We stayed here for 3 nights the owner showed us the way. She tries to be nice but she isn’t. Throughout the stay she seemed grumpy. The room and the bathroom were small, but okay. The poolarea was big and they had a jacuzzi. Next to the property there is a railway. The trains go there a couple of time each hour with al lot of noise. The breakfast was fine. It’s close to Lucca ( 7 min. drive with the car) and you could use the bikes to go to Lucca if they are available. We wouldn’t stay here again.
We spent two night in this beautiful hotel near Lucca, for a wedding. The lady running it is most kind and helpful. The room was clean and the bunkbed was the joy for my little daugther. Our bed was most confortable and we welcomed the air conditioning in the room. The bathroom well dressed and the shower perferct for a relaxing time. The garden beside the hotel is huge, a playground for kids and with hammocks and tables for bbq. It has a swimming pool that for sure we will give a try next time we will visit. We had also a breakfast in the morning with lots of things to choose from. Very delicious. A lovely stay and a must to repeat.
We lived in the area for some years, thus we know it and Casolare is ideally sited for Lucca, only 6 mins drive from the city walls. Spacious and tranquil, we were in a 3 bedroom apartment with a small but totally complete kitchen. The garden is almost a parkland, with lovely sun loungers and gazebos and fabulous swimming pool open 8am/8pm. Only 10 seconds from our front door, our grandsons ( 13 and 9) used it 3 to 4 hours a day. The owner is omnipresent and most helpful in every way. Thoroughly recommend it without reservation!
We loved staying at Casolare Lucchese. The hostess was helpful and pleasant. She even took us into Lucca in her own car one day. The grounds were beautiful. This property is quite close to the walled city of Lucca so it was a very convenient place to stay.
We needed a place near Lucca to meet up with relatives and to grab some late summer sun. I found the place on Trip Advisor. Nice location ,Lucca a 40 minute walk down the river valley past old industrial sites ,a couple of cafes and a modern gelateria. Perfect distance for exercise and convenience. The rooms are basic but clean, ordered and with a good sized bathroom. Very big ,clean and relaxing pool with stacks of beds ,space and chairs, great views of the mountains. Breakfast OK served with love and enthusiasm by owner who is a delight. Nothing too much trouble. She lends you old but serviceable bikes to get into Lucca. There are also 7 buses a day and station 10 minutes walk away. I really liked the place and the village with its ,one shop, one bakers and one bar. You can hear the trains at night but they are not too intrusive.…
Very beautiful (farm)house with a very nice host. Garden and pool are very clean, enough sunbeds and place around the pool. Room was clean just big enough. Breakfast was ok. Lucca is nearby (10 min) so we took the free bicycles to visit Lucca. Watch out which bicycle you take because they were very old and not maintained. Great place only we had some noisy italian guests next to our room and some annoying belgium parents with 2 kids who were talking and talking and talking very loud at the pool to their kids. Some people just don't get it that you take a holiday to enoy the quietness and beauty of these kind of places.
We wanted a place to stay to allow to explore a bit of Tuscany. Originally we were looking in Florence and then in Pisa. We then started to look around Lucca and found Casolalare Lucchese. And we are so glad that we did, as we had an amazing time there! Communication was very prompt through the website and the owner with all questions answered whatever they might have been. The price was great for us. Prices quoted for lesser accomodation in Florence and Pisa or in hotels were very expensive. Here we could get a two bedroom apartment for 700 euros a week! At first we thought that was per couple so were so happy when it turned out to be for the apartment itself When we arrived in Lucca, we made our way by taxi from the train station. One point to note is that taxis are so expensive, do not use them if you can avoid it. With our cases we had little other choice. Upon arrival, we called Lia and she promptly arrived accompanied by her daughter in law Angelica. Lia only speaks a little English but even so I found her to be extremely friendly. Angelica spoke very good English and answered our questions easily. A very nice welcome and made us feel at home instantly. We felt even more sure that we had made a good choice, when we were shown our apartment on the ground floor. A good size kitchen with table. There was a fridge and dishwasher. Two double bedrooms and a good sized bathroom. In the immediate area there was an outside patio with barbeque area - we had a BBQ twice while we were there - and the highlight of the property, the pool. The pictures do not do it justice. A beautiful pool in wonderful landscaped grounds, including a small football pitch The grounds of the property were immaculate and the owners were always tending to something! The other highlight of out trip was the free bike hire. Under the house there are roughly 15 bikes in good working order. Each morning, we went downstairs, picked our favourites and headed in Lucca which was about 10 minutes away. This involved cycling through the Tuscan countryside and was a great experience. Especially since the taxis were expensive but because it was so much fun. We used them all the time and if we could have taken them home we would have done! I know a couple of reviewers have mentioned the 1) proximity of the train and 2) it being a slightly industrial area. Yes, the train runs behind the property a few times a day, however wherever you go in the surrounding area you come across railway crossings and this didn't bother us at all. The area is slightly industrial but taking into account the fact that the building used to be an old farmhouse we kind of expected this. It was our original intention to hire a car but the ease of getting to Lucca and then the fact that the station had frequent connections with Pisa, Florence and Siena, there was really no need. There is a large Carrefour supermarket very close by (5 minutes drive) which often we rode to, but for a larger family a car might be useful to stock up for the week. We would not hesitate to recommend Casolare Lucchese to anyone, couples or families. It is well placed to accomodate any group. It is close enough to Lucca and connections to other towns if you want to explore however if you just want a week staying by the pool in the glorious Tuscan sunshine you could do this with ease. We have already decided that we will return one day and surely that is as good a recommendation as you can get. Thank you Lia and Angelica for your warm welcome and for a great holiday! We stayed at Casolare Lucchese in July this year. We found the farmhouse on Tripadvisor, and it was perfect for the three of us, a couple of 30 years old and a girl of 1,5 years old. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. It was clean and cozy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Lia, the house lady, was nice and helpful, always around to look after the house and the property. The garden was well kept and bigger than a soccer field! And the swimming pool was spacious and clean. Lia has bikes in the basement (we counted at least 10), some with seats for small children. The centre of Lucca is less than a 10 minute bike ride away. A perfect place for a family vacation.
We took a 3 bedroom apartment in late June at Casorale after coming across it online and reading only positive reviews of it. These reviews are justified as we were very happy with our choice that fitted well with the needs of our 3 year old son. THe apartment itself is clean and the beds comfortable and the air con is a bonus. The living area and kitchen are more basic but acceptable. The grounds are beautifully kept and the pool is exceptional. The welcome from Lia is warm and friendly and she did all she could to help us feel at home despite our mutual language barriers. Breakfast is ok and excellent vfm. We ate most lunchtimes down the road at La Grainaia restaurant where the food was good and the welcome better. Carrefour is 5 mins by car and you can get all you need there. We had a lovely time here at a very reasonable price. We would recommend it and would definitely stay again.…
We stayed here for 1 week and it was a great place to relax besides the beautyfull pool. Our 2 teenage boys could play some soccer in a very good maintained garden. We took several times some bikes that are available and took a nice, short ride to the centre of Lucca, even to just eat an icecream. The appartement was clean, the beds very good and with an airco. It's a perfect spot to make a trip to Lucca, Firenze, Pisa, the Sea or the Mountains. We will come back for another stay in this area.
