Few locations are as enchanting as the city of Lecco, situated on the shores of Lake Como and home to the four-star NH Lecco Pontevecchio. Lecco’s breathtaking beauty so inspired Italian author Alessandro Manzoni that he set his famous novel, “The Betrothed,” in the town.

I made a reservation for a river view room and paid extra for it but was disappointed to see that the river was quite far from my window and really not worth the extra cost. The hotel is well located and if you are a walker, you can get to a lot of places on foot, which is a real plus. My room was modern and clean and had a very corporate feeling. There were no amenities in the room, however, not even basic things like kleenex. They also had a system in the dining room for breakfast which did not work well. There was one employee behind a counter and in back of her, about 15 feet away in wrapped packages were the breakfast choices. The idea was to tell her your selection and she would get it for you. The problem was that you could not really see what was in the packages, and then she grudgingly told you their contents. This took quite a while and thus there was a very long line waiting for service. I imagine this was done due to COVID, but it would have been better to let guests quickly go through a line and select their choices as we ended up standing very close together for long periods of time to wait our turn. In general, the staff was very nice, but the dining room staff was not very guest oriented.

Hotel's Favourite
Comfortable room with amenities provided such as coffee and tea facilities, Comfortable pillows and bathrobe/slippers. Big bathroom with shower and a bathtub. However, there was not adequate light close to the bathroom mirror. Go for the junior suites with views to the bridge and the lake, but i wouldn't have called them Junior Suites, more of a Deluxe rooms..! Vending machines available in the lobby. Very central hotel on the riverbank (10 mins walk towards the central square and all shops). Breakfast was good although there was not available FRESH juice. On the big down side Wi-Fi was very slow that sometimes I was facing issues while working from my laptop.

We were upgraded to a room with a view of the river/lake. The room was very nice and large, with a bath. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The hotel restaurant was closed for dinner, but Lecco center is around a five minute walk so no problem. We found a parking place right outside the hotel. Breakfast was good (but not great).

Hotel definitely meets it's stars rating. Fabulous location, beautiful views to the lake and mountains from the room. Clean room, very comfortable beds. Great selection for breakfast - from savoury to sweets, fruits, etc. Staff was professional and friendly. A big THANK YOU to staff member Nader who's service was exceptional! He put enormous efforts to help me to find the place where I could get the test done for travel (it seemed like a mission impossible in Italy at weekend). Overall, great hotel in a great location. Very happy with my stay.
