Plus: great location, good breakfast with delicious coffee and nice rooms. We were not very lucky: the room did not have its own bathroom, and it was still necessary to go down the stairs to reach the common one. It was not very comfortable to do this at night. And because we did not live alone there were other people's things and hair, which is not very pleasant. Minus: when we arrived, the owners were not there and had to take time to call them (they did not pick up the phone for a long time). But the main disadvantage was waiting for us after the check-out: we put high marks on La Terrace in the booking system - 5 and 4 (5 is the maximum), but apparently the owner decided that we did not highly appreciate their hotel and we were followed by a big message that we were terrible guests. You have to understand that we only talked at breakfast: hello, thank you, please. But this is not the main thing, in parting we were told that we need to give the maximum marks, and we honestly gave a few 4. The owners have a painful dependence on the rating. You can’t lose your human face and be rude to guests. Be careful! Anyway Lucca is amazing :-)…
I’m about to have the last of my 4 nights at this wonderful place and I’ll be sorry to say goodbye. We booked the “Royal suite with terrace” as we wanted some outside space . The room is huge, spotlessly clean. The private bathroom has a bath and a separate walk in shower. Our room leads out onto the large terrace which is also where breakfast is served. Breakfast was great! Claudia’s home made cakes are definitely worth a try! Our hosts Daniele and Claudia are fabulous, very welcoming and helpful and will offer assistance with restaurants recommendations etc (with a little help from google translate 😁) Practical things to note. This B&B is located in a very old building in the historic centre of the city. Access to the building is up a flight of stairs. There is no lift so not recommended for those with mobility issues. Also, as mentioned, it’s right in the centre of town, so some noise from the city is to be expected, that can range from delivery people pushing carts alon the cobbles, to an impromptu opera performance from the Antitheatro which is spitting distance away. If you’re looking for a very quiet place to stay...then the centre of Lucca is not for you. Bravo Daniele & Claudia, your B&B is wonderful!…
I made a huge mistake with my travel plans and confirmed a reservation with another bed and breakfast for dates in July - but I was traveling in June! I was referred to Le Terrazze by the other b&b and was lucky that they had a room. What started as panic turned out to be a wonderful outcome. Claudia, the owner, couldn’t have been kinder to me. I had a clean, comfortable room, wonderful breakfast with fantastic cappuccino, and a great location. Would highly recommend!
The owners were very helpful. The location was superb and the room was clean and had a good size. We booked the room with a bathroom inside the room. It was clean and had a bathtub and a shower. I will recommend a taxi from the train station to the bed & breakfast. It takes a 15 minutes walk without luggage. It costs about 11 euro. It´s really central to everything. It´s easy to move around from the the bed & breakfast. Next door is Namaste massage. It´s only 50 euro for an hour with massage and the bed & and breakfast guests get 10% off. The owners help you with everything.
Exceptionally clean, convenient location, and the owner of the inn was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautiful and the breakfast was phenomenal! The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming!
Our family of 3 stayed for 2 nights and this BnB is so perfect. Immaculately clean, beautiful decor, wonderful hosts, amazing breakfast of eggs, toast, hams, cheeses, delicious cakes, fruit and yogurt. Great location to walk everywhere and from the station, one minute to the main square. We had our own bathroom.
Le Terrazze is a beautiful b&b on a quiet side street just a minute's walk from the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, and I loved staying here. My room was very comfortable - and immaculate - and even the shared bathroom was tended to several times a day. The couple owning Le Terrazze is extremely warm and helpful, and they were patient while my train into Lucca was delayed. There is a nice little terrace on the top floor, and it's a nice breezy spot to relax and read. I came by myself, but I think it would be perfect for a group or couples traveling together. Breakfast was really nice, and since it was nice out, it was out on a terrace on the main floor. There were a lot of things I wanted to do in Lucca, but I dawdled a bit and relaxed at breakfast my first day. I had a fabulous stay in Le Terrazze, and I would absolutely come again.…
This b/b is in a wonderful location for Lucca-you can walk to everything. The hosts were very welcoming (they let us drop our bags off early), although their English is limited, they were very helpful. The breakfast was on a nice terrace. They drove us to the train station with our luggage, which was a treat, after all the walking and stairs. They were extremely friendly.
The staff were very welcoming. The room was simply furnished, but very comfortable and very clean. The B&B is in an excellent location for all visitors to the city and close to many of the city's main attractions. It is a 10/15 minute walk from both bus and rail stations.
We stayed at LA Terrazze for 8 nights in September. The B&B is upstairs in a historic building but it's light and airy inside with a lovely terrace for breakfast on sunny days. Our double room was large with big windows and a bath down the hall. Mario and Salvo are very welcoming and helpful and speak English as well as Italian and Spanish - I don't know about other languages. LA Terrazze is in the middle of the city so expect street noise, ear plugs worked fine. Lucca is a wonderful place for a more relaxed vacation in Italy and only an hour by bus from the airport in Florence.
