My friends and I did not booked a stay at the hotel but we decided to leave a good review as the staff who work at the reception is really kind and friendly to allow us recharge our phone and use the WiFi. Appreciate it. Grazie!

The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was old and desperately needed updating. However, the big problem was the smell of the drains from the bathoom. To put it bluntly the smell was so overpowering it gave us a headache and we were urging when cleaning our teeth in the bathroom. We complained to the hotel and the travel agent - who both said it was to be expected in Venice! Unbelievable. It really spoiled the stay. The buffet breakfast was passable, not great. I will not return to this hotel.

Just returned from a 3 night stay. Lovely clean rooms. Friendly staff. I had a view of the canal at the back which I was thrilled with. Ideal location for the water bus. Would definitely stay again in my next trip to Venice x

This Hotel looks small from the outside but it is a bit of a TARDIS inside. Well decorated very clean and the staff were extremely helpful as if nothing was too much bother. The room was in good condition, even had access to a terrace, alas it was November so not much use. It is in easy reach a many eateries and 15 minute walk, crossing typical Venetian bridges and passing the Bridge of Sighs you are in St Mark's Square. We went there to see the Bienalle both the Arsenale and Giardini are in easy walking distance. The Hotel provides a substantial continental breakfast that sets you up for the day and the coffee is good (though the milk is sterilised) I drink mine black so didn't notice. Word of warning bring insect repellent even in November the mosquitoes are hungry. If your flight is later in the day they will let you keep your bags at the hotel, which is very handy. There is a lift so most rooms are accessible if you are disabled.

I am still staying at the Ca Formenta hotel. This is my second day and I will be 5 nights. I have come specially to see the Biennale and that is the main reason why I chose this hotel, because it is very close to the Arsenale and to the Giardini, the two main venues for the Biennale. In general terms it is ok considering it is a 3 stars hotel and the high prices that are charged in Venice. The very day I arrived I had a problem with the toilet. When I flush it, the water came, but did not go through. Despite that, It worked when you pee, but otherwise it was very upseting because the faeces stayed. I asked for the toilet plunger and I was given one and I solved temporalily the situation. I reported the problem yesterday. After 24 hours I was told the problem was solved, but it was not. I have just reported it again. Will it work? Let´s see...It is very annoying because the staff is kind.
