On our round trip through Northern Italy we stopped in Lucca from 20.7.-21.7.22. We had booked a double room at the B&B Il Seminario. We were there for the Zucchero concert (LSF "Lucca Summer Festival"). The hotel is very centrally located, right on the edge of the old town. The old town is closed to cars. All the sights can easily be reached on foot. For this reason, it is absolutely necessary to reserve a parking space in advance. Costs 10 euros per night. The car park is right next to the hotel. Check in went smoothly. Our room was on the first floor. Simple double room. Well furnished for a Bed & Breakfast. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms are functional. The breakfast is good. Offers everything you want. You can also have breakfast on the terrace, which is a bit small and not very nicely decorated. The staff is top. Very helpful and friendly. They can give very good tips. We recommend the B&B Il Seminario

I spent 4 nights here. The location is ideal, located behind the cathedral and near the famous wall. Lucca is an ideal location to headquarter when visiting Tuscany. The train station is nearby, the bus station is a further walk but very doable. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was very good.

This is a great B&B. Our room, adjacent to the breakfast area looked out on a garden. The large room [The Puccini?] was extremely quiet due to a bathroom and foyer abutting the hallway. A second door closed off the foyer from the sleeping area providing great soundproofing. This well thought out design is indicative of the treatment that we received from the staff, Sonia and Irena. Sonia, in particular, is a treasure. Breakfast was excellent and coffee (espresso, cappuccino, etc.) is available in the afternoon; this is quite a nice touch. I enjoyed the breakfast and could not eat again until the afternoon. It is an easy walk from the train station over the walls of Lucca. The walk, however, can be difficult with luggage so consider walking a little bit more to go through rather than over the wall. Perhaps this could be added to the website. Otherwise all else was perfetto.

We stayed here with two friends for a pre-Christmas break and it was perfect. A quiet area, just around the corner from the Duomo - and a very short walk to the aperitivo at the bar on the ramparts. Our ground floor rooms were quiet and the staff lovely and breakfast was good.

This is a very quiet place to stay. It had everything we needed — friendly and helpful staff, fabulous breakfast, parking available nearby, great beds, and a wonderful price. Our room on the third floor was huge with a full kitchen, dining table, and two large beds. Our window looked out over a roof and we could see a section of the wall. A perfect retreat in Lucca!

We spent two nights in Lucca at the Il Seminaro. It was fantastic visiting this outstanding medieval walled city that has discovered how to be for tourists but not overrun by tourists. This hotel puts you inside the walls were you can walk to everything.

Il Seminario is a small, quiet hotel, near the train station in Lucca. Lucca is a fabulous place to visit and Il Seminario is a great place to stay. It is a bit hidden away but Lucca is small so everything is within easy walking distance. The outside doors are normally locked and you are given a key, making everything feel very secure. Our room was a large room on the ground floor with comfortable beds and a pleasant bathroom. The breakfasts are a superior continental type with lots of variety of cheese, meat, fruit, yoghurt, etc. The breakfasts are served in a pleasant ground floor room looking out on a patio. In the afternoon there is coffee and tea available and some pastries or croissants, in the same room, and these can be eaten outside on the patio, The staff are really great. They are pleasant and knowledgeable and gave good advice about local restaurants (of which there are plenty) in Lucca. We certainly plan to return to Lucca and we'll certainly stay at Il Seminario.

Nicely situated well run with a friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. The situation on the edge of town near some lovely botanical gardens and handily close to the train station. Nowhere in Lucca is very far away but Il Seminario is nicely placed for a walk arouns the city walls. And the breakfast is the equal of, if not better than some very high cost hotels we have stayed in. Congratulations all round

What a sweet, charming hotel. Quiet and conveniently located near a bike shop and the ramparts. We had just spent an intense day in the extreme heat wave in Italy and the cool air-conditioned room was a blessing!
