Right - here we go, I read a few reviews and dreaded arriving at this hotel and do you know what- I’ve stayed in many of hotels and this is not bad - not bad at all.we are staying in a suit room 129 It’s spacious - it’s absolutely fine - do not be put off staying here The hotel is close enough to main attractions and not alot more to say but enjoy 🫶🏻
The hotel is very well presented in the public areas, reception, dining room, stairwells, and breakfast was very good as the service , for this the rating of 4 stars is correct The hotel is let down by the rooms quality of decor , we had a junior suite, the room was clean , however bedding was dated, the bathroom was in disrepair , the door and ceiling rotting wood, the bedroom was no more than 1 star , akin to a 1970s motel If the rooms are planned to be updated, then this would be a very good 4 star hotel Location is excellent for walking to the Leaning Tower, train station, restaurants Staff were great Thank you
Pros: -Staff are helpful when you need help with something. -Clean communal areas. -Shuttle to/from the airport. -A huge spread was put out for breakfast. -Fridge in the room but need to ask reception to turn it on. -10min walk to leaning tower and markets Cons: -Wafer-thin walls all around - could hear neighbours on both sides as well as the bar/restaurant downstairs. - Rooms are dated and worn. socket/switch casings falling off, mould in folds of shower door, and stained curtains. - poor bed situation. My 'double' was 2 single beds pushed together, the blanket felt like a mattress cover and the spare blanket was super itchy. All in an unflattering slimey-brown colour. -Minimal furnishings. Sitting options were the bed or a solid desk chair. - no drinking facilities. Would have really benefitted from a kettle. - Given 1 wifi password for each device you used, it dropped out regularly, so had to keep logging back in.…
We only stayed one night to visit the nearby Leaning Tower and are glad we did not stay longer. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful and the walk to the historical attractions is about 15 - 20 minutes walk which is why we gave it a 2 rating. Now the bad bits. The hotel room was tired and dated and the furniture looked like it had been painted by a kindergarden age kid and was nowhere approaching a 4 star standard. The air con did not work, which was not a big deal as the climate is cooler in November but it should in a 4 star. There were no in room tea and coffee facilities. Wost of all at 06:25am there was a knock at our room door and my wife answered it to find a beggar woman asking for money, which makes you wonder what the security is like. We did not dine at the hotel as we were not impressed with the menu.…
This shows as a 4 star hotel but I would give it a fair 2 stars as deserved. The decor is very dated inside the rooms. It doesn't have the basic essential items such as hand-wash in the toilet. No kettle or tea bags, coffee etc. It doesn't have any water bottles in the fridge. It's very very basic. Their were mosquites in the room which is fine, but some of them had been squashed onto the walls and mirrors and not wiped away by cleaners. The hotel staff at the front desk seemed uninterested in talking to you or making any eye contact, again very basic service. The breakfast was not that of 4star. There were scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages every day we were there. (3nights). No option for vegetarians, everything is mixed with spoons as in scrambled eggs and meat all use same spoon. The only nice thing there was the croissant and doughnuts. The 4stars needs to be taken off and this hotel needs to be given 2 stars. The driver to the airport was very friendly and lovely, happy smile guy. This hotel lacked basic customer service skills, basic hygiene from a 4star hotel. I would never visit this hotel again and would not recommend it. …
We spend a Saturday and Sunday evening here. Nice breakfast was included. The hotel was a little tricky to find from the Centrale Station by bus. However it is actually easier if you take the underpass on Bononno past the hotel. The room was comfortable, had a safe but only provided water on the first day and free wifi for 2 hours per day. Staff all friendly and everything was good. It is around a 20 minute walk to the Duomo and Leaning tower.
Visited Pisa for 5 nights and stayed in this hotel. The hotel is okay its not going to be like a Hilton 5* hotel but its certainly better than a hostel. Lets start with the positives then the negatives. Firstly, good affordable price within a shortish walking distance of the leaning tower of Pisa (I timed it and its about 15 minutes). You get free breakfast which is good because then you don't have to mess around with trying to find somewhere in the morning. Breakfast has a decent range that includes cereal, bacon, sausages etc. Short walk to local train station - now this is both a positive and negative and I will mention the negative later. The positive being its great to use the train on day trips and for transportation to the airport. When staying in this hotel you can cover the main attractions in Pisa in a day so if your staying for longer there are other great options such as getting the train from the local station (5 minute walk from the hotel) to Florence or La Spezia. Now the negatives. Staff are very average. There women are fine but the men did come across as a bit dull. The breakfast, whilst free, was also average but that honestly could just be me being a bit fussy with food as there was a decent amount of variety. The noise. Okay this is the biggest downside to the hotel. Now, the station itself is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. However, the train tack itself is about 200 metres from the front side of the hotel and I'm telling you right now if you think your going to sleep the first night think again becusse it's going to be a lonnngggg night. If your lucky to get a room at the backside of the hotel then it will be slightly better as whilst you will still here the train noise you won't here the road noise from the front side of the hotel. The trains literally run all night as quite a lot of them later in the night tend to be cargo trains and the noise at times is ridiculous. My advice, take some ear plugs as it will help or try and be a bit cheeky and see if you can get a room at the backside of the hotel (no harm in asking) Now this next point for me isn't a negative but could be to some. One thing I noticed alot in Pisa (by the hotel) and on the trains to La Spezia and Florence is the amount of graffiti. Its one of those things, some people like it, others despise it. I'm not a massive graffiti fan but at least the graffiti has a little bit of artistic design to it and not just stupid slang words like you tend to see in my own country in the UK. The graffiti isn't on the hotel but is visible from the balcony at the roadside. To conclude, please do some research such as looking at the hotel on Goggle maps to get a sense of the hotel from an outside perspective. Ultimately, your not spending much of your time at the hotel as your going to be spending your days sightseeing and as I've mentioned it's not the best hotel in the world (far from it) but there's alot worse so on the whole the hotel is OKAY.…
Really nice hotel Comfy bed, room had everything we needed. Reception staff printed us out a map of the local area and highlighted how to get to the tower and them added a really nice walk along the river bank which we would not have done without their recommendation and it was a lovely walk. We only stayed one night and had to leave before breakfast but they did offer to make us a “to go” breakfast which was really kind. Reception staff also arranged a taxi to the airport at our request as their airport shuttle bus didn’t run that early. The taxi was quick, easy and inexpensive. We definitely stay if in Pisa again. Very good value for money and only a 10-15 min walk to the tower
We have stayed in many 4 star hotels all over the world. The reception bar and restaurant area are 4 star class but not the room we were supplied. The room was a standard room at the front of the hotel and the air conditioning was useless, in fact we left on before going out to find room hotter when we returned later. As we were at the front of the hotel once opening window to try and cool the room we could not sleep due to road noise, especially loud motor bikes and the trains which operate close to the hotel. Breakfast was very basic and the toaster was useless. The positive was the girl who tended the bar, she was really good. Would I stay here again no and if booked try and get a room at the rear of the hotel. At check out we were not asked if we had a pleasant stay hence the review.…
A comfortable and convenient hotel. All the basics you need including free parking, no frills. It's a nice stroll to the Leaning Tower (about 20mins). Lady at reception was exceptional! Breakfast can get crowded but fairly extensive options.
