The Radisson Red Madrid has garnered mixed feedback, with many guests enjoying the hotel's modern decor and lively lobby atmosphere, but others finding the ambiance overshadowed by loud music and dim lighting. While the location near Atocha station and key museums is widely praised, noise disruptions, particularly at night, have been a concern.
The hotel's cleanliness and well-equipped rooms earn commendations, yet service and value perceptions vary, with some guests reporting unresponsive staff and questioning the hotel's cost-effectiveness.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for a short trip to Madrid for a festival.
Really great locations near main Atocha station and the Metro (although nearest stations currently closed for refurb)
Loved the decor of this hotel. Lovely restaurant and bar area.
Staff are warm and welcoming.
Breakfast has a great selection and plenty for vegan and gluten free diets.
The room was really nice with everything we needed - clothes steamer was a bonus and had a great hairdryer and nespresso machine.
Room I stayed in didn’t have a fridge but each floor has a station with chilled purified water which was great.
Hotel was quiet and beds comfy, so I got a great nights sleep.
Used the gym and it was spacious and had everything I needed for a great workout.
Would definitely stay here again.

Let me start on the bright side, the radisson red, previously known as radisson individuals paseo del arte, has not only undergone a name change. The whole hotel apparently has been refurbished. And the rooms look awesome! The have many amenities which helped us waking up. I’m just wondering who tested their coffee makers as the coffee cups do not fit underneath the machine. Anyhow, a minor hick up if you ask me. What’s worse is that this hotel advertises a/c… But once you arrive back in the hotel in the afternoon, on a day that the outside temperature is 24 degrees Celsius and the sun has been shining directly on your window… A smiley receptionist tells you: oh, we never have a/c in October as it is winter now…. I feel ripped off. I pay for an offered service that I might/might not use, but when advertised this should be up to me, not up to the hotel. That being said, I’m even wondering by making this choice as a hotel, if they still qualify as 4-star according to hotel classification systems…
Summarised; I don’t like hotels that sell a (wintertime) lie :(

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The hotel's location is in central location, walking distance to botanic gardens and Prado and their huge park. Very close to all sorts of public transport (metro, main train station, various buses). 30 minutes by train (do not confuse with metro) from the airport.
Reasonable size rooms, very spacious bathrooms. Shower heads (a choice of 2) make taking shower very enjoyable.
Good Internet but no password so not sure how secure it is.

+1
I really can not explain how disappointed I am from the service I received from this hotel. Our expectations were really high since it is a Radisson family hotel and has a great location. These were the only reasons why we have booked this hotel but apparently we should have considered “RED” is a lower segment of Radisson’s.
First, they gave us wrong rooms and receptionist told me that it’s written in our policy that you may not get the room type you asked for :)))))))) I need to remind that I have booked the most expensive rooms of the hotel… I have never heard such a story in any other Radissons I have stayed. They did nothing to solve it but instead receptionist was just rude and arrogant.
Second, room cards they gave to me were never working… I stopped by reception twice every time when I tried to go to my room… Maybe it’s also written in the policy that they don’t promise if room cards work or not :))).
Third, the shower gel bottle in my room was empty when I’ve checked in and they never controlled or changed it so as bedsheets.
Fourth, there were conference room chairs stored in the wardrobe of my room and some tv connection cables in the drawers under TV unit. They hardly took the chairs away and left the wardrobe dirty.
Fifth, dishes at the restaurant were not so clean. Every time I took a plate, there was dirt on them.
Sixth, their operations manager emailed me to explain what I have experienced during my stay, I replied back but she didn’t even cared to get back or apologized so maybe now everybody can read what happened, my next stop will be Google…
Shame on Radisson Hotels, I was not expecting such low customer satisfaction, we are very disappointed.

Pros:
* The hotel boasts a very good location, which was convenient for exploring the city.
* The breakfast provided was decent, offering a variety of options to start the day.
* We appreciated the good sound insulation in the rooms, allowing for a peaceful and quiet stay.
Cons:
* One notable issue was the cleanliness of the plates and glasses. The glasses (all of them!), especially, had remnants of pulp from the fresh juices served at breakfast. Their dishwasher is not capable to clean it and, obviously, no one trying to fix it manually.
* The room cleaning left much to be desired, as we encountered dust and plastic tags on the bathroom and corridor floor when we initially entered our room.
* Sink in our room was clogged. Despite reporting it to two different receptionists on two separate occasions, no action was taken to resolve the issue.
* We had an unpleasant experience at the lobby bar when the bartender and manager were preoccupied with counting money. They clearly saw us, but instead to make a pause and serve their clients they prefer to continue whatever they doing and had us wait more than 10 mins.
* The language barrier became a frustration during breakfast, as the lady responsible for seating guests and providing information about the breakfast arrangements spoke only Spanish. This was surprising for a 4-star hotel in a cosmopolitan city like Madrid.
* Lastly, the carpet beneath the hotel front door was noticeably dirty and stained, which was unfortunate for a hotel of this caliber.

