Hotel Selva Candida, owned by the Aniballi Family, is a beautiful hotel, that will capture for you the essence of Italy. Maria Rita, Francesco, Silvia, and Prieto at the front desk and the entire family, made our stay comfortable and assisted us even with the language barrier. In addition, Sonia at the breakfast area, is charismatic and always has a smile. The hotel is located in a quiet area, and has beautiful greenery. Parking was spacious and included with the stay. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience Italy, with the Italian charm. Dee and Juan

Quiet place further outside Rome. Old Italian property. But nicely maintained. Clean. We were 4 persons in a room. The Sofa bed has lack of support. The bed in the room is ok. The shower does not get really heated up. One will need transportation to the city. Otherwise, it’s a great place to stay.

Dear Guest, thank you for rating your stay. We are sorry that you found the bed uncomfortable. Next time we will try to give you a room with a more supportive mattress. Unfortunately we don't offer any transport to the city centre but in front of our hotel there is the bus stop of the line 904 which takes you to the nearest metro station from where it takes just 5 stops to reach the Vatican City. We truly look forward to having you as guests again in the future. Kind regards

A great little budget place outside central Rome. Easy location for public transport, but quiet and peaceful too. Rooms little outdated and the breakfast was not anything special. But the best service of my whole trip. The receptionist really cared about my holiday and made some great suggestions, really made me feel welcome. All in all great place for a budget traveller, and for those who want to see something else than tourists in the centrum.

This is a family owned and operated property just outside city center of Roma. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel property is well appointed. Front desk staff was friendly and the young lady running the Breakfast Room was so accommodating and nice. If you want a chain hotel experience - this is not it. If you want a family-owned and comfortable Italian boutique hotel - then stay here! We all enjoyed it very much!

Older out dated hotel. Not near the center of Rome costing 40 euro each way cab fare. Rooms small and dreary. Only reason to stay here is if passing on out skirts of Rome and need somewhere cheap to sleep for the night.

Dear Fred, we are sorry that you had such an unsatisfactory experience in our hotel. Nevertheless I would like to underline some aspects of your review. It is not clear to me when you describe the hotel as "out dated". It has been built in the 2000s with a puproposely chosen shabby architectural style. In this sense it is far from being modern but it certainly doesn't mean it is "out dated". It is very disappointing to me when people criticise our position. Approaching 2019, it is unacceptable to not to be able to use a map to locate the position of a particulare site of interest. The hotel finds itself in a residential area of Rome and this is clearly written in our website. There is no need to spend 40,00€ each way to reach the city centre. It was your personal choice to use the taxi service as mean of transportation. As explained by my collegues during the check-in, there is a but stop in front of the hotel which brings you to the metro A station and from there it is 5 stopts to the Vatican City at 1,50€ each way. Emphasizing this aspect as a hotel's fault is really dishonest and deceptive. The size of the room depends on the room you choose to book. The room you booked was a regular size dobule bed room. If you felt the necessity of having more space, you could have asked for an upgrade and we would have been happy to help you. Kind regards

This hotel is more of an "old Europe" bed-and-breakfast inn than it is a hotel in the classical sense. We had a family suite which really was a one-bedroom townhouse with six beds in it. The room was clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the check-in process was extremely easy. There is plenty of free parking on the territory. The hotel is in a gated community, so it seemed very safe. The beds were comfortable. The only warning that I have to give is the location relative to central Rome. If you do not have your own car, this place may be a bit too far away for you. It took us about 40 minutes in our own car to get to central Rome and the Vatican from this hotel. Other than that, this is a really nice place.

We needed a place that was convenient to the airport and to the city center that didn't break the bank, so to speak. The cost was very good considering the cleanliness and comfort of this hotel; this allowed us to spend more on hotels in Siena and Sorrento. It's a basic hotel room - small, but the grounds are pretty. The surrounding town is not so nice but the hotel itself is very nice. Breakfast was basic but good. Wished they took orders for eggs - such as omelettes and such but I learned that's not typical in the area.

Dear Guest, thank you for rating our Hotel and for your kind remarks about your stay. The Hotel is located in a residential suburb of Rome and as a matter of fact any sort of touristic attraction is lacking, apart from maybe good restaurants. A typical Italian breakfast is ought to be sweet and this is the reason why it is more likely to find croissants or cakes instead of omelettes or bacon. Nevertheless we care deeply about our foreign guests and this is the reason why you will always find products such as ham, salami, cheese, different types of bread, boiled egg and other seasonal products. We are happy that you had a pleasant stay in our Hotel and we look forward to having you as guests again in the future. Kind regards

I went to this hotel just for logistic reasons since it is located very closed to the highway surrounding Rome. What a surprise when I found a characteristic hotel with a good restaurant and a very nice staff. Room was ok even if not elegant, breakfast nothing of special...

We have found our new ‘go-to’ Hotel when traveling in and out of Rome! On this particular visit, we spent 3 weeks divided between Tuscany and Amalfi, but we flew in and out of Rome—spending a bit of time in the city on each end of the trip. So we stayed in Hotel Selva Candida on two separate occasions just 3 weeks apart. The location is extremely convenient—just 20-25 minutes from Leonardo da Vinci airport (FCO). The hotel feels serene and remote, yet is a very short distance from the A90 and quick access into Rome city center. We were able to easily drive into downtown Roma and park at Piazza Cavour to do some late afternoon/evening wandering and eating. Our family of 5 was accommodated very comfortably in one of their family apartments. Air conditioning was greatly appreciated during the time of year we visited (end of Jun into July). Breakfast was fantastic offering a wide selection to choose from to satisfy all palettes in our family: meats, cheeses & breads; pastries, cereal/granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices and wonderful coffee. The only downside was wi-fi. From our room/apartment we could not access it, so we needed to go to the lobby/wine bar area in order to do online airport check-in, etc. This was only a minor inconvenience. I also appreciate the history of the Hotel—a family farmhouse converted into this amazing space while retaining so much of the charm and architectural details…the hotel still remains in the family. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous.
