Our first impressions of this b and b were good. Shabby chic decor, both a kettle and coffee machine, fridge and bottle of water every day. location was handy for town. Having the rubbish skips outside not very pretty especially when they collect the rubbish late at night. Our first night was a nightmare due to noise from the drainage or plumbing system. Its an old block with many apartments and I think the drainage for the whole block could be heard from our room.At first we thought it was the person next door having a shower and banging the wooden sliding door. But this continued in a cycle all night long. I dozed off at 3 am nearly in tears. As no staff on the premises there was nobody to complain to till the morning. Francesca who was on duty was apologetic and said she would report the problem and one look at the black rings round our eyes would have shown we were telling the truth. I realized after that her apparent surprise as the noise was probably an act. When we returned i checked further back in reviews and noted that some people had experienced the same problem. I think that people in that particular room were very unfortunate as we had paid almost 90 euros a night not to sleep!!this explains the high grading that the b and b gets. If we had been able to sleep which is the minimum i expect in any accommodation i would have rated it as good.!!during our stay the noise continued and nothing was done to explain the situation or offer a remedy. We contacted our booking agent too when we returned but not one word of apology from the hotel or explanation. We had had to pay all the fee up front which was perhaps an indication that all was not well. Our trip to this beautiful part of Italy with so many interesting sites nearby was ruined as we were so tired to enjoy. Certainly the worst place we have ever stayed. We are not compulsive complainers who moan about everything, this is the first time we have ever complained about our accommodation. Within this last 2 years we have stayed in a wide range of hotels in Porto, Seville, Krakow, Bratislava, Turin and have been satisfied with our hotels. I booked Gatto Bianco the same way but reading reviews but I now realize you need to go much further back in the reviews to find the faults not just the most recent.!!When you give your review becareful as the way the questions are worded you can be unaware that you are giving them a high score, things like breakfast, room, cleanliness may have a high score but you are never asked basics like could you sleep due to noise!!!…
It was a lot smaller than we expected. Nonetheless, we had a comfortable stay for one night in Bari. The breakfast was good; the staff were friendly and helpful; great shower; it was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable, there were coffee making facilities and bottled water in the room; and the B & B is located close to the train station. Unfortunately, the WiFi wasn’t good, and there was nowhere to sit, apart from an extremely low chair or the bed.
It was a nice little place, with a homey feeling to it. We liked very much the common/breakfast area, chairs, cutlery and the food. The room was not big but it had a en-suite bathroom with pretty much everything you needed. Fresh sets of towels everyday and amenities. The room has air conditioning, terrace, TV, coffee and tea as well as water in the minibar all included in the price of the room. Breakfast was good and might I say better than most Italian hotels I've staid in. Location is in a palazzo on the second floor, with an elevator. 50m up or down the road you would find a nice seafood restaurant or on the opposite direction a pizza/sandwich place. 5-7 minutes walking distance from Bari Centrale, 10 minutes to Bari old town. On the down side, room entrance was directly from the breakfast area, might result in some noise in the morning and the feeling that you are being heard as well.…
A lovely B&B. Amazing building and room (we had the suite). Lovely decor and everything you need to hand. Could not have been more helpful and helpful :) Great selection at breakfast. Thank you. Grazie Mille!
We both loved this place because it was so different to other places we have stayed. High ceilings, air conditioning that worked and a balcony to was an added bonus. Paulo could not have been more helpful and friendly. Everything went to plan. The lift... that is special.
