This is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Florence. We have been here a couple of times now and this has become our first choice for accommodation.

COVID-19 precautions have been taken at this property.

The owners are incredibly kind. They are always willing to help and are flexible to the needs of their guests. Importantly for us, they look after our dog (a local park and dog run is across the road) when we are out visiting the city, organise local car parking and are always ready to offer local advice.

The rooms are very nicely decorated. It is clear the owners have an artistic flare that suits the city of Florence.

The location of the property at Porta Romano is perfect if you are a tourist. Boboli gardens is just across the road, and a 10 minute walk puts you are at the Pont A Vecchio, Ufizi, etc.

I highly recommend considering this property.

Look no further .... This is definitely the best place to stay in Florence. This is my second trip to Florence in the last two months and after a lot of research on trip advisor and other websites, I proceeded with the booking here. I wasn't sure how this place would be but to my suprise I was totally impressed at the first look. In fact I forgot to take down the address of the b n b and got of at the calza bus stop. I asked the first person at the stop and she knew where la terrazza was. The moment u enter the b n b the vibe is positive and Barbara makes you feel absolutely welcomed. The place is like a home and we were totally comfortable. I was travelling with my parents and they were feeling totally at home and using the kitchen whenever and whatever. The rooms are clean spacious and extremely comfortable. The location perfect right outside the bus stop. I write this review from a 4 star hotel on Rome where I have arrived only now - which is a disaster - and already missing la terrazza. I shall definitely be back soon...and thank you so much Barbara and Luigi. Please do come and visit us in India.
Ps - will add pictures soon as Iam writing this review from my phone - couldn't wait any longer to praise you guys 😊

The Terrazza is located just outside Porta Romana, in Oltrarno. The location is great for anyone who does not need or wish to stay in the Centro Storico, while still being able to walk or take a bus to reach the heart of Firenze within 15 minutes.
Rooms are spacious and most share the eponymous terrace, where breakfast is served in the warmer months. The building was used during the decade of Florentine capitol status of the new Kingdom of Italy as a seat of government, then as an office, and finally converted by Mario, the owner/manager, into a B&B. Management is friendly and attentive, ready to recommend places and activities which do not seem to be the usual touristic fare.

Breakfast was abundant and Italianate (heavy on breads, cakes, and croissants), in an ample living/dining room opposite a stunningly-decorated kitchen (look up at the frescoes).

We were able to keep our small dogs with us, but you should inquire with Mario firsts as to whether this may be a problem with yappy, larger or neurotic pooches — rooms are close one to another and other guests may not appreciate.

The only blemish was that the initial offer for parking in the internal courtyard was followed by a 30 € charge upon departure — quite unexpected, simply; while I do not mind the charge given the price of parking in Florence, it came as a surprise and this simply shouldn't be the case.

Our stay was, otherwise, very pleasant and I recommend the Terrazza heartily.

A really lovely B and B in a great location. The hosts were simply wonderful. The room was very comfortable. The patio was charming. The breakfast yummy. There isn't anything else one could desire that wasn't here. Strongly recommend. Hope to return! A+

This was our first trip to Florence and what a jewel of an accommodation we fell upon, besides the fact that it is the "perfect" location right at the end of Boboli Gardens and a straight simple to walk over Ponte Vecchio and into the heart of the city, Barbara and Luigi were the most warm and welcoming hosts. Before even walking out the door the very first day, Barbara sat with us with the map and not only highlighted all of the "must sees" of the city but also told us the "best" restaurants to go to, all of which were "bang on". They both made our first experience in Florence, one we will never forget..Onto the actual Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are incredibly authentic and quite large for European standards. We had a wonderful room with a private large terrace tastefully decorated with beautiful plants. The perfect "haven" to go back to and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) after full days of touring this magnificent city...We will definitely be back

The hosts were wonderful and helped me out when I ran into a big problem. They were gracious and kind and made us feel like old friends. The rooms are lovely and peaceful, and the location is good, just on the outskirts of Florence with very good bus transportation. We had a lovely room with a terrace where we could sit and eat or have some wine. It is maybe a 20-minute walk to Santa Maria Novella for those of us who prefer to walk. It is also near good restaurants, grocery stores and of course the Boboli Gardens. The breakfast was abundant and healthy, and the music Luigi set up as background was just perfect! we will return to this B&B the next time we go to Florence. Book early, as this hotel is VERY popular.

We booked La Terrazza based on Tripadvisor recommendations and were not disappointed. The place is as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. We stayed in Room 3, the bed and pillows were v comfortable and faced on to a terrace away from the road so was whisper-quiet. The breakfast was great- good range and all fresh (most other B&Bs were advertised as serving mostly pre-packaged croissants etc). The owners, Barbara & Luigi were lovely. This is also a nice quiet part of town to stay in (across from the Boboli Gardens, a must-visit!!) and close enough to walk everywhere. Highly recommended.

We stayed at La Terrazza Su Boboli for 5 days during our recent Tuscany trip. First it is a great location as we had a rental car and you can't drive into old town without a permit so by staying right outside Porta Romana, we were as close as possible and within walking distance to everything in Florence. We did most other sights by day trips from here (Siena, San Gimignano, etc). Barbara & Luigi are such wonderful hosts, they arranged for private parking for us as well, so we didn't have to worry about parking either. On top they treated us like family, giving us tips and helping out with reservations to museums, restaurant choices, walking and bus routes, you name it. We were provided with weather forecasts every day and handed umbrellas on rainy days! A great breakfast every morning, a wonderful apartment flat with cool decoration and real LPs playing, the best musical selections to get you into the mood of the day. Even the apartment building had character. The room was big enough to fit our family with two kids in their own beds, high ceilings, great bathroom/shower, Tuscan natural shampoo/body wash, and a football table on the terrace to keep the boys happy. A/C and flat TV as well, which we didn't use given it was already cool days and the Tv we were too tired after enjoying everyday on foot (except catching the champions league matches via satellite tv). The kids did not want to leave, and neither did we. Great service and ambiance coupled with the owners great hospitality, I am sure we will be back.

It took us ages to find this place, hidden behind some massive wooden doors when you pressed a bell. What a charming place this was, packed with art, lovely parquet floors, old apartment building with high ceilings, chandeliers and frescoed ceilings, decor light and airy and big rooms. Owners very welcoming, totally insisted we had breakfast before our early departure. Breakfast lovely served inside or on terrace and some of the best coffee we had on our tour of Italy. Good location, away from crowds but only 15 minutes walk to duomo. This is not your standard hotel, great if you want a unique experience.

We (with our 4 month baby) stayed at Terrazzini su Boboli, less fancy than Terrazza and a bit less pricy. It was great. The place impecably clean, the bed fantastic to sleep in, the room completely silent, and the staff kind and helpful. The B&B is right outside Porta Romana which is by one of the best areas (Oltarno) in Florence. This is where you'll still find the real Florence, and where there are plenty of small shops, artists, bars and restaurants but less tourists than in many other areas. We highly recommend this B&B which is optimal for the price and location.
