Hotel San Francesco is a small & charming 3 star hotel located in Trastevere, the hippest and most lively area in the center of Rome. 24 rooms all set with Private Bathroom, Free WiFi, Minibar, Flat TV, Hairdryer, Telephone, Safe Box and Air Conditioning. One of the best Buffet Breakfast of Rome is served from 7:30 to 10:00 and the reception is open 24h. An amazing 360° view overlooking the Aventino hill and Trastevere is waiting for you at the top of the hotel. Our Rooftop bar La Terrazza will be open on warm seasons from 6 PM to 11:30 PM. An oasis of peace and relaxation where you can have a refreshing drink and chill out after a day sightseeing. All major tourist sights such as the Colosseum, the Vatican and Trevi Fountain can be easily reached by public transports but our suggestion is to wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the city by walking through the ancient narrow streets.

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

I stayed here mainly because of proximity to where my friends were staying. I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The staff were friendly too. Breakfast was average as you would expect.

best area to stay in - a short walk across the river to see the sites then back to real Rome for the evening. Check out the Sunday market and the little restaurants nearby. Take flat shoes the cobbled streets aren't for heels!

Location, service, breakfast were excellent. Staff was fabulous in all assistance! Stayed both as a couple in Dec 2018 and then as a solo traveller in Jan 2019. The location is just outside the major hustle of main Trastevere but only a 3 min walk to its all so the best of both

Cannot remember exactly. Steps to enter the hotel. The roof terrace was only accessible by staircase. The room and bathroom we had were rather small. Not easy to manoeuvre in. But maybe large rooms/bathrooms available. However much I loved the hotel, I would not specifically recommend it for handicapped persons.

As the above answer indicates, talk to the hotel staff at Hotel San Francesco. We usually arrive by train from Naples, take a taxi from Termini train station and stay in Rome for a few nights before flying out. Upon arrival at the hotel we immediately make a reservation for a shuttle to the airport. The transportation available is a private shuttle service, 50 euros one way to Fiumicino Airport. Depending how many in your party, a driver arrives with a suitable size vehicle. The drivers are great, and know all the shortcuts to the airport. Be sure to add a little tip.
