When I got in late at night, the taxi I took from the Termini station stopped at the entrance of an alley, and the driver said he couldn't go in, but the entrance was just a few feet away. At night it looked like a rundown alley. Later, In the light of the morning, I saw that it was actually a great location in the middle of antique locations that are scattered around the center of Rome, with great restaurants and convenient markets very close by. It's a few minutes walk away from the Pantheon, a few more minutes to the Trevi fountain. Walking to the Forum may take you about 30 minutes, but who says you can't make multiple stops for gelato, coffee and pastries along the way? That's what surprised me,so many amazing gelato places all nearby, and incredible coffee with a pastry for under 3 euros. The room itself was wonderful. I was delighted from the moment I entered, sicne it looks nothing like a typical, anonymous hotel room. The bed was in fact two singles pushed together, but very comfortable. Sparse looking room but wonderful with high ceilings. Only gripe I have is that in the mornings there was always someone thumping around, loud enough to wake one up when one would have liked an extra hour of sleep. Never figured out if it was outside the building, or inside. They have someone available at the front desk only from 2-7pm, but they'll work out how to buzz you in for check-in outside those hours. And they'll keep your bags for you. They offer a 45 euro service from the airport. Worth it if you're 2 or more people, it's the same price as official taxis. Or, you can take the Leonardo express to Termini, and then a taxi. A bus is also doable, but not recommended because it gets so crowded. Internet was spotty in my room, and not many channels on tv. But are you really going to be watching much tv in the middle of Rome?…
