Very nice rooms in a very nice building in a very nice place :) Wonderful breakfast and very nice staff. Handy parking, to which google maps draws a way to convoluted route. The drawbacks are totally overshadowed here, but here goes: The cold water was never cold, the bed cover/blanket is not enough for 2 degrees outside and there were some trucks running their coolers both nights I've been there. But, by all means, I would not hesitate to book again.
We stayed in this hotel for four nights and loved it. The location is convenient to everything in central Lucca. The staff is very friendly and helpful with directions. The breakfast is exceptionally good.
The hotel is conveniently located right on the edge of the walled town, with convenient free parking easily accessible from the main road outside the wall — and particularly good that one could leave the car there after checkout if going into town or to Pisa. It’s a bit far from the railway station, but an east walk to all the sights in Lucca. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable — except that our air conditioning didn’t cool the room. Breakfast was good — eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, breads, pastries and cereals.
Excellent location right beside the walls – which you can walk around in an hour. It is extremely comfortable and quiet. Our room was large and spacious and lacked nothing. Reception staff are first class in every way – helpful, informative, efficient. You really cannot fault this hotel. Highly recommended. They even have car parking right next to the hotel, for a daily charge.
We were delighted with our choice of this hotel. Just inside the city walls it made exploring Lucca very easy as well as there being lots of restaurants very close by. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the breakfast very good - the only one of five hotels where we stayed during our trip that offered smoked salmon! While we liked our room which was very spacious we found the lighting not good enough to read at night and it was disappointing not to have a kettle or coffeemaker or a bottle of water as we found in all other hotels of this calibre.
This hotel is really conveniently located. The reception staff was very welcome and helpful when we arrived which was late on a Friday night. The hotel was very dog friendly (4 paws up). Our room was located on the top floor. The bed was comfortable and there was great water pressure in the shower. The only thing that I would suggest to improve the room was to change the round table and chairs for a better table that you could use to work on a PC and tablet. The breakfast was extensive and you could order eggs as well. We would definitely stay here again.
I went to a trip to Italy with my wife and daughter visiting different places and this hotel was definitely the worst! The bathrooms were very bad and the decor of the room was terrible. The breakfast was the worst breakfast. Everything was poor quality and little options to choose from. But the worst and most awful experience was that the focaccia bread was attacked by ANTS, the watermelon (very bad by the way) was slurped by mosquitos and a couple of flies were swimming in the syrup of the the peach!!! The hygiene measures should improve also. It was a terrible idea to put a PUBLIC SINGLE bowl of water in the middle of the fruit table, inviting guests to sink their hands in the bowl to wash the fruit.( if you don't believe me, see pictures below.)🙄😤😒😒 The staff was trying to be kind but they could't be of much help. This is even more unacceptable for a hotel selling their rooms and breakfast at at FOUR star hotel prices!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER MORE!!!!!!!!!!…
Lucca is a beautiful place and the staff here made our visit even better. The hotel is charming and nicely located. We were greeted by the most engaging gentleman and supporting staff were quick to help with luggage. Another colleague helped with dinner reservations and was wonderful, her recommendation when our top choices were unavailable was outstanding. The bar and patio were clean and perfect to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the ambiance. Rooms were elegant and modern. It was clean and spacious as well. Highly recommended
The location of this picturesque hotel is right in the centre of the city within the walls. Our room was excellent. Really big with a huge bed as well as a separate single bed area. The bathroom had a great bath and shower with robes and slippers supplied. The breakfast was ok, I can’t really give this a full review as I only had fruit and coffee. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I would give this place a 5 out of 5 however the lack of kettle in the room loses a star for me. The staff were accommodating in bringing a pot of hot water in the evening for my tea, however I like to make my own coffee in the morning! Come on guys tea and coffee facilities in the room isn’t difficult! Overall a very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again were I to visit the beautiful city of Lucca. Thanks guys x…
The hotel is very accessible, just inside the city walls, with private parking close to the hotel entrance. The staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending places to visit in the fortified town. The rooms are very quiet and beautifully decorated, large sparkling clean bathrooms, supplied with robes and slippers. The breakfast was amazing, a very varied continental breakfast with plenty of fruit, pastries and cereals as well as a hot option. Bicycles were available if you preferred not to walk!
