Great location and interiors. Food on the terrace was excellent but spoiled by a surly waitress called Mariana, and the inability of a waiter to remember 4 simple orders. We suggested he might like to write the order down, but he said he could remember it. Needless to say he didn’t, resulting in one of our party waiting 15 minutes more for his order. I find that Eastern European people often have a poor attitude to service whereas Italian people are a pleasure to deal with. Our experience could have been so much better and we will not be rushing back any time soon
We were hosted at the hotel on June 2022. It is outstanding hotel. The location is perfect , the staff is very fraindly and afficient , the breakfast on the tarrce by the water is unbelievable good , the panorma is brethtaking, the room is nice clean and large. without a doubt it is gooing to be my hotel when i visit Venice. The only issue that must be corect is the WiFi. it is so slow that i preferd to surf with my Cellphone. Thak you hotel Bauer for a unforgeteble stay.
Just checked out of the hotel and I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to whoever wants to stay in luxury hotel in Venice but do not want sticker shock. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service at this hotel and its location. Rooms are old school, but kept clean. Breakfast everyday overlooking Grand Canal was a great way to start enjoying this magical city! Someone mentioned Danielli; I stayed there too, but for the money that I paid, I had just as good stay here or even better.
The Bauer is located centrally but that’s where it ends. This hotel is beat. I paid for a fruit “basket” to be here when we arrived and there were a few pieces of hot carelessly tossed on a plate. The room is dinghy the lobby is worn out and aside from a few vitrines of jeweled handbags and some glass with hexes it looks like an abandoned banquet hall. For the same price the Danielli is magnificent and will definitely not disappoint.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to San Marco and is surrounded by high end designer shops. We took a shared taxi from the airport and we’re dropped off at Trinita, which was a short walk from the hotel and it was very easy to find. All members of staff who we came across were very polite and friendly. Unfortunately, there were aspects of our stay which really didn’t live up to 5 star standards. Some electrical sockets in the room didn’t seem to work and sockets were very loose on the wall. One evening, I was drying my daughters hair and the hairdryer (supplied by the hotel) blew up in my hand, resulting in a burn on my wrist. Sparks were coming from the hairdryer and it was really frightening. I went to reception and spoke to the man on Concierge and he sent someone to replace the hairdryer. I didn’t get the feeling that they took it seriously baring in mind, I had a burn on my wrist, which I showed him. On check out, the man asked if we enjoyed our stay and when o mentioned the incident, he didn’t say a word. The restaurant was good and we enjoyed a meal on the terrace on our first evening. The waiter was fantastic but some of the dishes were mediocre. The prices are extortionate but was aware of this. Breakfast was very good. The roof terrace was a nice leave to relax after a busy day exploring. I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels and this one didn’t match standards and therefore wouldn’t stay there again.…
Came for 4 nights. Splashed out on a deluxe room with canal view and it was so worth it. Expensive but I’m so glad we did. Best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Staff were so helpful and friendly. All the little extras, made us feel really special. Couldn’t fault the location it was perfect, especially arriving from the airport by water taxi. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the canal was something else. Huge choice, we didn’t scratch the surface. Staff very attentive and helpful. Didn’t want to leave, beautiful city, outstanding hotel, 25th wedding anniversary in a couple of years, we will be back!
Outstanding view of Canal Grande. We had Aperols and enjoyed the view, the gondolieri passing near by and singing and catching the Venice atmosphere. Nothing is cheap in Venice and here you pay for the position and view. It pays off after all. The hotel itself looks very impressive.
Another wonderful stay at the Bauer Palazzo in Venice. We booked our 3 night stay for my wife’s birthday and it was lovely to be greeted like old friends with a bottle of chilled Prosecco (this is our second visit). The room had a delightful terrace view of the Grand Canal. Service and cleanliness were outstanding. Breakfast was excellent and my wife was touched by the complimentary bouquet of flowers delivered to our room on her birthday! Faultless. Thank you to the everyone at the Bauer - you made this a truly memorable stay.
LOVELY POSITION PLEASANT STAFF VERY CLEAN GREAT BREAKFAST well worth a visit good position very close to main attractions and water bus. a cool calm oasis in the centre of venice roof terrace was lovely and cool on a warm summer night
Stayed at the Bauer for the Venice Biennale opening and was very impressed how the hotel has improved under new ownership. It’s really worth upgrading to one of the few canal view rooms for a breathtaking view! Breakfast was another highlight - as was the rooftop bar with the best view over Venice!
