Really enjoyed our stay here. Bike for lending and great breakfast with snacks available all day. A wonderful room with great a/c. Alexandria was a pleasant host and her hubby went out of his way to give us a ride back to the train station. Hated to leave this place. They were great about spending a few minutes and giving us tips on things to see and do in Lucca. I would stay here again if I'm in town.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights while site-seeing in "old" Lucca. Our room was at the front of the B & B, close to the busy street, but the noise was barely noticeable. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, and had everything we needed (hair dryer, soap, shampoo/conditioner, shower cap). The breakfast was great: sliced cheese and meat, soft boiled (steamed) eggs, yogurt, delicious cake/pie, cereal, fruit, juice, and coffee. Laura was an excellent hostess; she made sure everyone had enough to eat, and was happy to provide more! Bicycles were available (free) to the guests. We had planned on using them to "ride the walls" in Lucca, but the street traffic was too busy/crowded, and the side walks were almost non-existent. We walked to the old city each day - it took about 15 minutes, and was not difficult (just had to watch the traffic to keep from getting run over). We were able to park our car at the Villa (free), and Laura allowed us to leave it there the morning we checked out for our last site-seeing into Lucca. Beautiful room with a private balcony. Wonderful, helpful staff, who provided suggestions, a map and a beautiful breakfast, we would absolutely stay here again! A 20 minute walk to the city of Lucca, which is a “must-see”, surrounded by Renaissance stone wall with 6 gates or entrances... a hidden gem and history at its’ finest! Beautiful little restaurants throughout... again, a “must-see” for Italian history, beauty and culture! Wineries also only a short drive away. Loved it here!

Stayed in this lovely villa for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Outside the city walls, but within easy walking distance or bike ride (these are free on request!) of all Lucca has to offer. Rooms very clean and quite modern, staff are very friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb - continental style, but boiled eggs cooked to order. Coffee and cakes available all through the day - great after a full day of sightseeing. Just an example of the great attitude of the staff, particularly Laura, when told we had to leave for 0800 on the morning of our departure from Italy she offered to come in an hour early to prepare our breakfasts. Super place made even better by super staff. Highly recommended.

My husband I stayed 4 nights in Villa Alexander. It's about a 10 minute walk to to walls of Lucca. Beautiful, clean room with a comfortable bed and filling breakfast. Laura was wonderful and so helpful She gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat so that we could experience authentic Lucchese cusine. They offer free use of their bicycles, which we took advantage of to ride on the wall loop and explore the historic center.

Our room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The staff member who checked us in could not have been more helpful or informative. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was varied and friendly, good recommendations were given for restaurants and activities. Bicycles were available free for loan and it was a very short cycle to the walled city. Could not recommend more highly.

Our suite of rooms was spacious and very nicely decorated. We had a space for 5 people with two bedrooms and private bath plus foyer. All the amenities including air conditioning. Has bikes you can borrow to ride over to the walled city that is a few blocks away. Nice breakfast. Would give 4.5 if it let me.

Everything is perfect. This villa just located near the old city and has enough place to park cars.The hostess is very kind and she provided us with free bikes to enjoy the city! The breakfast was also excellent. The only regret is that we only spent one night here.....

Great value and excellent location - just a short walk to the walled city. Allesandra is a wonderful host and always willing to provide information; offered to drive us to one of the main gates so we would know the way back. Lovely and comfortable accommodations, generous breakfast and easy parking. Bikes available to ride all day long!
