Old world opulence. Staff was so kind. The rooms were very nice and the little things are well thought out. Bathroom is full marble and updated. Great location at end of town and directly on the water. View from our room was spectacular. Breakfast staff very accommodating.
We have just returned from our visit to Bellagio on lake Como. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The hotel was breathtaking in every sense of the word. The views, the staff, the cleanliness, the professionalism and the attention to every detail was impeccable. The breakfast, lunches and most of all dinner at the Mistral restaurant were memorable. I will be back for sure next season. Thank you again to the entire. Staff for making this a memorable stay.
Yes, this hotel could use a facelift, but it still a great hotel and if you yearn for old world excellence and charm, this hotel is for you. Slick and modern, it is not. What it is, is first class service, food, ambience and possibly the most beautiful location on Lake Como. We have stayed at all the five star hotels on Lake Como, but this is the one which we shall, God willing, return to. Don’t miss the Mistral restaurant - aside from the incredible view from every table, the food was superlative and worth every cent; the service was reminiscent of that received in a restaurant in a five star hotel in Paris. Oh, did I mention the linen sheets…..
This very expensive hotel is very tired & old fashioned. Inadequate lighting in the room, no coffee maker/espresso machine, & they charge for every bottle of water in room. There’s no room service before 7:30 to get coffee ☕️ and that’s when the breakfast room opens. Breakfast is mediocre and their coffee ☕️ is usually Luke warm so I keep asking for to be heated. Very nice old ballroom for breakfast service. The town of Bellagio is ultra touristic. So over run that it’s unpleasant. I suggest if coming to Lake Como which is beautiful, don’t stay at either this expensive hotel nor this town. Find a smaller village & a more modern hotel.
Absolutely elegant and gorgeous property. Spent 4 nights there and couldn’t have been more pleased. The detail of the rooms is one of a kind. If I had to nitpick it would be the pool side restaurant. It was average for an above average price. Also, the drink prices by the pool I felt were a bit excessive. All In all a really special place.
Best experience! Mistral dinner was amazing and completely worth it, the service was amazing, theatrical almost. I am surprised how any one can rate it anything less than exceptional, food , ambiance. Organised us a boat trip (really nice but be careful, they go fast and the lake can get wavy :-) ) Stunning pool, amazing lake view room. Me and my husband were hypnotised. I would recommend for the hotel to upgrade the pool loungers, bit odd that they are so simple when the hotel is so luxurious. On top of it all, we left our car keys in the room, reception called us immediately and had it chauffeured to como where we were shopping. In my eyes, great service is when they solve the problem before you even know you have a problem. I wish we can go back some day, thank you for the experience.…
Historic building preserved with the ambience of its time. Generous rooms and great public areas. Fantastic view on lake Como, two very large and nice swimming pools, direct lake access, beautiful breakfast room as in XIX century with a very extensive buffet. Two restaurants with good food. Staff well trained and kind. Linen bedsheets as only in Italy still possible. Very good WIFI. We had an open space suite which means an oversized Junior suite of generous dimensions with a sofa plus 2 eating armchairs and a full compartímented marble bathroom. If you want to live lake Como at its full splendor do not doubt, this is the only place comparable to Villa D’Este. Try to reserve a room on the first floor (higher ceilings) or if not possible the second, but not third floor.
Here is the quick and dirty. Rooms are very nice! Location is unbeatable. Grounds are outstanding. Breakfast, in a lovely classic room. Can literally jump on the ferries to the adjacent towns in a snap. A win and I will definitely be coming back and staying in the same place
You can tell as soon as you walk in that this is no ordinary hotel - the attention to detail is apparent everywhere you look. The staff is consummately professional and welcoming, the restaurant food is second to none, the rooms are well appointed and well kept. Service is impeccable. All this and you get postcard views of Lake Como from your hotel window (which opens to enjoy the fresh air). It's our go to hotel for each trip we take to Bellagio from now on.
