#4 of 18 hotels in Bellagio
Travellers' Choice
Nestled on a forested hillside and cradled between a ring of high Alpine foothills, visitors have enjoyed Hotel Il Perlo Panorama and its view overlooking Lake Como for nearly a century. It was built in 1922 by the current owner’s grandfather, and has been run by the family ever since. At the beginning it was a small farm with a few basic affordable rooms to rent for servants of the aristocracy visiting nearby Bellagio. Today it is the guests of Il Perlo who feel like the richest people in the world as they take in the special panoramic vista from the expansive patio or from the solitude of their rooms and are treated with the same welcoming family hospitality as those years ago. The hotel is a sublime getaway from the hustle of everyday life. From the gurgling namesake stream, Torrente Perlo, to the garden of roses, olive trees, wisteria and kiwi vines, to the large zen-like outdoor patio and view unrivaled in Lake Como, it will enchant you from the very beginning. Whether you are looking for a romantic holiday, a quiet place for the family to explore together, or a base for hiking and cycling adventures, you will realize why Hotel Il Perlo Panorama continues to host returning guests from around the world again and again

Carlo and his team (including his wonderful mother) are amazing hosts. This is the third time I have brought friends to this beautifully located hotel for cycling. The service and ambience at the hotel continues to get better every year. And Ernica does an amazing job with their bike rental business: booking bicycles with her has always been smooth, professional, and much like her husband, Carlo, her communication always offers a friendly, personal touch. There are so many places in the world to ride our bikes, and we will explore them....but we will also continue to return here.

Our third visit to Il Perlo and the charm of this Inn doesn't dim at all. To the contrary, we were pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful enclosed terrace that was installed over the winter. This terrace makes the one of a kind lake view experience even more enjoyable. But most important to note is the new menu that is on offer. As a rule, we prefer not to eat in hotel dining rooms(this IS Italy after all!) but after arriving too late to go in to Bellagio, we settled for the dining room and we were so pleased! In fact, we ate a second dinner at Il Perlo and that says alot for us. Carlo and family made the right choice to invest in the terrace and up the restaurant game. Finally, when we checked out and reviewed our itemized bill we couldn't help but note how much value for the money we received at Il Perlo. We regularly visit Cape May NJ, you could not get near this experience at the Jersey Shore for what we paid at Il Perlo. And that observation covers so many family run hotels and restaurants in Northern Italy... so much pride and passion.... Thanks Carlo, Enrica, Piera and everyone on the staff

Lovely hotel in a fantastic setting just a short drive outside Bellagio. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Enrica and Carlo gave us a splendid welcome, organised transfers, bike rental and cycling tours flawlessly. They went the extra mile (and beyond!) to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Lovely restaurant with excellent food, very friendly staff. The views from the terrace over Lake Como are spectacular, worth the price of the room itself. Highly recommended!

I spent five nights here staying first in a room with side lake view (the owner kindly upgraded me) and then one with a mountain view. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms have lovely views on all sides and are spacious. My bed was very comfortable with top quality sheets. The hotel has a wellness room and I had two massages with their sports masseur Antonio. I had only intended to have one massage but the first one was so good I went back for a second one two days later. I also appreciated the restaurant with lovely view and very good food. Highly recommend staying here.
