We are so happy that we chose Al Podere di Rosa to spend 3 nights on a recent Tuscany vacation! The hosts were amazing! Breakfasts were WONDERFUL! Wine, olive oil, etc were all very nice! We felt as though we were spending time with a family on their working farm! We can’t say enough about Catarina and Paolo! The location is only about 1.5 km from Lucca. We would definitely come back - and would recommend this! Thank you again Catarina and Paolo for a wonderful stay at your home!
We stayed two nights during our bike trip from Pisa to Florence. Right away we were made to feel welcome by Paolo and Catarina, who did an excellent job with renovating their hotel. The room was very comfy and very clean, breakfast was great with good coffee and fresh eggs of any style. We had forgotten some clothing items in the previous hotel in Pisa and Catarina went out of her way to get the hotel's phone, made a few calls to ensure that our items were still there for pick up. We appreciated this very much. The front yard is perfect for having lunch or dinner, which we brought from the close-by supermarket in the village. Paolo's wine was great and tasty. Lucca is a fantastic city, no wonder it is a UN heritage site. Biking around the countryside is also very pleasurable, even the ride to and from Lucca is easily doable, even at night.…
Our group of 8 stayed here en route of bike tour. Our hosts were warm and hospitable for the 2 nights that we stayed in their 400 year old family farm house. Breakfast was amazing! A dinner in town was also organized by our hosts and Wow!! it was delicious. Paolo happened to be pressing grapes at the time of our at he very graciously let me have a go at it. This really was an unforgettable experience.
Great hospitality, only a few minutes away from Lucca, situated in beautiful countryside. Lovely room, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are superb and the wine from the vineyard is excellent. We will be back.
We stayed here for 2 nights and the peace, tranquility and beautiful setting was absolutely wonderful after a busy few days in cities. Paulo and Caterina were amazing and the breakfast spoke for itself. It was so unbelievable delicious with very generous portions. If you are looking for somewhere just 10 minutes out of Lucca on a small farm where they produce their own olive oil and wine, this is your place!
This was our second visit to Podere al Rosa and definitely not our last, . Paulo, Caterina and Francesca are simply delightful people and we felt so welcome on arrival. Everything was perfect and we really did not want to leave at the end of our stay. Breakfast was delicious and so generous. We all loved Caterina's "yoghurt cake". Peace and tranquility yet literally only 10 minutes by car from !ucca. (Porto Santa Maria is the closest entrance.)
What an amazing place! This agroturismo was a real find and we were blown away by the accommodation, food and the hospitality of the owners. It was in a quiet location, a few kilometers from Lucca so a car is definitely necessary. Katerina and Paolo are superb hosts and work tirelessly to make their guests stay a superb one. We drank their own wine on the veranda whilst relaxing before going out to dinner, saw all their wonderful produce in the garden and heard the chickens. The breakfast was to die for - lots of Katerina's home made produce including the bread and conserves. Plenty of eggs, cooked to order and a feast of cheese, hams, freshly picked tomatoes, yoghurt - you name it and they had it. They fully deserve their certified organic status. We look forward to our next visit - hopefully for longer next time.…
Our third visit to this excellent agriturismo Caterina and Paolo are just so kind and helpful...nothing too much trouble Caterina even helped me with my halting Italian Most attractive and peaceful farm V good restaurants within walking distance Lucca only 5 to 10 mins by car. Ample parking outside Lucca’s Walls and a number of car parks are free Only 30 to 40 mins by car to Pisa airport
This 400-year-old farmhouse is wonderful to behold, and the owners, Caterina and Paolo are warm and welcoming, with English that was more than adequate for communication. The room was warm and comfortable, the WiFi worked perfectly, breakfast was lovely, and even though we had a lot of rain, it was perfect for a relaxing stay and a visit to the very interesting walled city of Lucca. The owners went out of their way to make our visit very nice. Easier if you have a car, probably, but we just walked a lot! A very special place.
We loved staying at this agroturismo farm house, beautifully restored with stone walls and beamed ceilings, set in a small vineyard and garden. We took lovely morning walks through the back roads. The location has easy access to the historic walled city of Lucca and to day trips to Cinque Terre and the Garfagnana. Our hosts, Caterinia and Paolo, provided excellent breakfasts and tips on fine local trattoria for nearby dinners. Their olive oil is wonderful too, and made for great presents back home. The rooms are spacious, up-to-date, and comfortable. A great value.
