#11 of 249 B&Bs / Inns in Bari
In the heart of Bari is the Bed & Breakfast Oz, housed in a historic building built in the second half of the 800, which was created for a usage in commercial and exhibition. For decades, several generations of the family working there ... have followed inside and building their own dreams and desires surrounded by antique furniture, works of art and antiques. The crucial position of OZ allows you to walk in about 10 minutes till several areas of interest in the city, including the old area called "Old Bari", the Basilica of St. Nicholas, the Castello Svevo, the Port, Piazza Ferrarese, shopping streets, the wall that overlooks the waterfront with its marinas, piers and fortini. The B&B is directed on one side to the city center, crowded and full of little shops, on the other side to a quiet and peaceful inner courtyard. A wing of the old gallery is now transformed into a magical space with three floors, where you can stay in complete relaxation. On the ground floor, the living area is shared by all guests to enjoy the breakfast, it is furnished with small tables, sofa, tv and a kitchen area. On the second floor, the sleeping area is composed of rooms with air conditioning and heating, fully furnished and equipped with all comforts, each with private bathroom, Telephone, TV and Wi-Fi. The large semi-covered terrace, where you can have breakfast, is furnished with sofas, chairs and tables for relaxing and conversation and is also an area where smoking is allowed. Ones arrived at the airport, the staff of Oz is at a complete disposal for a shuttle to the Bed&Breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights & enjoyed it so much we came back 2 days later for a further 3 nights (cancelled our other accommodation). Room spotless, Covid precautions excellent. Fantastic breakfast. Felt like being at home. Lovely antique pieces throughout and great breakfast room with terrace where guests can go to 24/7 for coffee etc. It's a little further from station and old town but (about 10min walk) but worth the effort for the comfort.

Tastefully restored and updated Palazzo with walking distance of the old city and upscale shopping. Close to restaurants, nightlife, and the theatre. Pietro, the host and proprietor is delightful - charming, funny, and extremely generous. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. The terrace is an oasis. You have to see and stay in this place. Bari is a unexpected discovery.

Oz is right in the city, although on a rather scruffy and noisy street. Ten minutes from the station where it is fairly easy to get to Lecce, Matera (slow) but not currently Alborobello (train line is up, need to take a bus from behind the station). Bedrooms are super, clean and modern, although ours did not have a window to the outside world. Roof terrace for breakfast and free expresso is eccentric but quite lovely. Owner Pietro also perhaps a bit eccentric, no english but uses a translation app on his phone. Only 4 rooms so not busy. Breakfast very good. No chance of parking. Bari is good for a day but probably not more. Old town a maze, castle now 9 Euros is interesting, there is a beach but to the south side of city.

A great place. Lovely room and good breakfast. The owner does not speak English but this did not present a problem at all. He was very helpful even when we left something behind and arranged to be there when we went back. Good location between station and old town. Many good restaurants nearby.

The B and B is located on an ordinary street in Bari a pleasant ten to fifteen minute walk from the station. It is a short walk to the charming old town. We really enjoyed both the old and new parts of Bari and would recommend a stay there. Our room was sparkling clean and spacious. The windows were double glazed and therefore the room was very quiet. The building is very old with tons and tons of character. The common areas, breakfast room and roof terrace are decorated with antique furniture and artwork. It really was very charming. Breakfast is self serve and was more than enough. The owner was very helpful.
