next day after a week of staying in Florence. The hotel was pretty terrible, the bed was so hard it probably would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor. We had 2 pillows which were as flat as pancakes on the double bed, so one each! The air conditioning unit was about 20 years old and did not work properly, it was roasting as there is a heatwave there at the minute. The furniture was old, battered and dirty. We had a view of the building next door after being promised either a city or landmark view. There was no minibar as stated in the description. The curtains did not close. It was noisy. The decor is very, very out of date, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures on booking.com, it’s really dated and in severe need of refurbishment. It was far too expensive for what you get, breakfast was not nice. There is no air conditioning in the wider hotel. The TV was tiny and so old there was no picture on most of the channels and it had teletext! I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has such positive reviews! Yes it’s close to the leaning tower of Pisa, that’s the only positive!…
We asked the middle aged bald man at the front desk to call us a cab and he was extremely rude. It seemed he was working hard by doing absolutely nothing, but it was still not an excuse to act like an absolute child. Seriously would not recommend this hotel if this is the kind of staff they employ. He was an embarrassment of the business, and of the city. We visited in the afternoon of July 4, so hopefully they can find out who was working and teach them how to interact with people. Stay somewhere else for a similar price!
Location and price are definitely the plus points of this hotel - 3 mins walk to the tower and onwards into the town centre. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The rooms, while clean, are tired and could do with an update as they were pretty basic. When we arrived in the afternoon there was no hot water but it was so warm outside I welcomed a cold shower and didn't complain. There was warm water the next morning. Breakfast was fine. If you need a one night stay I would recommend, any longer and maybe look elsewhere
The room was extremely hot when we got here. The window was open, but the old air conditioner wasn’t on. We turned it on and it started blowing minimal air. We told the guy at the front desk and he came up. He got it blowing a little better, but that only lasted a couple of minutes. We paid a similar amount for our room in Rome and Florence, but those rooms were much nicer. We’re extremely disappointed and wish we’d booked a different hotel. The room is in poor condition. There are holes in the wall and I have never seen pillows so thin. There’s a total of two pillows on a 2 person bed, which would be fine, but they are both pathetic. There’s no view because there’s a metal screen on the window. Thank goodness we only have one night here!
3 of us , so took a taxi from airport as it is cheaper than going on the shuttle and bus from railway station. The location is the strongest point. You can see the tower from our room and it was a five minute walk. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself is fairly basic. The staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast was good. The only downside was that it could be a little noisy. Excellent value for money.
“Fantastic location with a view on the Tower. Perfect small family hotel, very cozy with an Italian touch and a garden. Super clean, extremely considerate staff, nice breakfast. My favorite in Pisa so far : nothing could match such a location and budget.”
Stayed for 2 nights as a base for a visit to Cinque Terre and the Tower. Good location, very close to the Tower, not central but you are 5 mins away from the centre by bus and neighbourhood is very quiet and safe, definitely better than around the train station. The feeling is that of a family-run hotel, simple and somewhat dated but very clean and the staff were all very nice and helpful. Breakfast could do with a bit more variety. Room has few commodities and lacks a safe but is perfect for a good night's sleep. Overall would return, great value for money.
We stayed here for a night, having been previously a little over 4 years ago, and my report this time is a very similar to before. It’s a simple hotel, but in a great location, two minutes walk from the Leaning Tower (you can see it from some of the rooms). Our room was at the front (there is city noise, but it was not a problem), a reasonable size, plainly decorated, although the bed was fairly hard. The bathroom was small but well-planned, looking as if it had been refitted not long ago. There is a fair choice of good food at breakfast. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall, a good base from which to see Pisa.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Staff were very friendly and polite. Room was large, very clean and bathroom was large. Shower was good but bed a bit hard for us but that was fine as it was only for 2 nights. We had a balcony with a brilliant view of the tower. Breakfast was a very good continental buffet. Lady doing coffees was very nice. You are on a Main Street so expect some noise as you would anywhere else in the world but we slept well. Would stay here again if we visited again. Recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness and good breakfast.
