We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the B&B Arena Di Lucca. Everything was perfect. The room was large and comfortable with super king bed sofa and chair. Spacious on ensuite with lovely shower gel and soaps replenished throughout our stay. We were also provided with bottled water daily. The service was second to none. We were given lots information and recommendation. Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and welcoming. The perfect place to stay for a memorable visit to Lucca. It is situated over looking the piazza where there are many restaurants. Breakfast is taken at the Tre Merli which is just outside the main entrance and they serve a substantial continental breakfast. Wonderful holiday highly recommend
Charming, older B&B overlooking Piazza Anfiteatro and just steps from Via Filunga, the main shopping street of Lucca. Problem was that it should be called an Air B&B rather than B&B since the owner did not appear even once in the three days we stayed there. No one to help with bags or show us our rooms ( he sent a hand drawn map by WhatsApp) or give us suggestions. Only cold, bread options for breakfast at the restaurant across the street. Fine if you are happy communicating by Whatsapp.
I stayed at the B&B Arena di Lucca for 3 nights recently and overall the stay was a very pleasant one. Livia was very helpful with recommendations around the city and was nice to speak to during breakfast. Breakfast itself was a selection of pastries, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurts and fruits with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee and everything I tried I liked. The room is of a decent size with a comfortable bed. The AC was a little noisy, even in it's quiet mode but I simply turned it off before falling asleep. The location of the B&B is very good, right next to the amphitheatre and in close proximity to a number of restaurants.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this B&B! Alex, the owner, was super helpful in telling us how to arrive and personally greeted us when we got there. He also gave us tips on where to eat, be entertained and offered to arrange side trips for us. The location couldn’t be better. You are in the middle of everything, with many restaurants steps away. Our room was spectacular—it had a balcony overlooking the arena. There was no issue with sound from the restaurants below. The size of the room was large, even by American standards, and had everything we needed. If I’m ever lucky enough the go to Lucca again, I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Alex, for an amazing stay!
This is no B&B but a gracious home with housekeeping of a 5 star hotel. A truly wonderful experience of Lucca. Room and sheets smell wonderful and toiletries first class. Breakfast is of highest quality with freshly pressed orange juice. Proprietor Alex is a great host steep in the history, culture and food of the area. Highly recommended. Don't stay anywhere else when in Lucca.
We had a lovely stay at the B&B Arena, right on the old Roman amphitheater. The place is immaculate, cozy, & well decorated, the staff charming & helpful. Our room was spacious & pretty, with a good-sized bathroom, a comfortable bed, & a view to a sweet restaurant across the street. We ate at two good restaurants steps from the door, too, & enjoyed walks on the city walls. Highly recommended!
This a really great B&B. The staff were very friendly and helpful and served up a great breakfast. The location can't be beaten, you are right in the middle of Lucca with loads of restaurants and shops on your doorstep. We stayed only 1 night but wished we had booked for longer.
Perfect location, perfect accommodations, perfect service. Right in the middle of the action but removed from it as well. Great restaurant recommendations from Alex. Livia and Alex helped with daily itinerary recommendations as well as helped with detailed directions to the Cinque Terre and Florence. Can't wait to visit Lucca again and of course stay here again.
Good place to stay. Clean, comfortable. Good Italian breakfast with cappuccino and fresh pastries (etc). Host is gracious and helpful, speaks perfect English (born in the US). The amazing location, in the buildings that surround the original Roman amphitheatre, is slightly offset by the noise from the many restaurants below. But after about 11 or 12 it quiets down. I closed the shutters and turned on the AC at night, and wasn't bothered. And the view from my window was wonderful!
This is a beautiful old house full of character, thick walls and beamed ceilings. We were greeted by Alex the owner who gave us advice and recommendations. Our room, Etrusca, was not overlooking the square, nor did it have a balcony. However, I booked it due to its stunning interior and fantastic decor and we weren't disappointed. It was a beautiful room. Location is fantastic and right in the heart of Lucca. Breakfast was plentiful in the quaint kitchen and although not usually available, I had fantastic poached eggs cooked skillfully by Alex. The kitchen was available at all times for use of the fridge or complimentary fruit etc. There was a help yourself "honesty" bar in the lounge which was a nice touch. Just tell Alex what drinks you had and he'll put it on the final bill. Fantastic place to stay highly recommended.…
