Great quality hotel on the grand canal. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. It’s very hard to fault big generous room size and a great view of Venice. Breakfast was very generous and with an excellent selection.. it’s worth the price.

Hotel's Favourite
We’ve stayed in a few different hotels in Venice so far & this one is by far the best! #1. From my research, a room with a water view usually costs quite a lot more & in some places you have a wall a few feet from your window, but it’s true that every room in Bucintoro Hotel gets a lagoon view! #2 The staff here are all top notch! From the free upgrade to our room without us asking for it to the charming & extra-ordinarily accommodating Manager Stefano & the cheery, friendly breakfast staff as well as all of the other staff there who give the utmost, over & above service they can. We got the breakfasts included room which was fresh, quality European style as well as top notch pastry selections. #3 We saved a lot of money on the transportation & tour of a Murano glass factory & even had our own private water taxi there & back. #4 The rooms were very clean & the deep, comfortable bathtub was a refuge after a few chilly walks in the time of year we were here. Stefano provided blankets on those days for us to sit outside & enjoy the view. #5 On the last day Stefano even gave us a parting gift which was a beautiful reed diffuser! I may have even missed a few things to add to the amazing quality for our stay here but I certainly couldn’t ask for more! This hotel went over & above our expectations!

Great hotel, with a slight nautical theme. Room excellent with everything in, reminiscent of a recent clipper cruise we did. ALL staff really helpful with tourist advice clearly given. Breakfast was simple but more than enough and you can sit outside. The location (200 mtrs east of San Marco) with great views of San Marco. Great to have the broad waterside outside. Only negative is that the beds are very hard but this did not spoil our 3 night stay. 24 hour concierge great, especially when we returned at 2.00am. Highly recommended.

Dear BWS123, I would like to thank you from me and all the hotel staff for the kind words used in writing this comment about us. We are happy that you liked the nautical theme of our Bucintoro (which we remember was the ship of the Doge of Venice) and that this second "cruise" was as you wanted. We would be proud if you wanted to repeat this Venetian experience, we await you once more on board. Best regards Stefano and all the Bucintoro staff

This is a terrific hotel. The location is perfect -- about a 10 minute walk to St. Mark's square, but far enough from the crowds. The rooms are designed like the interior of a venetian boat. The staff was warm and extremely helpful, particularly with respect to setting up tours and water taxis. The breakfast was terrific. An outstanding experience. And ask for Room 501 -- it has it's own private rooftop terrace!

It is very difficult to add anything original to all the very positive recent reviews about this hotel. It is in an excellent location with lovely water views and efficient helpful friendly staff. Despite being only 15 mins walk from St Marks Square it was quiet with no night time noise. Rooms do vary in size and price with some not that big but this is an old style european hotel not some impersonal hotel chain. Indeed we stayed 3 nights with friends who had a lovely large corner room with big windows who on joining a subsequent cruise which included 3 nights at the more expensive Marriott Resort out on an island reported they much preferred the Bucintoro . To be fair our room was much smaller than our friends room and with a small bathroom but all very clean and comfortable and with a lovely view towards St Marks. Breakfast was good and included freshly made scrambled eggs , fruit, cereals cheese, yoghourt , fruit juices etc and lovely fruit tarts and cheesecakes. As others have also mentioned we thought the staff at the Bucintoro were excellent especially Stefano on reception and the japanese lady in the breakfast room who did everything possible to look after guests dining not only in the breakfast room but also outside on the terrace overlooking the water. We will remember this hotel and would certainly choose it again.

Very few hotels are exactly as described and live up to the 5star reviews but Hotel Bucintoro definitely does! The rooms were fabulous and the views out of this world - my sons room had the view towards St Marks (101) would recommend we had the junior suite and view across the bay which was fabulous as well (205) but if a wealthy yacht owner should decide to park for the day it does obscure the view alittle! Everyone working at the hotel was amazing I had sent a couple of emails ahead of our visit and they were answered immediately. Sat outside the hotel looking at the Venice skyline is a delight! The hotel is in a great location just out of the busy areas but only about 10mins walk to St Marks. The area past the hotel is also lovely and frequented by many locals with a lovely public park - some great bars and restaurants just afew minutes walk away. If we come to Venice again (which I think we will) wouldn’t hesitate to book again

We stayed for a week, and The Bucintoro was exactly what we needed: wonderful room, great air conditioning for the hot days this summer, fantastic views from the room, excellent breakfast buffet, attentive staff - especially Stefano, the manager. It's located on the Grand Canal near enough to everything on foot or from the nearby Arsenale vaporetto stop, but away from the San Marco crowds and tourist booths. It was easy to get to the Lido for the Film Festival.

We sent several emails to this hotel about various questions we had over the few weeks before our arrival. They always replied. That was great. We had no worries about anything. They helped us with details about airport transport, our preferred room ( a corner room with 4 windows and a great view, room 204), we wanted our beds seperated into two singles and needed a private transfer by fast boat back to the airport on check out. None of that was a problem. It was all done. The room was exactley as photographed on their website and on trip adviser There was small mini bar included, which by British standards was cheap. The cleanliness every where could not be faulted. The ladies in the breakfast room were incredible. Even on our last day we asked the concierge if we could have a take away breakfast bag for an early flight. We had that waiting for us when we came to reception in the morning and Stephano even invited us into the breakfast room early to have a coffee before we leave. The ladies in the breakfast room insisted we also eat before we go, even though we had a breakfast bag in hand to take away and despite the room was still officially not opened yet. They didn't want us to leave hungry. Every one was genuinely caring during our stay and all staff spoke English. The hotel is in a nice scenic, quiet area with a street of cafes and bars just outside to the left but also within walking distance of St Marks Square, ( a lovely 20 minute stroll in the sunshine) If there is anything you want to know about Venice every member of staff loves to answer your query and help you have a good time. We are going to book again next year. Thank you all. We had a great 3 days.

Thank you very much to all the friendly and welcoming staff who helped make our pearl wedding anniversary so special. We had a beautiful room with direct views on to the lagoon. We could watch all the yachts and boats travelling around, and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning outside with more beautiful views towards the main tourist attractions. It was just a 15 minute walk to St Mark's Square, so a perfect location to take an early morning walk to take some lovely photographs in the early morning light, and before the majority of the visitors arrived for the day. The hotel is situated in a lovely location close to the Arsenale, and the water bus stops close by. The staff were always on hand to give advice and offer suggestions. The room was beautifully clean with a lovely marble bathroom. Many thanks again.

Great place to stay with cracking views of Venice. Slightly outside busiest areas, so more peaceful, but easy access to centre & Arsenale boat dock. The interiors are all boat themed with lots of charm & great service to match
