So in May I had booked 6 rooms with this hotel for the end of 2020/beginning of 2021 as part of our group was coming after New Year’s. I accidentally booked one room and forgot to get the free cancellation option. Our flight was cancelled so we had to cancel the whole trip, it’s hard to stay in a hotel in Spain when we live in the US. We were not going to cancel until the last moment. We really wanted to go to Spain. The E.U. has banned all travel from the US unless you reside in the E.U. AFTER, Our flight was cancelled, I cancelled our rooms too. This is when I realized I had book one of the rooms without the free cancellation option. Expedia tried several times to get the hotel to refund my money. The hotel got to the point that they would not answer the phone and continued to say I/Expedia would need to email the request. Expedia emailed several times. The final decision is that they would not refund ANY of the money. I even asked for a voucher that would expire in a year. NOTHING. I even explained that we would be rescheduling and if they did not refund this room costs, I would not use their hotel when we rebook. This hotel is obviously out for whatever they can get. No concern to please their patrons nor for a return customer. Any business that is only concerned with what they can get out of you, is not a place that would care if you once they receive their payment. So do not expect to check-in and get any customer service. These are the kind of businesses to stay away from if you want even a minimal expectation of concern. A hotel, or any business that has no interest in repeat customers is obviously a bad choice.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before and my previous review mentioned that the rooms were dated and beware of controlling temp in room. I was delighted to check into a completely refurbished room with individual room air controls. Great location near Puerta de Sol. Great value, Will book there again when in Madrid. One additional note, there’s a Taco place right next door that had 20+ in line at all times, even in 90+F heat. I didn’t try but seems like a lot of people are willing to.

I have stayed at many hotels in Madrid, and this has been the best choice. The hotel is in a prime location, a 3 minute walk from Gran Via and Sol. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, so you can sleep really well. Staff is super attentive with guests. I even received a free champagne bottle the first night. Rooms are nicely renovated and super clean. I felt safe during the Covid-19! I am definitely coming back to this hotel.

Hotel is decent. Not a four star but the location is as good as it gets. It's in the heart of the city and you can walk to all the important places. Location is what makes this hotel special. Everyone was friendly. The hotel restaurant (for breakfast) was decent. Did not eat dinner here but tried all different restaurants outside the hotel. Madrid food seems to be the same in almost every restaurant. I was not too fond o the food in Madrid. The food in Barcelona was outstanding everywhere but the food in Madrid was not to my taste. There was one restaurant that we found that is not listed in trip advisor that we liked a lot. It is a Mexican restaurant called San Tita Carbon Mexicano located at fuencarral #74. This Mexican restaurant gets really crowded with locals. Make sure you make a reservation. Even at 10:45 at night we didn't get to a table till after midnight (really very crowded).

With all the cancellations from the airlines my reeservations with the hotel were severely impacted, however the hotel work with me to provide me and modify my resrervations accordingly, I had a non-refundable fare but they DID NOT charge any extra and move the dates to my family necessities This is Great customer service to have support when you more need it. The hotel has location, service and a wonderful customer service.
