I spent one night in this tiny hotel, that is more a guest house than hotel. It has only 2 stars, but its rates when the Opera shows are on are crazy for what it offers. The room is poorly decorated, with old furniture, the mattress was so uncomfortable and hard that I could not sleep. They do not offer you not even a bottle of water! But first of all, it has a tiny bathroom with old and cheap water closet, bidet…it’s dirty, and you cannot walk inside; the small shower is separated and built in the closet. 😳 Rooms are NOT sound proof and I could hear EVERYTHING from the rooms close to mine, if they used the shower, or the hairdryer or even the sink it was like they were in my room! If they talked…So I woke up every time the neighbours were using the bathroom. And my room was between 2 rooms. So…double noise! Also the noise from the street is annoying. The breakfast is served on the street, among traffic and smells of gas, garbage. It’s poor, with industrial products, no homemade cakes. Cherry on the top: I found a hair in the scrambled eggs! The teapot was full of white sediments… All in all, the one and only positive thing is the closeness to the Arena, but there are many other hotels closer and cheaper! So it’s definitely a NO!!! Price of a double room in days of Opera shows: €223,90. No parking, no gym, nothing. I think this is not honest vs tourists, who pay a lot for opera tickets, travels, and cannot sleep well!

Dear Thesmarttraveller, thank you for reviewing us again, in english this time. We are very sorry about your complaints about your recent stay at Hotel Torcolo, and surprised at the same time. We'd like to underline that Hotel Torcolo has been recently acquired by a new company ( Residenze del Cuore ) and since then we are continuously improving several aspects of the Hotel: For example the brand new reception space, all the smart TV in the rooms and so on but really this old-ish looking is very appreciated by most of our customers. If you've told us about the mattress and the egg in the very moment that it occurred, we would have been more than happy to help you out. For the mattress we could have put a soft topper on it and obviously changed the scrambled egg with another one. About the gym and the parking, our services are clearly listed on the major online travel agencies and also on our website. We hope to have you back here at Torcolo as a host Kind regards, The management and staff of Hotel Torcolo ( Residenze del Cuore ♥ )

This Hotel is just great - clean and very central especially to Verona Arena. The AC worked fine, wifi was fast. Yes, it is an old hotel but it is also very clean and the employees are nice and welcoming. I experienced no noise whether from inside or outside the Hotel. Breakfast was not included (my option) so cannot rate that. Double room was a great size. Def recommended and will return.

This 2-star hotel has only 2 stars for a reason. The bed was harder than the floor and the air conditioning barely functioned. The floors were accessed by a one-person elevator. Truly the only reason to stay here is the location, which is very near the Arena.

Good morning , Thanks for the review . Regarding the stay, if you had expressed any complaints about the hard mattress, we would had a topper or change you room ( some people like hard mattress some likes softer and we have all kind) As for the lift it is for 2 people and 2 bags and in an old building in the historical centre is big plus, of course nothing to compare to the big hotels outside. The hotel in fact it has two stars we don't pretend to have more: just central and clean and friendly. Best regards, Management and staff of Hotel Torcolo ( Residenze del Cuore♥)

It may well be that Hotel Torcolo does not have the most stars, but we had a lovely stay at Hotel Torcolo. And we will recommend others to stay there. We were well received and shown to our room and helped to park our car near the hotel. In the center of Verona there are many rules regarding driving by car (ZLT), so it was nice that the hotel could help and guide us. It was a three-person room with windows facing a small side street. The room was nice and clean, although the furniture was not the most modern. But it was cozy and there was everything we needed, including a fridge and a safe. Breakfast was served on the hotel's "terrace" which is at the hotel's entrance. Here you will also find the hotel's restaurant. There was bread, eggs, cheese, fruit and cold cuts, as well as yogurt and other breakfast products. We were offered different kinds of coffee or tea, as well as juice and cold white wine. The hotel is perfectly located in the center of town. Just 2 minutes walk from Piazza Bra and the arena. At no point did we need to use our car or take public transport, which was great after some long days in the city. The employees at the hotel are smiling and very helpful. In particular Andrea gave us good tips about sights and details about the city where he himself was born and still lives. On the way to the opera in the arena, Andrea lent us cushions to sit on during the performance. Thank you. Hotel Torcolo is full of atmosphere and good vibes, and we would love to visit again.

What can I say. Let alone the amazing location offering just a stones through from a wide range of restaurants and of course the Arena. After a very short hop from the station by taxi we were greeted with a very warm welcome and (due to our timings) our room was ready. Nice no nonsense facilities with a real charm that makes a guest feel relaxed and excited to explore a fantastic, beautiful city.

Buongiorno dall'Hotel Torcolo, We thank you for your kind review for appreciating our services and the care we put into our work. We are very happy with your description of our hotel, our classic Italian style and the perrfct central location. Our guests can use the terrace in front of the hotel for breakfast and later for an aperitif or dinner at the Torcolo restaurant (not ours but our neighbor) famous for its typical Veronese cuisine. We loook forward to meeting you in the future. Best regards, The management and Staff of Hotel Torcolo (Residenze del Cuore ♥)

Prior to arrival, I sent many emails to the hotel asking for restaurant recommendations and also booking assistance. The staff answered each email quickly and patiently helped us. Upon arrival, the hotel may pretty small and unimpressive but our stay was wonderful. The rooms are a good size and I liked that the shower was in a separate room so that someone could still use the toilet at the same time. The AC worked well and they have an elevator. The location is perfect, just minutes from the Arena and short walk to most of the sites. I’m not usually bothered by whether staff is good at a hotel or not and it doesn’t affect my stay; however, the staff here were outstanding. When we asked for dinner reservations one night, our phone wasn’t working so they actually came up to our room with a basket of business cards with recommendations and then made the reservations for us. All of their restaurant recommendations were spot on and some of the best meals we had in Italy. On the last day, we had to leave early and asked for breakfast box. We came down to find that they had set up a full breakfast 30 minutes earlier than the usual start time just for us! I absolutely loved Verona and if I ever come back, I’ll definitely look into staying here again.

This was the perfect hotel. So close to the arena for the opera. They were welcoming and although our plane was late we were able to get some dinner. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Catarina was remarkable and made or trip so special. We felt like family after only four days. No hesitation in recommending and would go back in a heartbeat.

What a jewel ! Beautifully central, authentic and with the most smiling, helpful staff imaginable. The affiliated restaurant next door also deserves a visit . We were in Verona for the opera which was a 5 minute walk, as were many of Verona’s picturesque sights. We will be back Hotel Torcolo .

We highly recommend this hotel. The location is a few metres from the arena and Piazza Bra. We like the hotel so much on our first visit we booked to return later at end of our holiday. The room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable with effective air conditioning. A good breakfast buffet was enjoyed on the terrace. The highlight however was the staff. We were warmly welcomed by all staff. The receptionists are particularly helpful.
