Wonderful hotel! In a historic building, Mediodia Hotel has a privileged location, right in front of Atocha Station, close to great restaurants and shops. It is walking distance to the Retiro Park. Breakfast was very tasty! The staff was very friendly and made us feel home! When I return to Spain, Mediodia Hotel will be my first choice again!!
The hotel is so convenient to the train station, and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. There are bars and cafes just outside and its a short walk to get on the Red bus for tour of the town. The rooms are generous, and we were located at the rear of the hotel away from the main street.
Our second trip to Spain began with a night at the Hotel Mediodia in Madrid. The location next to Atocha train station made it the perfect choice. Lovely room with recent renovations and huge bathroom! Lots of restaurants nearby for breakfast or an evening meal.
I was travelling through Madrid on a train tour of Spain when, unfortunately, I started to feel extremely unwell due to an ongoing health condition. As the nearest hotel to the station, I came to the Mediodía for a rest. While they had no free rooms that i could book for the day, the staff were really lovely and wanted to help as much as they could. I was allowed to come into the guest salon and rest as much as I wanted, which was just what I needed for the day. I am so grateful for the staff for how kind they were to me when I needed it.
I stayed here for a 1 night stay with my family of 4. You have to walk up a few steps when you enter the lobby. One of the employees was quick to help us with our bags. We arrived late but were checked in quick and efficiently. The two employees we met were very friendly. We had a room on the fifth floor with a view of the Atocha Train Station. The room had two small balconies overlooking the street and 4 beds arranged with two twins on each side of the room. There were two small desks and plenty of outlets to charge our devices. There was also a mini-fridge in the room. The bathroom was clean. There was plenty of hot water for all four of us to shower. The beds were comfortable. The location was perfect if you need a place close to the train station – it’s right across the street! Two grocery stores are a 10 minute walk from the hotel. My only complaint is that there was no climate control. The air conditioning unit in the room is turned off for the winter. It was very warm the day we arrived and we were told to open the balcony doors. The noise below was very LOUD! The price was right for this hotel and location. If it’s warm and the climate control is still off, ask for a room on the side facing away from the station for a quieter night’s sleep.…
