The reason I booked Scalon Del Doge is because the renovated and restored rooms gave us an authentic ancient Venetian experience! Alessandra and Nicole gave incredible service. They helped us to book experiences we didn't even know existed in Venice. You should go on Alessandra's walking tour, she shows you the "real" Venice, pointing out things that I spent 2 weeks paying no attention to Genuinely was wonderful to spend 10-12hours walking around Venice and having such an incredible place to come home to at night (that didn't cost the world to stay in) You should stay here
We loved our three night stay at Scalon Del Doge. We had the beautiful blue junior suite and loved it. There is plenty of extra room in this larger room to spread out - including an additional comfortable twin bed for napping, reading and relaxing after a day of touring and walking. The toilet and bathtub are separate from a small shower & sink room which also makes it nice to have more room to get ready each morning or evening. Alessandra and her team are of the highest caliber. Someone is always available to help out and make suggestions. Alessandra offers a wonderful city tour which we LOVED. I would absolutely book this special tour. She has multiple degrees in art history and work experience in restoration. As a Venice native she was the perfect person to take us on a 2+ hour tour and share many details and history of her beloved city. She is a delight to spend time walking in Venice. ( See attached photos) Breakfast is lovely. It includes fresh fruits, cakes, pastries, cheese, meats, hard boiled eggs, cereal teas and coffees. Our server, Nicole, was always ready to help with all our morning needs. Alessandra made special accommodations for our dietary needs. The location in Campiello del Remer is wonderful. Directly across from the Fish Market and great people watching. It is a public dock so you get to watch the inner workings of Venice. See photo. The Amazon delivery boat, the garbage boat, the wine delivery boat, even an ambulance stopped by - It is fascinating to watch how Venice operates. There is a piazza restaurant downstairs - we did not use it - but is a popular spot for locals. It was such fun to watch the comings and goings of locals. It does not interrupt your stay and is not noisy at all. Just plain fun and handy should you want an Aperol spritz or snack. The rooms have sound proof windows so even though on water you can block out sound and light for sleeping. Scalon Del Doge has easy access to everything in Venice. I would definitely stay with Alessandra again.…
We stayed in the nice hotel for 3 nichts. Great location, very pretty room, good breakfast and great service in the morning made us feel like home, and we also got a lot of information of the city sightseeing. Great experience in Venice also because of the hotel.
The rooms are in Italian baroque style. A bot too much for our taste. And there was a bit of the Venice sewage odor in the bathroom. But the friendliness of our host and the location next to the Gran Canal was a big plus.we enjoyed the stay as an experience. Good for a couple of nights.
