We were a family group of 7 adults and we had a very pleasant stay at the Elefante, On the positive side the pool was wonderful and the food at dinner was very nice, Antonio and Barbara in particular were so kind and helpful (even driving us to the pharmacy) and the rest of the staff were polite and accommodating. The bus stop to Verona was just outside the hotel which was a bonus as we did not hire a car. The rooms were large and very clean with excellent air-conditioning. The hotel has a lovely family feel with faded italian charm. On the negative side the grounds were a little unkempt both round the hotel and the garden area and breakfast was average. The hotel does not serve an evening meal on Sunday and Monday and there are no other restaurants nearby (we ordered food online to be delivered to the hotel). Also the hotel is open to public functions which tend to take over the whole hotel leaving the guests a little like spare parts,

What a superb holiday. The owner, Antonio, and his lovely wife Barbara, are the consummate hosts. All the staff are brilliant and so helpful. We felt like we were family after a few days. The restaurant is fabulous....the menu is great and the food is fabulous. The pool is superb. We had a chalet room at the back which was huge and totally quiet. Very handy for the bus into Verona. The stop is right outside the hotel. Buses leave at 12 and 42 minutes past the hour and seem to be on a Swiss timetable! Also half way to Lake Garda. Could not recommend it more highly!

Hotel was nice but a bit dated, the staff and owner more than made up for any shortcomings and where very polite and kind to us. We only had 1 evening meal in this hotel, as we were touring we usually ate out wherever we travelled to during the day. The meal was a bit disappointing for the rates they charged. Breakfast was continental style but nothing exciting, The hotel has huge potential, with its gardens and grounds with loads of features, a great events hall separate from the main hotel and a swimming pool beside the main building. Location is fine if you have a car as we did, with some great shopping outlets within easy distance and some fabulous restaurants too. Great location for touring the area from lake Garda to the Valpolicella wine region, Verona and Venice, and all within easy reach of the airport too.

Accommodation was a bit expensive in my opinion taking in consideration rooms and facilities they offer but silence and view are compensated! We were tired so enjoyed the dinner server well and tasty! Garden and pool are also an additional for summer days! I will strongly recommend to improve a lighting in the rooms!

We were on holiday as a couple at the beginning of the summer season, and this hotel met all of our needs and then some. For a while we had our hearts set on visiting Verona, this hotel fit with price we wanted to pay, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic, and the pool very pretty among the gardens. Our room was comfortable, smaller than we usually like, but no complaints.

This is a beautiful respite outside Verona. The garden is lovely. The pool is sanguine. The restaurant is superb. I highly recommend this site for anyone driving to Verona. It can be reached by bus, but that us harder.

The whole place looks tired, inside but more especially outside. 14,000m2 of gardens there may be, but not very inviting as mostly unkempt/uncared for. Great shame really. Pool area was nice enough. Good welcome on arrival, but took us a day or 2 to realise reception (Antonio) had given us duff advice about bus times into Verona. Shame really, as we only had 2 full days there. Whilst there was a wide range of cereals, cakes, fruit & breads at breakfast, I particularly fancied a hard-boiled egg. Sadly, on both days I was able to eat breakfast, the hard-boiled eggs had sloppy whites, which I find unpleasant. The "hot" offering didn't appeal. Staff were friendly enough, & one lady even offered to cook me a fresh egg after she & I couldn't find one to my liking one morning. That said, dinner in the restaurant the previous evening was fine, if a little toppily priced. Room was comfortable enough. All the furniture was old-style, presumably Italian, which was different....more characterful than modern chains. Bathroom functioned effectively. In terms of cost, my view is that this hotel asks more than enough for its accommodation. There are better, more conveniently located privately run hotels to be had more centrally, as I experienced last year, but it seems they need to be booked well in advance, especially around the opera season dates. Plenty of parking space for drivers. No lift to upper floor/s that I noticed. On a main road, so sitting outside is quite a noisy experience as one might expect. Views to the mountains from some of the upper rooms. I sent a briefer critique to the hotel's feedback service. Antonio replied that I obviously had the pip because I didn't like their regulation about where to wear a shirt. He also made the point that I was wrong about the hard-boiled eggs for breakfast; & wrong about the bus times. Dear reader, if you go to this hotel, I doubt anything will have changed, so you will be able to judge for yourself. Happy travelling.

Had a wonderful week staying here and enjoying Verona, Venice and Lake Garda. We loved the hotel and Antonio and his staff always welcoming and helpful. Easy access to Verona on bus 33 outside hotel and opposite side for lake garda. Taxi back from Verona 20 euros. Food in restaurant delicious and we ate there many times. The pool was peaceful and relaxing. Keep up the good work at Hotel Elefante and best wishes from England!

The Elefante is the perfect choice for visiting the region as it is an easy bus ride into Verona ( bus stops right in the centre of V) ) , it is ten minutes drive from the motorway junction for the lakes . An easy place to stay and go to the opera in Verona. and only 15 minutes to Verona Airport. The hotel has clean comfortable chalet style rooms and plenty of parking . The restaurant was excellent , we stayed ten days and ate in the restaurant for seven of them and were impressed with the range and qualty of the food. the pool is a decent size and we really valued coming back from a day out and having a swim and a drink by the pool. It also has a large lanscaped garden to walk in or sit under a tree and read. What impressed us most, though was the quality of the staff. The hotel is run by the owners, Tony and Barbara and nothing is too much trouble. We wanted to have a pizza for lunch one day so Barbara drew us a map of the best local pizzeria..the one the locals went to and it was excellent. At breakfast the staff renembered our taste in coffees , its small, it personal and works really well. If we had a fault it was that the Wi Fi was intermittent in our room. I would rate service, sleep quality and cleanliness as 5s but the Trip Advisor software is not allowing me to do that!!
