Time at the spa was truly restorative for all of us. Spending days walking around the hotel complex in our fluffy bathrobes and pool slippers (provided) was a treat. My husband was finally able to decompress and relax in the sauna and pools, and our teen-aged daughter loved the peacefulness of the gardens. My massage treatment was the best and a highly recommended addition. We were given free bus passes to use for trips to the local towns which we appreciated. Our family hike on the plateau was fantastic.
The hotel staff were gracious, efficient and professional, and made a big difference to our overall positive experience. We felt as if we reconnected as a family and with nature. We were sorry to have to leave and we agreed next time to come for a longer stay. I'm sure your family will feel the same after your visit.
The owners and staff did everything to assure our comfort but we owe them special thanks for going out of their way to help us when we realized - 30 mins before we were due to leave - that we had left our wallet in a restaurant in the town centre. Even though we were able to pay on another card, Mrs. Mulser insisted on driving us down to collect our wallet and make sure we got to our bus on time. It was a huge help in a very tricky situation and we can't thank her enough.
We've been telling all our family and friends just how great our stay at Valentinerhof was, and we'd recommend it to anybody.
The spa was so relaxing, and being in an outdoor heated pool in the Dolomites, breathing in all that fresh air.... you can't beat it!
This hotel is a must if you're traveling through the Dolomites.
1. Breakfast - a wide choice of cereal, cheese, ham/salami, scrambled/boiled eggs, croissants natural or with jam.. cakes.. and if you go late (around 9am) they still re-fill scrambled egg section :) They also provide cappuccino apart from normal coffees..
2. Dinner - every morning you are given a menu and you select your main course for that same evening. Every night we had a great selection of food.. it consisted of a 5 course meal, salad buffet, soup, starter e.g. gnocchi with almond sauce and prawns was my favourite! main.. a choice of meat, fish, chicken, vegetarian and dessert was always different .. like chocolate mousse or apple strudel.. we used to eat around 7.30pm/8pm and never found missing items (people tend to eat early). The food was excellent so WELL DONE goes to the chef! :)
3. Spa - 11 out of 10 definitely! the outdoor heated pool is a must to try
4. Rooms - we tried both the old and new section.. both great in their own way. The new version has a great shower and the room also had motorized curtains and a great terrace. Only downside here is that we had some flies in the room.. this is obviously not the hotel's fault but the people who left the terrace door open for a long time..
5. Wifi - we paid around Euro 20 for the week and we had wifi on 4 devices.. worked great in both new and old hotel rooms but was weak in the breakfast area.
Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing break with great scenery and spa. Keep it up!

Excellent service in the hotel-wonderful food in the evening with excellent waitress service.
Nothing to complain about- I will definitely return to relax and enjoy the view and the surroundings and the food!
Most outstanding in my memory was the service - the host efficiently helped me plan a hiking trip to a rifugio in the Dolomites the next day, which otherwise would not have been possible. She suggested a route, provided me with a map, arranged for luggage storage at the departure point, and made reservations at the rifugio. She definitely went above and beyond what I expected, and made a great experience possible for me.
The fact that the fitness room is poorly equipped is probably also due to the fact that the clientele is quite old.
The location is great but the uncomfortable bar is not conducive to having a drink. Nobody sits down afterwards. At dinner it is supposed to be bright and sober, so that you feel like you are in a guest house. But the service here is really very nice.