The hotel is impeccable, excellent service and excellent location. The room was a good size, it can easily accommodate 3 adults (bed + sofa bed), the cleaning service is very good. The breakfast is very complete, it is worth paying the extra to include it in the reservation.

I booked a room at the hotel expecting a comfortable and luxurious stay, but I was sorely disappointed.
The first room I was given (which I paid the total price for the high floor supreme room with a balcony) had separate beds, the air conditioning was not working properly, there was no minibar, and the view was not what I was promised. I went to the front desk and asked for a different room.
The second room they gave me was also a downgrade (4th floor and smaller), with even worse air conditioning and a smaller space. The air conditioning was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep, even after the maintenance guy tried to fix it. When I returned to the hotel and found out that the room was still not cooled and smelled of sewerage, I called the front desk again and asked for a third room.
I ended up getting the third room after midnight! Unfortunately, it also had separate beds and was on the 2nd floor with no balcony. Despite being a downgrade, I decided to stay there since the AC was working. However, all of our belongings remained in the second room, and we could go to sleep after 2:30 AM!
Unfortunately, they still did not offer to compensate me for the downgrade, and their complimentary breakfast was a lousy gesture. I expect a full refund.
I would never stay at Radisson Hotel in Madrid again. The service was terrible, and the rooms were uncomfortable. I would advise anyone to stay away from this hotel.

We stayed here from December 29 to January 2 for bringing in the New Year in Madrid for the first time in Spain. The area around the hotel is very central and walking distance to many places, 20 minutes from Puerta del Sol and very well connected by metro. Got here around 12:30PM, got a room immediately. We got room 109, which was a Superior room. Impressions of the room were good, plenty of space and liked the walk in shower. Had a lot of pressure, easy to switch back and forth between hot and cold.
The bed and extra bed were a good touch, knowing that if you have an extra guest, they put a sofa bed. This is where the good really ended. Now to the negatives, mentioned below.
Some of us were feeling a little unwell and for something simple as water, when we called the front desk, they almost blatantly refused to give us another bottle because of our mistake of throwing it away expecting that they will get another one. They cleaned the room daily. However, they did not get rid of any used cups or coffee pods/tea bags. That was another complaint to the front desk/housekeeping. Eventually they did address our concerns, but that still bothered me.
Last, but not least, the breakfast options especially for a 4-star hotel are very lackluster. Disappointing to say the least, very little variety. Yes you'll get toast, scrambled eggs, and a few other basics. If you order something like pancakes or French toast, not only is it NOT fresh, but it is served very cold. What a disappointment and outrage.
It was my first time staying in Radisson Red, and I have stayed at Radisson Blu hotels in India with far better service. I expected better, but sadly did not meet expectations. It was the cheapest since our idea was to stay somewhere central especially if the intention was to take a Hop on Hop off bus.
If my travels take me back to Spain for tourism or anything, I will never recommend staying here. Pick somewhere else central if there are some better options. Radisson should be ashamed of themselves for delivering such a service.

The hotel itself is nice and very modern in my opinion. The staff is very friendly and helpful with a few exceptions. The location is quite good. The walk to the Royal Palace is quite long at 11 minutes, but it is close to the Prado and the lively restaurant district around Calle de las Huertas.
So far everything would be fine, if not:
1. The hotel is not only located on a main road with a very loud party scene to the right of the building. We had the junior suite on the 7th floor, the many windows of the suite are almost not soundproof, so the noise in the room was almost unbearable until 4 a.m. and unworthy of a hotel of this category. The suite is certainly not suitable for guests who need peace and quiet. The noise will probably be less in the rooms further into the city with fewer windows, as the loud party scene is at home at the right end of the hotel.
2. The hotel advertises very flowery rooms with terraces and a view of the city. There may be one on the 8th floor, but not on the 7th (where many of these rooms are). We had originally booked a standard room on the 7th floor, but shortly before arrival we were offered a paid upgrade to a room with a terrace, which I accepted in order to offer something to my better half. The room we were assigned, 716, had at best a 4m² exit into a dark corner (and no terrace), where two armchairs were crowded together. The view was of the rusty air conditioning of the neighboring NH hotel, not of the city. We certainly didn't want to sit on the "terrace". The dark room was not even remotely comparable to the rooms with terraces shown on the website. We complained and accepted the offer of the junior suite (see above). It is probably best to accept the standard room and then not expect anything more for the good price. I don't recommend the more expensive rooms, the price and performance don't match up here.
3. The service in the hotel bar was rather inattentive, there was a lack of staff at breakfast, especially on weekends.
Those who are less bothered by noise or who are lucky with their room allocation will feel comfortable here, but guests who are sensitive to noise will be more dissatisfied.
