A beautifully quiet hotel, close to the main station with friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary tea, coffee and water (unlike our hotels in Venice and Rome). Just loved the old furniture in the breakfast room and would recommend a glass of w/o e in the...More
Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and had sufficient room. Breakfast was excellent. The staff at this hotel was really superb. Location was good. It was about a fifteen minute walk into center city.
Good cost quality ratio. Very nice staff. Breakfast ok. Parking possible inside.

Hotel Crocini is an updated version of a pension. It's a good value for Florence lodging - clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable price. It's a 15-minute walk to the train station, and a bit farther to the Duomo, etc. I would stay here...More

Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
