Lovely hotel in a great area. Minutes walk from Piazzale Roma (where we were dropped off by the airport transport service). The garden, where we ate breakfast, was lovely too and there was a good choice of food. Would have been nice to have been able to get a coffee when we arrived back after our days out (they didn’t appear to offer anything except breakfast). There was a bar next door to the hotel where you could get a drink so it wasn’t a problem and there were some lovely restaurants near the hotel if you wanted to eat locally. Our hotel room 124 didn’t have a nice view (Looked out onto a scruffy yard and the back of a very tall building - not what you expect to look out on when in Venice). We were only in the room for sleeping so not too much of an issue for us. Overall though, the hotel was lovely and we would definitely stay there again.…
We enjoyed our 2 night stay here, not too far from Piazzale Roma. There are even a few very nice souvenir shops along the way from Roma and their prices seemed lower than at St. Mark's. Staff at the hotel are friendly and always willing to help. Their breakfast is one of the very best small hotel buffets I have experienced in my world travels. I would have given 5 stars except our room faced a very ugly area. Additionally we had to be very creative in handling recharge for our various electronic equipment. There's not a USB port in the room and the outlets are very outdated. Come on - this is 2022 - get some inexpensive electrical updates here!
We booked a canal facing room at Hotel Al Sole to stay between 9th May to 11th May,2020 through Goibibo site.We could not travel due to the covid lockdown globally. Inspite of repeated follow up we didnt receive the refund.its showing in the app we already stayed at the hotel at that time. Repeated calls to the hotel are going unanswered. This is not expected from a reputed hotel like Al Sole. our booking ID on Goibibo site was HTLSTV8TZ8.
Nice old hotel with lots of character. Excellent location if taking the bus to Venice as it is an easy 10 minute walk from the bus station. Less than 20 minute walk to Rialto bridge and about 25 minutes to St. Mark’s Square. Rooms that are bigger than average for Europe, friendly staff and good breakfast selection.
Our first time in Venice and perfect location for us. Just 5 mins walk from the Main bus station at Piazalle Roma. 17th century building. Bedroom was dated (as expected and not an issue for us) spacious, clean. Quality breakfast. Friendly staff.
We stayed for 2 nights and requested a canal view room. We were given room 203 which is a beautiful large sunny room overlooking a quiet canal and picturesque small bridge. The concierge staff were excellent and we found everything about the hotel very good. Its a quaint, very old hotel with lots of character in a good location. Recommended.
The hotel is situated perfectly just 10 from the bus station and 20 minutes to St Marks square (depending on how good you are at navigating) the hotel has like many others been effected by the floods, and the lifts were out of action (not really a problem) the hotel is dated but I didn't want to stay anywhere modern, the staff were polite and helpful and I would stay here again
first time in Venice and thought the hotel was fine. We are silver surfers and didnt have any problems in the hotel, room adequate, breakfast what you would expect for continental breakfast, good location with shops, cafes and restaurants very close by. Less than 10 mins walk from main bus station. The bus from Marco Polo airport takes about 25mins to Venice bus station and is around 7.50 euros return. From bus station walk through small wooded area with a couple of souvenir stalls among the trees. Concrete/wooden bridge to your right. Go down the wooden bridge and pass the florists on your right.5 mins walk alongside the canal brings you to Al Sole on your left across canal bridge..staff were very helpful and all spoke good English.
This was my favorite hotel of all hotels on our trip. The staff were extremely helpful in directions, maps, restaurant choices and mailing postcards. The room was large with 2 twin beds pushed together and a 3rd twin against the wall (perfect for suitcases). The bathroom was adequate even though the shower was a little tight. I enjoyed the large windows and listening to the church bells. The breakfast was what you would expect. Meat, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, croissants, jams, fruit. You will get lost trying to the find the hotel from any water bus stop other than the Piazzale Roma. We tried and failed on two occasions. Easy walk from the train station. 3 bridges total.
My daughters stayed at Hotel Al Sole for 3 nights in early September. They dealt with large blood stains on the sheets and a clogged toilet in the first room they were given. They were moved to another room after they complained and that one had no air-conditioned. They roasted for 2 nights. They both agree that their experience at Hotel Al Sole ruined their time in Venice.
