Great Hotel, located in a perfect position. It was close to most of the tourist attractions within walking distance. Easy to find cafes, restaurants, bars, and gelato parlours. Staff were friendly and always helpful. The rooms were quite big, clean and bed comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Thoroughly recommend staying there.

Wonderful, friendly service. Small bedroom. A nice rooftop breakfast area. Very reasonably priced. Some interesting art work in the lobby area. A great location -- a short walk to the train station and many good restaurants and cafes nearby.

I like the bidets in Italian hotels and I found the house keeping staff very friendly and efficient especially the lady named Suzanna. It's a pity their reception, bar and upstairs serving staff are not as friendly 😑 and not been very rude to paying customers.

Hotel Italia is ideally situated to tour the city and very close to the airport. The staff at reception and the cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and cleaned on a daily basis, fresh towels also provided. Choice of food was not bad for breakfast but long queues formed at the coffee machines as hot water was only provided at one machine However, they are the good points. I came with a group of people and we were squashed into a room for our evening dinner. The room was devoid of any character and was extremely noisy due to the low ceilings. The service was very slow and the staff unfriendly. The worst of the dining experience was the food. I have never tasted anything so bad. The few vegetables we got were frozen and the small amount of meat provided was either under or overcooked. Even though our evening dinners were included in our package deal, I had to resort to dining out in order to get a decent meal. The food seemed to go from bad to worse as the nights went on. In the end, after many, many complaints, the group had to move to a nearby restaurant for our evening meal. This was excellent, you could not compare the two. My advice would be to stay at Hotel Italia for the location, but definitely don't take any meals in it. It certainly is unable to faciliate groups of any size

A lovely building that is seriously let down by its staff and it's food offering. As a member of a large group that have just spent seven nights in this hotel I would have to warn anybody bringing a group to Sardinia about choosing this hotel. The food that was served was of a very low standard and served by staff who knows nothing about service. Tables only set with a knife and fork and you had to hold onto them for all three courses, requesting more received bad mannered responses, so you were left eating with dirty cutlery. The quality of food was deplorable, better food being served in school canteens at home. The service in the bar in the public area started off as very expensive with prices being made up by bar staff and no price list. Following complaints prices did decrease to match prices on the street. But complaints about the food service fell on deaf ears do we were forced to move everybody to a local restaurant for the last three nights at a suggestion from our travel agent who covered our costs. Cleaning service was top class but they were the best of all the hotel staff. Definitely one to avoid. We certainly will not return. Sardinia is an excellent city to visit just don't stay at the Hotel Italia.

Dear Pat, Thank you for your time sharing your experience at the Hotel Italia. We are pleased to hear you have appreciated the cleanliness of our rooms and the professionalism of our staff. We are sincerely sorry for disappointing your expectations regarding the catering service which, for your group, had already been agreed and approved. Our historic hotel has a history of almost 90 years. Since 1928, we have been passionately working on the art of hospitality that has been passed down from father to son for three generations, in a hotel that smells like home and has an ozone of sea, stories, food and traditions. We will work very hard to do improve so we won’t repeat the same mistakes. We would be delighted to reverse (in better) your judgment. Please accept our sincerest apologies. The staff - Marketing Dept.

Got the upgrade to suite because AC was not working in our room. Staff was very professional and handled that like a charm. Suite was beautiful. The best part of the hotel was the staff. And I have to mention Ricardo who was trully everything You can hope for on reception. He had the time, will and knowledge to help with suggestions, explanations and was really what you call a host. His approach was like that was his hotel, and made as feel like home. Will come back surely because of it!

This was a very good hotel on business in Cagliari, Sardinia. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained with fresh water in the fridge every day and lovely air con which was very welcome as it really was very very hot and I understand that it has now got even hotter. The only real issue was at breakfast on the first day. The breakfast itself was ok, just the usual standard fare for a continental hotel and then they have a sign on the wall telling guests that they are not allowed to take anything away like a sandwich for lunch without paying extra which I completely understand but I was extremely shocked to discover that this also applied to water. We were going to refill our water bottles from the water dispenser for the day only to be told that we weren't allowed. Really? Water? Come on when you have signs in the room regarding recycling and environmentalism. I thought it was really poor and as a result we didn't have breakfast there again for the next 3 days.

We were in town for one day only, flying out one late afternoon while transit from Sardinia, looking for something convenient, central and accessible. Arriving by train, it was easy to find and get to and was great for <24hrs of tourism. We might have tried to squeeze more in, but we're happy to do a little retail and people watch, plenty to keep us occupied. Hotel is a little dated, nothing special, breakfast incl was good nothing cooked but you could pay for extras. We had to be out by 11 despite flight at 4.15, but we were able to leave bags. As they say, it is what it is. Quite good for what we were after.

I stayed here for 3 nights. Excellent location (5 mins from train station) and around the corner from via Roma and largo Carlo felice. Opposite marina. Really fantastic location. I had a street facing room so I could hear all the beeping and boisterous noise from the goings on of the street below but that’s to be expected with such a central location. Breakfast was sweet but grand, bread, jam and yoghurt is lovely. Queues developed quickly for the coffee machine in the morning. Room was so clean and modern. Type L electricity socket., I think you can rent adapters or borrow for a deposit at concierge. I really enjoyed my stay here. So many Italians stayed here and civil defence also had breakfast here so you know it’s a good spot! I’d definitely recommend. So clean!!!

Excellent excellent excellent. Staff is so wonderful and helpful The hotel is extremely clean and centered in the main city. The breakfast is very nice, it is your standard European breakfast, but the fresh fruit and selection is nice. I am used to a little bit softer beds, but, no complaints.
